ITV’s flagship daily show This Morning is to be assessed by media regulator Ofcom after presenter Eamonn Holmes made comments about the baseless conspiracy linking 5G with the spread of coronavirus.
Ofcom has received 419 complaints about the show on Monday — which was watched by 1.6M people — and a spokesman said: “We are assessing this programme in full as a priority.” ITV is yet to comment on the matter, but Holmes did clarify his remarks on Tuesday, making clear there is no evidence for the 5G theories.

To the delight of hair metal fans everywhere, this year’s American Idol final 12 reunited on stage last night alongside rock God, Alice Cooper.
Crystal Bowersox, Siobhan Magnus, Didi Benami, Paige Miles, Michael Lynche, Casey James, Tim Urban, Lee Dewyze, Lacey Brown, Andrew Garcia, Aaron Kelly and Katie Stevens gave a fiery rendition of Cooper’s 1972 hit ‘School’s Out’, resplendent in St Trinian type school uniforms and accompanied by a heavily made up children’s choir.
The group and Alice were later joined on stage by Orianthi, who kept her costume in theme and wore a sparkly school dress.
We don’t know who lost more credibility last night. American Idol for allowing decent yet intrinsically uninteresting singer Lee DeWyze to win, or Alice Cooper, who used to be a rock God but these days is looking like a bit of a sell out more and more. Leave your comments below.
