"There's no need to escalate this to the point of no return!" STX Films has unveiled an official trailer for a dark comedy called Me You Madness, a kooky neon-filled romcom mashed up with American Psycho. Louise Linton stars in, wrote, directed, and produced the tongue-in-cheek movie. Linton plays Catherine Black, a brilliant, ruthless business executive who runs a top hedge fund in L.A. She lives a wealthy but ice-cold life and is a self-declared murderous psychopath. Enter Tyler Jones, a handsome young petty-thief and con man, arriving at her Malibu estate seeking "a room for rent" while naively unaware that he might be her next meal. Co-starring Ed Westwick as Tyler, along with Joel Michaely, Shuya Chang, and Gwen Van Dam. "Romance blossoms amid glamorous action in this neon-tinged, self-aware erotic thriller riff from writer/director/star Louise Linton, driven by a high-energy 80s soundtrack." This looks ridiculous.

STXfilms has acquired the domestic rights to “Me You Madness,” the directorial debut of actress Louise Linton, who is also married to U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, an individual with knowledge told TheWrap.
Linton also stars in the campy, comedy and thriller alongside “Gossip Girl” actor Ed Westwick, and the film will be made available through premium video on demand. STX is aiming for a mid-February 2021 debut.
Linton in “Me You Madness” plays a serial killer living a life of luxury in a dream house in Malibu who seduces a petty thief to be her next kill, only for the two of them to slowly fall for each other. Here’s the full synopsis:

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday. (The answer to the second, “What is the best show currently on TV?” can be found at the end of this post.)
This week’s question: What is the worst show you’ve ever reviewed? Why was it so bad? Did you waver over the grade or rating you gave it?
Daniel Fienberg (@TheFienPrint), The Hollywood Reporter
I’ve compared “Mixology” to contracting TV herpes, “Fuller House” to exhuming a bloating, gaseous corpse and called “Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders” the perfect xenophobic TV show for Trump’s America. Still, there’s little doubt that no show has ever made me so irate for its mere misguided existence than a little show called “H8r” on The CW. If you don’t remember “H8r” the premise was this: Mario Lopez drives his F-list celebrity...

Oh boy. Guys, I do not know what to do with Black Box, ABC’s new medical drama. (Yes, the show is about neither airplanes nor experimental theater; yes, its protagonist’s last name is “Black”; yes, this is a titling convention that must be stopped immediately.)
When its logical left brain is in control, Black Box is an utterly conventional, thoroughly dull entry in the over-saturated “Insufferable Genius” genre. But when the show’s crazy right brain takes over, it’s a jaw-dropping, over-the-top campfest with true potential to fill the Smash-sized hole in your (read: my) heart.

If there's been one glaring flaw in this new golden age of TV drama, it's that so much of it has focused on stories of damaged male anti-heroes, without offering us enough equally complicated female protagonists to balance them out. There have been some breakthroughs here and there — the amazing ensemble of Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black" by itself does a lot to balance the numbers out — some shows that stuck around only briefly like "Enlightened," and some shows that seemed headed for the pantheon before falling short like "Homeland," but it's an area where TV could definitely stand to improve. That said, we need good shows about complicated women, as opposed to something like ABC's new "Black Box" (it premieres tonight at 10), a clumsy, pretentious, cliché-riddled mess that just happens to have a woman at the center of things. Describing the show makes it sound like the sort...

In ABC’s “Black Box,” a drama about a brilliant yet troubled neuroscientist, we learn that the title is a term used by doctors to describe the human brain because it’s “the ultimate mystery.” But the real mystery is how this clumsy and somewhat lazy show ever made it onto your television screens – especially in these economic times when even great shows are getting taken off the air. British actress Kelly Reilly plays Dr. Catherine Black, who is the medical director at a state-of-the-art neurological center in New York, where she deals with patients from all over the world because she’s [...]

The Black Box – ABC’s “The Black Box” stars Ditch Davey as Dr. Ian Bickman, Kelly Reilly as Catherine Black and David Ajala as Will Van Renseller. (ABC/Andrew Eccles)
Black Box, ABC‘s latest drama, feels a lot like a show created by committee, and constructed largely by piecing together ratings research of plot and character points. A little bit House, a hint of Grey’s Anatomy, and a heaping dose of the hokey, “we’re calling you stupid,” plot construction of Scandal… et voilà. Of course, if those last two are among your favorite shows, welcome to your new obsession.
Dr. Catherine Black (Kelly Reilly) is the world’s most impressive and important neurologist… or whatever. She’s so cool that she has her own facility in New York City. Known as “The Cube,” it’s all neurology, all the time, and Dr. Black runs the show. But,...

ABC's new medical drama "The Black Box" isn't going to be the next "Grey's Anatomy" for the network, and that's not what it's supposed to be. The 13-episode limited series intends to show "brilliant neurological cases" that allow main character Catherine Black (Kelly Reilly) to shine. The only catch? Catherine suffers from manic bipolar disorder.
But similar to "Homeland's" Carrie Mathison, Reilly's character isn't defined by her mental illness. Instead, executive producer Amy Holden Jones explains at TCA 2014 winter press tour, "It is a part of the character. It is not what the show's about."
Like "House," each episode of "The Black Box" will focus on at least one neurological case. And when Catherine is on her meds, Reilly and Jones say, the doctor is at the top of her game. It's only when she comes off her medication -- which, understandably, happens in the show's first episode -- that...

Already shown at the Porta Vallarta Film Festival in December (as seen here), The Donner Party is making an impact on DVD store shelves January 26th. Starring the phenomenal Crispin Glover (Charlie's Angels) and others, The Donner Party involves the real life account of several settlers who became trapped in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Also, loosely, the basis for the film Necrosis, the first trailer for The Donner Party shows hopelessness, looming starvation, and some characters changing from sanity to madness under dire and stressful circumstances. The film has two positives and possibly more in that the film offers some historical lessons and an entertaining look at what people will go to in order to survive (cannibalism, murder). Have a look at the trailer inside along with other important details from the The Donner Party.
