Time Travel is Dangerous centers around friends Ruth and Megan who run a vintage shop in Muswell Hill. When they stumble across a time machine, it occurs to them that stock is much cheaper if they ‘borrow’ from the past – well, it’s free. They don’t want to change history, or rob banks, they just want to find a nice Victorian lamp or an authentic 80s bum bag without getting sucked into the hellish time-space vortex that is “the Unreason”. The thing is, Time Travel Is Dangerous.
The movie stars Johnny Vegas, Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous), Sophie Thompson, Mark Heap, Brian Bovell, Tony Way, Guy Henry, Tom Lenk (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Laura Aikman, Kiell Smith-Bynoe and is narrated by Stephen Fry.
Here at Love Horror we got a chance to quiz some of the creatives behind the brand new Sci-Fi comedy and run them through a set of quick fire questions.

Real-life vintage shop owners Ruth Syratt and Megan Stevenson raid the past for sellable trinkets in this charmingly funny, quintessentially British comedy
Here is a very silly and very likable British mockumentary, one that – like Ruth and Megan, the two real-life Muswell Hill vintage-shop mavens at its centre – lovingly mixes and matches multifarious styles. Director and co-writer Chris Reading adopts a little The Office deadpan, some Shaun of the Dead bathos, a heap of Terry Gilliam, and even shoplifts a shot from Wes Anderson. If the resulting low-budget assemblage still bears these nametags and has the odd stray thread showing, it also has a persistent charm of its own.
The ChaChaCha vintage emporium (which really exists) is limping along until owners Ruth (Ruth Syratt) and Megan (Megan Stevenson) stumble on a time machine in the form of a souped-up bumper car – and thus an infinite supply of merchandise from whichever epoch they desire.

As films like The Terminator, The Time Machine, Looper, Edge of Tomorrow, Back to the Future 2 and Hot Tub Time Machine 2 have proven, going backwards and forwards across history or into the far future can be perilous to both personal and universal health. But it has taken until now for a movie to say it out loud, and that movie is the brilliant British comedy Sci-Fi usurpingly titled Time Travel is Dangerous.
The set up is simple enough and starts when two friends Ruth and Megan find a time travel machine by the bins behind their vintage shop in Muswell Hill. The scientific marvel, which is actually a modified dodgem, takes them on jaunts across history where they pilfer anything they can from the bemused locals of the past to sell in their shop. Time Travel Is Dangerous is about to become your new favourite British sci-fi comedy blending mockumentary stylings with surreal, low-budget charm. Directed by Chris Reading and co-written with Anna-Elizabeth and Hillary Shakespeare, the latter two of those names, are no strangers to this reviewer.
Time Travel Is Dangerous stars Ruth Syratt and Megan Stevenson as fictionalized versions of themselves, running a vintage shop in Muswell Hill. The premise is delightfully absurd: the duo stumbles upon a discarded fairground dodgem that just so happens also to be a time machine, which they use to “borrow” historical artefacts to sell in their shop, as time travel movies have told us in the past though this has catastrophic consequences due to...

Time loops, Victorian lamps, and a dangerously unpredictable time machine take centre stage at an exclusive gala screening of Time Travel Is Dangerous at Everyman Muswell Hill on 27th March. The sci-fi comedy, which explores the perils of ‘borrowing’ from history, will be celebrated with a special event featuring a Q&a with the cast and filmmakers, followed by a post-screening drinks reception in the main foyer.
The film follows best friends Ruth and Megan, who run a vintage shop in Muswell Hill. When they stumble upon a time machine, their business takes an unexpected turn as they decide to “source” their stock directly from the past. Rather than using their newfound ability to change history or amass wealth, they simply want to get their hands on the perfect Victorian lamp or an authentic 80s bum bag. Everyone has their favorite on-screen Santa. Whether it's Ed Asner's gruff but warm Santa in 2003's Elf or Edmund Gwenn's immortal portrayal in 1947's Miracle on 34th Street, countless actors have donned the red and white suit. But one actor isn't often in that conversation, despite playing the role twice within a three-year span.
That actor is Jim Broadbent, one of the most recognizable British character actors who's lent his jovial sensibility to everything from Bridget Jones's Diary to the Harry Potter films. Broadbent first took a turn as Santa in vocal form in 2011's acclaimed animated adventure Arthur Christmas, before getting a chance to don the white beard three years later in 2014's Get Santa. The film was generally met with good reviews at the time, but has since largely disappeared into the stream of would-be Christmas classics.

As if to further cement the comical irony of Coyote vs. Acme being shelved, Warner Bros. Animation is looking to begin pre-production on a new iteration of Tom and Jerry. In an exclusive report from Deadline, Rashida Jones, Will McCormack, and Michael Govier have been set to write the script. The project is set to revive the iconic animated cat and mouse duo, previously attempted in the 2021 live-action hybrid film Tom and Jerry, which also starred Chloë Grace Moretz.
Originally created in the 1940s by animation titans William Hanna and Joseph Barbera at MGM, Tom and Jerry defined so many key aspects of cartoon slapstick humor. Hundreds of Tom and Jerry shorts have been created, with several going on to win Academy Awards for Best Animated Short Film. The Book of Clarence is a religious comedy that draws inspiration from the Bible to explore spirituality. The movie incorporates genuine biblical characters and lore to underscore its themes and moral teachings. The film has contemporary flourishes and portrays a personal journey of redemption, rather than preaching religion.
Written and directed by Jeymes Samuel, The Book of Clarence is a religious comedy that opened to the masses on Jan. 12, 2024. The story follows Clarence (Lakeith Stanfield), a sinful huckster living in A.D. 33 Jerusalem among Jesus Christ and his disciples. To rid himself of mounting debt, Clarence pretends to be the new Messiah sent directly from God and begins manipulating those around him for his own gain and glory. During his quest, Clarence adopts moral tenets and learns to be more benevolent.
Considering the characters, title, and setting, it's easy to wonder if The Book of Clarence is officially based on the bible.

As I’m sure many filmmakers have experienced, pitching stories from the heart can often be an advantage which is exactly the experience Writer/Director Grant Taylor had with his touching comedy drama Ecstasy. When the unexpected opportunity arose to pitch at Cine Circle, he pulled directly from his own experiences with his father’s Parkinson’s diagnosis and the keen memory of a documentary he had watched about the positive effects of the infamous party drug on sufferers. The resulting film – starring British actors Brian Bovell and Nathan Bryon as a father and son on a mission to score – is a richly entertaining short which follows the pair’s near disastrous attempts to give a man an opportunity to dance with his wife at her birthday party. Taylor worked closely with his own father and cast to provide an authentic view of the suffering inherent with Parkinson’s and...

"I have no idea who you are or how I got here." Vertical Ent has released an official trailer for an indie sci-fi film titled Solitary, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Luke Armstrong, who finished this film last year during lockdown. This is another low budget sci-fi film with a cool concept that could turn out bad, or could be pretty good. Solitary is a contained sci-fi film about a man who wakes up inside a room to discover he's a prisoner sent into space to form Earth's first colony, and worse - his cell mate Alana is hell bent on destroying everything. Starring Johnny Sachon and Lottie Tolhurst as the two prisoners, with Michael Condron, Brian Bovell, and Ben Valentine. This kind of even feels like a lockdown film - two people contained in a studio apartment, in space, arguing about what to do when they get out.
