Behind every great team is a great leader, but often behind that great leader is a vicious temper that is just waiting to erupt.
With flare-ups all too often happening on the playing field as players battle with their own egos as well as their opponents, it is the man in the dugout who is meant to be the calming influence. But they’re generally the same kind of animal as their players, and sometimes they just can’t help themselves and take things that little bit too far.
With so much at stake, the pressure on the shoulders of a manager at either end of the Premier League table is intense and every now and then they let their guard slip. Inbetweeners stars Joe Thomas and Simon Bird have said that they fully expect to get complaints about historical inaccuracies in their new Sky1 sitcom Chickens.
Based around three hapless conscientious objectors during World War I, Chickens was piloted on Channel 4 before being snapped up for a full series by Sky.
Talking about the amount of historical detail they had included, the pair confessed that they may upset a few viewers with their artistic licence.
"There's a scene where they're playing Monopoly and Monopoly wouldn't have been invented but we just thought we will just put it in, so presumably it will kick off from that," said the duo.
"We will get complaints, that's the worst thing about it and then we're going to have to sit down at some point and send an e-mail and say, 'We know they didn't have computers'.
"That was the problem with Downton, wasn't it?...

This week's comedy news
Comedian and actor Tim Allen is in a spot of bother this week. Specifically for telling the Tampa Bay Times that he should be able to say the n-word as much as he likes. "If I have no intent, if I show no intent, if I clearly am not a racist, then how can 'nigger' be bad coming out of my mouth?" asked Allen. The comic, who claimed to use the word regularly in his standup, added that "[the phrase] 'the n-word' is worse to me than nigger." African-American commentators politely but firmly disagreed. "Here's a general rule of thumb to follow when using the n-word for white people," said sociologist, author and radio host Michael Eric Dyson on MSNBC: "Never.

Those distant cheers and strange scraping sounds you can hear are Harry Hill's army of fans celebrating news that the big-shoed bad boy is coming to the big screen. Oh, and the scraping? That's the badger kingdom logging on for tickets. The Harry Hill Movie, which promises to bring "his madcap comedy world to the big screen", kicks off on May 8 with eight weeks' worth of shooting around the UK. The plot will be fuelled by Hill's sick hamster. The NHS-spec'ed japster must get his pet to a vet in Blackpool before the clock winds down on his bewhiskered buddy - presumably forcing someone to operate at gunpoint a la James Caan in A Bridge Too Far when he gets there. Okay, perhaps not, but the roadtrip will definitely be complicated by the presence of Hill's gas-guzzling granny (Julie Walters, surely too young to play his granny) and the...

The star - best known for his comic creation Dame Edna Everage - will appear alongside show creators and stars Simon Bird, Jonny Sweet and Joe Thomas.
Chickens was originally aired as a pilot by Channel 4, but was later picked up to series by Sky after Channel 4 declined to order more episodes.
The First World War sitcom follows three men left behind in a world of women as the nation's heroes are fighting the good fight on foreign soil.
Humphries will play Mr Armstrong - headmaster at the local school - while Sally Phillips will also appear as village outcast Miss Trimble.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for three of the funniest and most talented men in the Northern hemisphere to work with me," quipped Humphries. "I am very proud of my young supporting cast, whose names I cannot remember at the moment.

Michael Winterbottom and Steve Coogan reunite this year for The Look of Love, following the release of 24 Hour Party People just over a decade ago.
The film sees Coogan taking on the role of Paul Raymond, the real-life ‘King of Soho’ who opened the UK’s first strip club, and became the wealthiest man in Britain.

We’ve put a spotlight on some of the UK Christmas telly specials you won’t want to miss this festive season…
You know that pub conversation we’ve all had, the one about what you’d show an alien race on the brink of wiping out planet Earth to convince them we are essentially a well-meaning, productive, and often beautiful species that deserves to live? No contest: a Christmas issue of the Radio Times.
In 1969, an astronaut walked on the moon and someone thought up the Christmas Radio Times, both of them landmarks of brilliant stuff achieved by humans. They must have been thinner then - not astronauts, copies of the Radio Times - back when there were fewer TV channels than there are now Shrek films.
Between the covers of that hefty double edition sits the industry and imagination of generations. It...

"And by season's end I really think it's a completely different show. Comparing the sensibilities of British and American television is such a crapshoot, really." It sticks to the Brit-holiday-abroad template, but the gag rate is high in this TV sitcom spin-off
They could have called it British Pie, but this TV sitcom spin-off updates the teen summer holiday formula surprisingly entertainingly, considering it doesn't subvert it one iota. Most of that entertainment value is at the expense of our four naive suburban teen heroes, who embark on a post-sixth form Mediterranean jaunt with impossibly high hopes. "It'll be like shooting clunge in a barrel," one of them delicately puts it, which proves to be far from the case – unless they make good with those four unfeasibly obliging and sympathetic girls they keep running into, but what are the chance of that? The gags come crude, fast and in a language the target audience will understand, and the worst of the humour is offset by some fond observation of British holiday rituals and the witty,...

The Inbetweeners: The Movie sees Will, Simon, Neil and Jay transported, in all their puerile glory, to Crete. But do the writers and cast realise this is the end?
The feature film-of-the-sitcom is one of the less heralded genres in cinema. Forty years ago, when Hollywood's vision of a low-budget hit was the cool and radical Easy Rider, the British film industry couldn't have been eulogising a less glamorous form of transport, when Hammer brought the sitcom On the Buses to the big screen.
That first On the Buses film made more than a million pounds, and sparked a gold rush. 1973 saw nine films based on sitcoms, including Love Thy Neighbour, Father, Dear Father and even For the Love of Ada. By the end of the decade, though, the notoriously thin quality of the adaptations meant the genre had become irrevocably tarnished.
But in 1997, the astonishing success of Bean,...
