There’s a myth in Hollywood that circulates around the start of every year that once all the Oscars have been handed, insiders can collectively catch their breath and resume a normal schedule. But that’s not really ever the case, especially for the fashion crowd that keeps a breakneck pace year-round.
That said, in the wake of the Academy Awards, there’s no better time to extend the congratulations and pats on the back one more round by honoring the linchpins of the red carpet season — celebrity stylists. That’s just what The Hollywood Reporter did on Wednesday with the rollout of the annual list of Hollywood’s Top 25 Stylists, published in print and online and toasted with a starry event at Sunset Tower co-hosted by Instagram.

It’s been a year — one in which Barbie pink dominated fashion, the box office and the Oscar red carpet, notably on America Ferrera, who glittered in a custom Atelier Versace sheath, courtesy of stylist Karla Welch. Lest we forget, a side effect of the SAG-AFTRA strike was red carpets being rolled up for four months — but not before Cardi B shut down the Met Ball in Chenpeng and Oppenheimer star Emily Blunt hit the London premiere (an hour early, so the cast could attend before the strike began) in Alexander McQueen, as selected by Jessica Paster. Post-strike, stars like Hunter Schafer, decked out in ethereal Prada as styled by Dara, came back shining more brightly than ever at the Golden Globes. And who doesn’t love a Hollywood icon comeback? The fashion world trumpeted Demi Moore, who wore a Balmain swan as procured by Brad Goreski to the Feud: Capote vs.

Roger Federer — who’s about to get the sports doc treatment on Amazon — has had a busy few days in Los Angeles.
On March 10, he attended the Oscars for the second time with his wife Mirka, and afterward hit the Vanity Fair Oscar Party. Two nights later, Federer and eyewear company Oliver Peoples threw a celebrity-studded dinner at Sunset Tower — attended by the likes of Trevor Noah, Sharon Stone, Edgar Ramirez, Maria Sharapova, Jay Ellis and Lindsey Vonn — to celebrate his new sunglasses line with the brand.
And while there’s no date yet set for his documentary, Federer recently saw a screening of the feature-length film, which is helmed by Oscar-winning director Asif Kapadia (Amy) and co-director Joe Sabia.
The tennis great told GQ that he was emotionally walloped by watching the doc and reliving moments that are in the film, which follows the last 12 days of his pro...

Pharrell Williams’ vibrant debut collection for Louis Vuitton has officially touched down in California at the French luxury label’s new men’s pop-up shop in West Hollywood. Open to the public from Jan. 4 through mid-March and housed off Melrose Avenue across from Cecconi’s restaurant, the temporary boutique re-creates Paris’ oldest bridge, the Pont Neuf, where Louis Vuitton’s newly minted men’s creative director, and Virgil Abloh’s successor, staged his Spring Summer 2024 show last June.
While a bullet-proof vest-clad security guard stands out front — which feels quite L.A. these days — once inside, visitors are whisked away to France courtesy of Louis Vuitton’s spare-no-expense attention to detail. The space’s golden interior decor features street lamps and architectural molding that mimic Paris’s iconic bridge as well as a Damier-patterned floor. However, the boutique’s pièce de résistance is its speakeasy-inspired Speedy room, which is hidden...

If the Jacob Elordi “Saltburn” bath water candles are sold out, just blame his co-star Barry Keoghan.
“I already have 10 of them,” Keoghan joked with me Wednesday night at the opening of the Louis Vuitton pop-up in West Hollywood. “They’re all burning at my house right now.”
At least, we think he was joking.
The candle, available on Etsy for $27.91 and on Amazon for $36, is inspired by a scene in “Saltburn” when Oliver (Keoghan) slurps and drinks the used bath water that Felix (Elordi) was masturbating in minutes before. The product description reads, “There’s nothing quite like the smell of a quality candle, particularly when that smell is inspired by Jacob Elordi and what we imagine His Highness to smell like.”
The scent comes in three flavors: vanilla, comfort spice and sea breeze. The candle is being sold by Side Hustle Vibes, which also offers Drake’s bathwater,...

Phil Dunster had an ace of a day on July 12. Not only did he score his first Emmy nomination — a best supporting actor nod for his work as cocky-turned-compassionate footballer Jamie Tartt on Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso — but the 31-year-old also toasted his good fortune by watching Grand Slam action at the All England Club.
“I’m looking over the courts now,” Dunster says as he surveys the scene during the men’s and women’s quarterfinal matches at Wimbledon as his brain volleys back and forth in an attempt to process the news on the eve of the SAG-AFTRA strike, which was called two days after this chat. “It’s an amazing day — and also quite a confusing day in the land of all things acting and the industry.”

Each July, the idyllic Cycladic islet of Mykonos goes to war. The victors claim sprawling, ultra-luxurious party palaces, built for sipping retsina with the world’s rich and famous. The less-privileged check in to double-bed hotel rooms.
A 33-square-mile speck in the Aegean Sea, Mykonos has one of the densest inventories of luxury private villas anywhere in Greece. In the summer, its population swells from about 15,000 to over 200,000 well-heeled sun-seekers each week. In the last two years, Demi Moore, Elon Musk, Bella Thorne, Nicole Scherzinger, Tommy Hilfiger and A-list stylist Warren Alfie Baker have all visited, but it’s the multitude of semi-anonymous European billionaires, Middle Eastern royals and American status-seekers who really keep the island’s villa economy afloat.
Big names and big money are, of course, nothing new to the island. Long before Lindsay Lohan opened her ill-fated Beach House and billionaires packed out exclusive nightspots like Scorpios,...

Rewear, repeat, three-peat … The verbiage summing up what’s new on the red carpet in the past year happens to center on what’s old, or at least previously worn. Sustainability and vintage were at the forefront of Hollywood fashion throughout awards season. THR‘s Stylist of the Year Elizabeth Stewart worked with Tár best actress nominee Cate Blanchett to create a red carpet campaign with the smallest environmental footprint possible. “The theme is Cate’s closet and celebrating it,” says Stewart, “and being as conscious as possible of the impact our choices can have.” Law Roach, who made worldwide headlines when he announced his retirement from styling March 14, outfitted Zendaya in internet-shattering 2002 Versace for the NAACP Image Awards. Also trending? A return to megawatt glamour, as evidenced by both Anne Hathaway with stylist Erin Walsh and Gucci glamazon Jodie Turner-Smith, who turned the Venice International Film Festival canals into her own catwalk,...

Three days ahead of the 2023 Oscars, Donatella Versace showcased her Versace women’s and men’s fall-winter 2023 collections in a runway show atop the Pacific Design Center’s car park rooftop, with Instagram-worthy views of the Los Angeles skyline, on the evening of March 9.
“This collection starts from the understanding and appreciation of the body that we have always had in our heart at Versace. We applied the lessons learned in the Atelier to ready-to-wear: the construction, the tailoring, the beauty of fabric. This is a celebration of our craftsmanship and understanding of true luxury,” said Donatella Versace in a statement in the show notes.
Veteran supermodel Naomi Campbell took to the catwalk with Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner and Emily Ratajkowski, while the Hollywood-heavy crowd of more than 500 guests included Miley Cyrus (who told THR that the show was “beautiful … really pretty!” on her way out), Cher (who chatted...

Context sometimes is everything, and awards-show attire is not excluded from that idea — just ask Andrew Garfield and his stylist, Warren Alfie Baker, who were mindful of this thought when putting together the look the actor is wearing to Sunday’s 2023 SAG Awards at L.A.’s Fairmont Century Plaza. (Check out the star-studded red carpet arrivals here.)
Garfield was tapped as a presenter for what’s sure to be one of the SAG Awards’ highlights, introducing Sally Field to accept her lifetime achievement award from the Screen Actors Guild, which is honoring the beloved actress for her six-decade career. “That’s going to be a really special moment, and Andrew is very aware of that,” Baker tells The Hollywood Reporter exclusively. “We didn’t want to do anything too crazy, because we wanted to be respectful of the moment. Sally is an absolute icon, so our conversation started with that in mind.
