AMANDA J. BRAND is one of the most sought-after production publicists in the film industry, working on films ranging from Oscar winners to tent pole blockbusters, and with some of cinema's biggest names. She just completed work on Universal Pictures "Atlantis" directed by Michel Gondry and produced by Pharrell Williams, Gil Netter and Mimi Valdes. "Atlantis" is a musical loosely based on the early life of Williams and stars Kelvin Harrison Jr, Da 'Vine Randolph and Hale Bailey.
Prior to that she worked on NBC Universal's ""Twisters" starring Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Anthony Ramos which took the box office by storm when it was released in July 2024.
She has worked numerous times with Tom Cruise, most recently as unit publicist on "Mission: Impossible - Fallout" She previously worked on his films "Interview with The Vampire," "Mission Impossible: 11," Mission Impossible: 111" and "Lions for Lambs". Brand's long list of film credits also includes the Oscar-winning "Argo," directed by and starring Ben Affleck; Christopher Nolan's "Inception," starring Leonardo DiCaprio; George Miller's "Mad Max: Fury Road," starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron; "San Andreas," starring Dwayne Johnson; J.J. Abrams' "Super 8"; Sam Mendes' "Road to Perdition," starring Tom Hanks; the Sandra Bullock films "Miss Congeniality," "Practical Magic" and "Hope Floats"; "Twister"; and Gus Van Sant's "To Die For," starring Nicole Kidman. In all, she has worked on 50 films since relocating to the United States from England in 1993. After earning a degree in Marketing and Business Management, Brand began her career working in the music industry, specializing in artist management. Her first position was at Brian Epstein's company, NEMS Enterprises, which managed the Beatles. Brand then transitioned to its sister company Worldwide Artist Management, which handled such legends as Black Sabbath and Black Widow. Following that, Brand went to work for Morrison O'Donnell, the management company for the Irish band Thin Lizzy. Brand segued to the film industry after landing a position as an assistant press officer for Walt Disney Productions London. From there, she moved to C.I.C., which later became U.I.P., working under Duncan Clarke, handling the U.K. domestic release publicity for Paramount, Universal, and MGM. Clarke facilitated a move into motion picture production publicity by arranging for Brand to work with the legendary director Fred Zinnemann. During this movie's promotion, she met Julian Senior, the Vice President of European Regional Advertising and Publicity at Warner Bros. in London. Becoming her mentor, he hired her to work alongside Susan D'Arcy on Hugh Hudson's "Greystoke: Tarzan Lord of the Apes." She worked with D'Arcy again on Steven Spielberg's "Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom." Dennis Davidson then retained Brand to work as unit publicist for the productions handled by his London-based company. Her first solo production was Paul Verhoeven's "Flesh and Blood." She went on to serve as unit publicist on over 30 films shot in Europe before her move to Los Angeles.
