Mumbai, Jan 10 (Ians) As his movie ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ has clocked four years of its release on Wednesday, actor Sharad Kelkar spoke about playing his “favourite” Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Ajay Devgn-starrer and called it a “dream come true.”
Sharad told Ians: “Tanhaji will be on if my most favorite memories. Firstly, playing the role of my favorite Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and to work with Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan, it was like a dream come true.”

New Delhi, May 18 (Ians) After being revived by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the 17th-century general Lachit Borphukan’s story is being brought to life by ‘Rrr’ screenwriter, film director and Rajya Sabha MP Vijayendra Prasad in a novel titled ‘Brahmaputra: The Ahom Son Rises (Book 1)’.
The prolific screenwriter of blockbusters, who’s also S.S. Rajamouli’s father, has collaborated with naval officer-turned-espionage fiction writer Kulpreet Yadav to put together the novel being released by HarperCollins Publishers India on May 30.
The story, which mixes action and romance, takes off with Lachit falling in love with Princess Padmini, daughter of Swargadeo Jayadhwaj Singha, ruler of the Ahom kingdom. The king finds out about the romance and throws Lachit out of the capital, Jorhat.
A few days later, the Ahom capital is attacked by Aurangzeb’s forces, forcing the king to sign a peace treaty, whereby he cedes part control of his kingdom to the Mughals.

Pakistan has reversed its ban on Saim Sadiq’s Cannes-winning Oscar contender “Joyland,” according to a senior advisor to the government. An official statement on the reversal had not been issued yet at the time of going to press.
Salman Sufi, the head of Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s Strategic Reforms unit, who has been a vocal opponent of the ban revealed the news on Twitter and in an interview with the AP news agency. He told AP that the film would now be allowed to release, albeit with some minor cuts.
“The decision is a simple yet powerful message that the government stands by freedom of speech and safeguards it, and cannot allow mere smear campaigns or disinformation to be used as choking creative freedom,” Sufi told AP.

Bollywood star Ajay Devgn, who was feted with a National Award for Best Actor for his work in ‘Tanhaji’ on Monday, shared that the honour is significant because it comes from a larger demography.
Ajay in a statement shared that he is “humbled and honoured to win two National awards” for ‘Tanhaji-The Unsung Warrior’, which marks his 100th film, “one as producer of best film & one as best actor”.
“I also share the Best Actor win with Suriya, whose cinema I like & respect.”
The superstar shared that this is his “third win as Best Actor.”
“I feel elated yet humbled each time this happens. The National Award is significant because it comes from a larger demography and it represents Indian cinema, embracing cultural and language barriers. And, it has an inclusive audience.”

Cameras are set to roll for the Marathi epic historical period film ‘Moghul Mardini Chhatrapati Tararani’ as the film went on floors on Tuesday.
The film will follow the life of the great Maratha warrior queen, Chhatrapati Tararani who fought valiantly with several foreign regimes for the pride and freedom of her people.
Chhatrapati Tararani is known for ending Aurangzeb’s dream of destroying Swarajya by giving tough resistance to the Mughal king. Marathi actress Sonalee Kulkarni will essay the titular role of the queen, who was widowed at the age of 25, yet never dropped her valour.
Having worked in period dramas in the past, Kulkarni will now take on the responsibility of playing the Maratha empire’s beloved Queen.
Commenting on the occasion of the film going into production, Sonalee Kulkarni said in a statement, “I am humbled to play the role of such a valiant woman and pride of our Maratha culture.
