To his well-known movies as a director belong "Der Jäger von Fall" (1918), "I.N.R.I." (1920), "Die Kronjuwelen" (1920) and "Manuela, Frau ohne Nerven" (1922).
He already realised his first movie as a director in 1917 with "Die entschleierte Maja" (1917). In the next years he shot other movies - in some of them he also appeared as an actor - and he also wrote the script to them time and again.
He joined the film business in 1914.
In the sound film era of the 30s he realised two short movies. Otherwise he only took over sporadic tasks as an assistant director for "...und es leuchtet die Prussta" (1933) and "Es geht um mein Leben" (1936).
His film career came already after 1922 to an end.
