Henk Badings was born on January 17, 1907 in Bandoeng, Java. He was a composer, known for Freud (1962), De vliegende Hollander (1957) and Yantra (1957). He was married to Olly Folge Fonden. He died on June 26, 1987 in Maarheeze, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands.
Dutch composer, professor at the Rotterdam Conservatory; director of
the Music Lyceum at The Hague; and director of the government
Conservatory at The Hague. Originally a mining engineer, in 1935 he
abandoned science for music. From 1956 he composed electronic
music.
In 1946, Badings was brought up on charges of wartime collaboration
with the Nazis. He was found guilty, and for two years barred from all
professional activities. These charges were later reexamined, and
Badings was completely exonerated.
