Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are the perfect couple in 2024, as The Voice stars bring out the best in each other. Before they were married, Stefani was infamously married to fellow rock star Gavin Rossdale. Rossdale allegedly cheated on Stefani, leading to their divorce. Courtney Love, Kurt Cobain’s wife, once bragged about sleeping with Rossdale during his marriage to Stefani. Here’s what to know about Love and Stefani’s feud.
Courtney Love claimed to have slept with Gavin Rossdale while he was still married to Gwen Stefani
Courtney Love and Gavin Rossdale go way back, and they allegedly sustained a relationship during Rossdale’s marriage to Gwen Stefani. Stefani started dating Rossdale in 1995, and they tied the knot in 2002. Unfortunately, their marriage didn’t last. The rock stars divorced in 2016 following rumors that Rossdale was cheating on Stefani.

The new docu-series Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bass Players Human Too? premieres today (December 5th) on Paramount+, and Consequence is offering an exclusive clip from the episode featuring the Rush frontman and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic.
The four-part series follows Geddy Lee as he partakes in random tasks and endeavors with fellow bass players. Most of the activities are decidedly non-musical, as we discovered in our previous exclusive clip in which Les Claypool shows Geddy how to use an excavator.
On the other hand, the episode with Novoselic is a bit more domestic, as Geddy finds himself in the Nirvana bassist’s kitchen among many homegrown vegetables (Novoselic would appear to be quite the gardener).
After donning an apron, Geddy gets right to work on a can of roasted tomatoes.
“You’re a natural,” exclaims Krist off the jump before placing the jar in bowling water to sterilize it.

With the new Paramount+ docu-series Geddy Lee: Are Bass Players Human Too? set to launch on Tuesday (December 5th), Consequence is exclusively premiering a clip from the episode featuring the Rush legend alongside Les Claypool of Primus.
The four-part series features Geddy Lee engaging in random activities with fellow bassists in an effort to “show the world that a bass player can do many things,” in his own words.
For example, this exclusive clip sees Claypool showing Geddy how to use an excavator to consolidate some burn piles on Claypool’s land. At first, Geddy looks confounded by the heavy equipment.
“I’m a nice urban Jewish boy… where do I come to this kind of machinery?” asks Geddy.
Les responds by giving Geddy a Stetson and some coveralls while encouraging him to expand his horizons. Soon enough, Geddy gets the excavator arm moving and gets to work, picking up the basics fast.

Courtney Love dismissed the possibility of a Hole reunion in an interview with Vogue, where she also debuted a new video cover series.
Love was frank when asked if there’ll ever be a proper Hole reunion saying, “No absolutely not. And you guys have gotta get over it. Our old manager Peter Mensch calls once a year to ask about a reunion: ‘Hey, just doing my thing I do every year with you and Jimmy Page [of Led Zeppelin].’ And I’m so honored to be in that company, but it’s just not gonna happen.

‘Ted K’: HanWay & Cinetic Board Berlin Film Festival Drama About Unabomber Ted Kaczynski, First Look
HanWay Films and Cinetic have boarded Berlin Film Festival entry Ted K for international and North American sales, respectively. The companies have also released a first look image.
Writer-director Tony Stone’s true crime drama, starring Sharlto Copley (District 9) as the ‘Unabomber’ Ted Kaczynski, will play in the Panorama section of this year’s largely digital Berlinale.
The film tracks a period in the life of Kaczynski, more widely known as the Unabomber, and draws from his personal diaries and accounts from those who knew him during his life in hiding in a simple wooden cabin in the mountains of Montana.
According to the producers, a number of the film’s supporting cast are non-professional locals, some of whom knew Kaczynski, and the production worked closely with his former neighbors and employers to corroborate research and paint an authentic picture of the man.

Cinetic Media and HanWay Films have launched sales on writer/director Tony Stone’s Berlin Panorama selection “Ted K,” starring Sharlto Copley (“District 9”).
The film tracks a period in the life of Ted Kaczynski, better known as the Unabomber, and draws from his personal diaries and accounts from those who knew him during his life in hiding. Kaczynski, a former university professor who despises modern society and its faith in technology, becomes radicalized and commits local acts of sabotage, ultimately leading to deadly bomb attacks.
HanWay is in charge of international sales, while Cinetic is handling North America.
“As filmmakers we wanted to revisit and abolish the usual tropes of the biopic to create an experiential cinematic journey, depicting what Ted’s day to day life was like through extreme subjectivity,” said Stone. “Since 1996 when a man covered in filth was dragged out of his cabin, the public has...

While several books have explored the fertile 1990s indie rock scene, precious few documentaries truly capture the period’s excitement. “Brainiac: Transmissions After Zero,” which premiered at SXSW and which will have its New York premiere Friday, offers a notable peek into the era via the lens of this arty Dayton, Ohio-based band that reached the top of the underground before tragedy touched the band due to a car accident which took the life of the act’s charismatic lead singer, Tim Taylor, just before the band were set to sign with a major label.
“Transmissions After Zero,” directed by Brooklyn-based filmmaker Eric Mahoney — and with funding help from fellow Ohioan Trent Reznor and actor Mark Hammill — chronicles Brainiac’s unlikely rise and subsequent fall with intelligence and humor. By the time Hole‘s third album Celebrity Skin had been released in the fall of 1998, the world had already met two different Courtney Loves. The first was a vitriolic weapon of self-destruction: a brash bottle blonde with smeared red lipstick, ripped tights and coquettish babydoll dresses, who growled and sneered with the best of them. The word “troubled” became synonymous with her name and bled into her music: the Pacific Northwest-bred alt-rock band married riot grrrl ethos with the heaviness of the grunge scene her husband Kurt Cobain became the wearied face of.

Courtney Love is reuniting the mid-1990’s-era iteration of Hole. It’s unclear yet if the intention is to record new material or to tour or to do both, but Love told The Quietus that she, Melissa Auf Der Maur, Eric Erlandson and Patty Schemel have been rehearsing new material. “I started playing with Patty and Melissa and Eric, just to see how that was,” she said. “We already played like three or four times in the last week.” Love plans to release a new single, “Wedding Day,” shortly before her May U.K. tour, but she doesn’t mention if the tune is one of the songs she and her former band mates worked on. Auf Der Maur, Erlandson, and Patty Schemel last recorded with Love on 1998’s “Celebrity Skin” before having various falling outs with the singer and breaking up in 2002. Courtney Love is reuniting Hole! The 49-year-old singer has reportedly been doing some low-key jam sessions with her original Hole bandmates Eric Erlandson, Melissa Auf Der Maur and Patty Schemel. "I started playing with Patty and Melissa and Eric, just to see how that was," Love recently told The Quietus. "We already played like three or four times in the last week." The rehearsal news is exciting for Hole fans, who have been wanting new music from the group since they broke up back in 2002 (Hole's last album was 1998's Celebrity Skin). After the foursome went their separate ways over a decade ago, they each have worked on their own separate music projects. In...

Anybody who listened to Hole during their peak knows that the band was dominated by frontwoman Courtney Love. Her personality was so outsized and her voice so big and distinct that there was little room for anybody else in the band to really shine. But Hole were an incredibly efficient rock machine, and a lot of that was because of the savage precision of drummer Patty Schemel. Drummers tend to get short shrift in any band (save for iconic singularities like Keith Moon, John Bonham or Neil Peart), so it's about time that one of the more talented members of the time-keeping fraternity gets the attention she deserves.
That attention comes in the form of "Hit So Hard: The Life and Near Death of Patty Schemel," a documentary about Schemel's life and career behind the kit. The film, which borrows its title from a song from Hole's 1998 album Celebrity Skin,...

Happy Canada Day, everybody! Our neighbors to the north are celebrating the uniting of two British colonies plus a British province into a single country called Canada in 1867. Like Independence Day in the United States, Canada Day celebrates the birth of a new nation with fireworks, barbecues, concerts, parades and copious amounts of eating and drinking (probably Molson). Canada is a remarkable country, as they have delightful socialized medicine, a charming separatist movement in the province of Quebec and loads of excellent musical exports, from legends like Neil Young to one-hit wonders like Snow.

[This review originally appeared when Out Of Our Minds screened in the 2009 Sitges festival but with the film now appearing at Action Fest we hereby present it to you again.]
The simple thing to do here would be to declare Out Of Our Minds a spiritual successor to David Lynch's Twin Peaks - at least to the more surreal and music infused parts of Peaks - and be done with it but to do so would be to do a dis-service to the singularity of vision presented here by creators Melissa Auf Der Maur (Hole, The Smashing Pumpkins) and Tony Stone (Severed Ways).
The film component of the multi-media project envisioned by Auf Der Maur - a CD will follow soon - premiered at Sundance, where it won a good deal of praise for its potent fusion of image and music. And having finally just seen the film myself I can say that praise was entirely deserved. Less a narrative than an immersive experience, Out Of Our Minds travels through its entire thirty minute run time without a single word of dialog,...

If you happen to pass by Kristen Stewart today, hand her a cupcake and give her a high five, because she turns 20 years old today. It feels like she should be older only because she has been in high-profile movies since the beginning of this decade (she starred alongside Jodie Foster in the David Fincher film "Panic Room" when she was only 11 years old). Through the power of "Twilight," she has become one of the most notable young actresses in Hollywood. But she has independent film running through her veins, as the movies she does that don't star vampires and werewolves tend to be quirky, off-beat fare (like "Adventureland," "Into the Wild," the recent biopic "The Runaways" and the forthcoming "Welcome to the Rileys").

Actor Alan Cumming, musician Melissa Auf Der Maur (Smashing Pumpkins), and John Cooper (Director of the Sundance Film Festival) are among the guests who subject themselves to scrutiny in the six-episode series.
Austin, Texas will become the center of the independent film world when South by Southwest (SXSW) gets underway next week, and you can share in...

Unless you've been living under a rock (and by "living under a rock" I mean "haven't checked a music blog") in the past 24 hours, then you've seen the very good, very weird video for Islands' "No You Don't." (If you haven't, scope it out at their official Web site.) It stars a rhinestone cape, nature and Michael Cera tripping really hard, all in the guise of a fake anti-drug PSA.
On Tuesday night (January 5), we caught up with Mr. Cera (looking decidedly different from when we last saw him) on the red carpet for the premiere of his latest flick "Youth In Revolt" and asked him about his foray into music videos.
"I'm friends with Nick [Diamonds], who's in the band, and I'm friends with Derrick Beckles, who directed the video," he explained. "They wanted to do a video together and asked me to be in it, and...

The dreaded swine flu remains an affliction that shouldn't be taken lightly. That's why when Marilyn Manson announced on both is Facebook and MySpace pages that he had been diagnosed with the illness, everybody took it seriously (although the singer seemed to be in pretty good spirits about the whole thing, joking that he "didn't f--- a pig" to catch it). Although he might have contracted a potentially fatal sickness, he teased in his posts, "So I have officially been diagnosed, by a real doctor, with the swine flu. Unfortunately, I am going to survive."
But on Friday, the Gillett Entertainment Group and Live Nation sent out a release denying that Manson had contracted the illness and confirming that he would play his two remaining Canadian tour dates. After his stops in Canada, Manson has a string of performances lined up through December, where he'll take the stage in Australia,...

The simple thing to do here would be to declare Out Of Our Minds a spiritual successor to David Lynch’s Twin Peaks - at least to the more surreal and music infused parts of Peaks - and be done with it but to do so would be to do a dis-service to the singularity of vision presented here by creators Melissa Auf Der Maur (Hole, The Smashing Pumpkins) and Tony Stone (Severed Ways).
The film component of the multi-media project envisioned by Auf Der Maur – a CD will follow soon – premiered at Sundance, where it won a good deal of praise for its potent fusion of image and music. And having finally just seen the film myself I can say that praise was entirely deserved. Less a narrative than an immersive experience, Out Of Our Minds travels through its entire thirty minute run time without a single word of dialog,...

What do you get when you cross a famous musician with an indie film maker with a moderate viking obsession? You get a Sundance-selected, solar powered, surreal short film. That’s what you get.
Three time periods, one connection: Blood. The central characters are a woman and her car. The 28-minute film follows her in a strange ritual that climaxes in a collision between past and future, crashing through the gateway to parallel worlds in the same forest. A fantasy world where a Viking heart, a car crash and a bleeding forest connect. Using music rather than dialogue, the film tells a universal tale in striking optics. Borrowed from mythology, the Hunt for the Heart is the eternal quest envisioned in Ooom. Conceived by musician Melissa Auf der Maur (Hole / Smashing Pumpkins) and birthed by Filmmaker Tony Stone (Severed Ways: The Norse Discovery of America) this mini epic is proudly...
