Kill ‘Em All 2 picks up seven years after the events of the original, which makes sense since there’s seven years between the films, with Phillip reconnected with his daughter Vanessa and the two of them hiding out in southern Italy.
They obviously didn’t do a good job of it, as within the film’s first few minutes they’re attacked by goons working for Vlad Petrovic who is out to avenge the death of his brother Dimitri who was killed in the first film. This puts them on the run, trying to stay alive long enough to deal with Vlad and his crew, and the only way to do that is to kill ’em all.

Stars: Nicolas Cage, Rachel Nichols, Max Ryan, Michael McGrady, Peter Stormare, Danny Glover | Written by Jim Agnew, Sean Keller | Directed by Paco Cabezas
It doesn’t bode well for a film when it counts Jim Agnew and Sean Keller as its writers. After all the duo were responsible for penning Giallo, the film that made Dario Argento the laughing stock of Frightfest and sounded the death knell on the career of the once-master of the Italian horror genre. Then again it doesn’t bode well when a film starring Nicolas Cage makes its debut as a direct to DVD title either.
So what’s the spiel? Well:
After a life of crime in his younger years Paul Maguire (Cage), now lives a charmed life. Fully reformed from his old ways, he is now a successful businessman, with a nice house, a lovely wife (Nichols) and a wonderful daughter, who he dotes on.

Cage Rage! Nic Cage Is Back In Rage, Coming To Blu-ray & DVD On August 12th From Image Entertainment
I do love Nic Cage, in most of what he has appeared in. My devotion doesn’t rival that of Jesse Bartel, who holds a Phd in Cagerey, but I’ve followed and enjoyed his career. So, I do look forward to seeing a new Nic Cage movie, even if I know it could be potentially bad. After a glance at the trailer, it actually looks pretty good. I’m excited to watch it now. Image Entertainment announced that they would be bringing the film to Blu-ray & DVD on August 12th. Check out the trailer below, and click here to pre-order a copy for yourself.

Cage Against the Machine: Cabezas’ English Debut Labors Through Borrowed Themes
Playing like the cheap echo of David Cronenberg’s A History of Violence, director Paco Cabezas flaunts his English language debut on the haunches of the increasingly erratic reputation of Nicolas Cage. Another brick in the growing pile of fecal matter from the unwavering Cage saga, Cabezas retools basic genre themes (you’ll probably be reminded of Taken at some point in the mix) for a film that plays like it could just as well be the third part of a trilogy including Cage’s turns in strikingly similar B fare like Roger Donaldson’s Seeking Justice or Simon West’s Stolen. To his credit, Cabezas’ Rage is no worse than the offerings of these more accomplished directors, but that doesn’t make the experience of it any more worth your while. Painstakingly generic, one only wishes it would...

Despite all his Rage, he’s still just Nicolas Cage. And so, anyone puts down a few bucks to see this movie probably knows what they’re getting themselves into. Unfortunately for even the so-bad-he’s-brilliant actor’s most undemanding fans, however, this latest bargain-bin offering (previously titled Tokarev, after the make of a gun that winds up being integral to the story) is the worst thing that he’s ever been associated with. Not even the promise of more bizarre line readings and hilariously weird facial expressions to add to Cage’s already impressive collection of Wtf moments is enough to make Rage worth your time.
With a movie as completely devoid of merit as Rage, I’m not even sure where to start. As written by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller, the film is essentially a series of loosely connected action sequences, every one somehow less compelling than the last.

Judging by his resume in recent years, Nicolas Cage has an axe to grind. Has he suffered an injustice in his personal life? Who knows – but two things are for certain: he’s all about payback, and short, one-word titles. We’ve had Stolen, we’ve had Trespass, we’e had Justice (alright, it was known as Seeking Justice in the Us.) Now we have his latest cinematic effort, Rage, (previously titled Tokarev) and it appears to be treading similar ground as evidenced in the newest trailer released today.
The distinctly Taken-esque plot revolves around Paul Maguire (Cage); a reformed criminal whose daughter is kidnapped by Russian mobsters. The wise choice might be to give Interpol a call, but Maguire’s steely pride gets in the way. As it should – as the ‘napping is payback for his earlier crimes. Rallying a troupe of his former crew, against the advice of a local cop,...

It's been awhile since we've gotten a generic thriller starring Nicolas Cage. And when I say awhile, I really mean only a year. But 2014 will see the release of the oddly titled Tokarev, which finds Cage seeking revenge after some Russian mobsters kidnap and kill his daughter, making him pay for something he did to wrong the gangsters in the past. There's gunshots, concerned cops like Danny Glover and a man willing to do anything for revenge along with all the other cliches we've come to expect with films like this. I'm hoping Cage pays back the money he owes the IRS soon, so he can stop doing garbage movies like this for money. Here's the first trailer for Paco Cabezas' Tokarev, brought to our attention by JoBlo: Tokarev is directed by Paco Cabezas (Neon Flesh) and written by Jim Agnew & Sean Keller (Giallo). We're not sure what language "Tokarev" comes from, but we can only guess that translated into English it means, "collecting a pay check." Boasting low budgets and a pretty wheezy storyline, it's a reminder that for every decent movie Nicolas Cage does—like David Gordon Green's upcoming "Joe"—he's got about five more of these bargain bin efforts in the can. Co-starring Danny Glover and Peter Stormare, this effort comes from writers Jim Agnew and Sean Keller (the duo behind Dario Argento’s awful “Giallo”) and director Paco Cabezas (“Neon Flesh”), and tells the story of a former criminal on the hunt for his daughter’s kidnappers while trying not to slip back into his old violent ways. On the plus side, "Tokarev" looks like it could at least bring forth some more classic Cage animated gifs. On the minus side, it otherwise looks pretty unwatchable. The movie will drop sometime in 2014. Until then,...

ABC is developing a drama about what present-day America would be like had the colonies not won the Revolutionary War. The Thirteen is set in a world where Americans are "still fighting the British for freedom," Deadline reports. The show comes from Jim Agnew and Sean Keller, who co-wrote the upcoming Nicolas Cage movie Tokarev, and, for once, a drama in development actually sounds like it has a really interesting premise for a show. Are other British colonies still under British rule, then? What is the state of global colonialism in general? What's the American Colonies' western border? Most important, what will ABC inevitably do to mess this up somehow?...

Exclusive: What if Americans had no Independence Day to celebrate? A drama project in development at ABC answers that question by building an alternative reality where the 13 colonies lost the 1775-83 Revolutionary War. Titled The Thirteen, the contemporary drama takes place in a world in which the colonies lost their bid for independence, and America is still fighting the British for freedom. The provocative project hails from Lionsgate TV and former Lionsgate Films head of production-turned-producer Allison Shearmur, who has a deal at the studio. It is being written by feature scribes Jim Agnew & Sean Keller, who penned the upcoming Nicolas Cage starrer Tokarev. This marks Shearmur’s second TV sale though Lionsgate this week — she also is producing an American Psycho sequel series which is in development at FX. Another drama series, NBC’s Revolution, also explores a world where the U.S. does not exist, broken up by a massive power shutdown.

Hannibal Classics has set Danny Glover, Peter Stomare, Aubrey Peebles, Patrice Cols and Max Fowler to join Nicolas Cage in the action thriller Tokarev. The film, which starts June 8 in Alabama, marks the American debut of Spanish helmer Paco Cabezas. Cage plays a reformed criminal whose daughter is kidnapped by the Russian mob. To find her, he must leave his respectable life behind, round up his old crew and seek his own brand of justice. Funding comes from Union Patriot Capital Management LLC. Image Entertainment has acquired North American rights and the Hannibal Classics sales division is selling it around the world. “We couldn’t be happier with our cast, a combination of audience favorites and fresh young talent, said Riionda Del Castro. Danny and Peter are recognized and loved all over the world. And in Max Fowler, Aubrey Peeples and Patrice Cols we feel we have found the stars of tomorrow.

Here's a little casting roundup of some leading men who have come aboard new projects in the past few days... Let’s not forget that Nic Cage was once a great actor, in fact he probably still could be if called upon, but it seems like that tax bill of his hasn’t been paid off quite yet. He’s signed up to star in yet another generic thriller, this time penned by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller (who also wrote Dario Argento’s wretched “Giallo”) and directed by Paco Cabezas (“Neon Flesh”). “Tokarev” will follow a former criminal on the hunt for his daughter’s kidnappers while trying not to slip back into his old violent ways. Sounds dull, but it’s another paycheck at least for Cage. Production starts in May. Sam Rockwell meanwhile will be following in the tried and tested footsteps of many great actors before...

Nicolas Cage doesn't feel like he's getting enough work these days, so he's signed on to star in another thriller called Tokarev. He will play a character named Paul Maguire in the film, a former crook "trying to find the kidnappers of his daughter and avoid falling back into his past."
Seems like your typical Cage movie. This will be the first American film from Spanish filmmaker Paco Cabezas, and he'll direct it from a script written by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller. It amazes me to see how much this guy works, and surprisingly he's one actor you never really see leave a project due to scheduling conflicts.

Nicolas Cage is well known for having, we’ll put this charitably, a liberal attitude when it comes to choosing scripts. Now another one has come his way and he’s set to play the lead in something called Tokarev.Neon Flesh director Paco Cabezas, who usually works in Spain, is making his American directing debut with the film. Jim Agnew and Sean Keller wrote the script, which finds Paul Maguire (Cage) as a former cop who is looking for his daughter’s kidnappers and trying to avoid the pitfalls of his past. So it’s Taken meets any number of previous Nic Cage thrillers? Well, we can certainly see why he might agree to star…Hopefully this one will have a better path to the screen than some of his recent efforts, which have been shunted to disc or ripped apart upon release. There’s no word on when Tokarev will get started,...

Action-time for Nicolas Cage! Once again, he’s on board to play a revenge-seeking guy in an upcoming indie thriller which comes from Spanish director Paco Cabezas. Simply titled Tokarev, the movie is already being described as a perfect Cage vehicle, with strong characters who are put through the ringer. We’ll see about that… Paco Cabezas will direct the movie from a script written by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller which centers on a former criminal searching for his daughter’s kidnappers and finding that slipping back into a violent life is often inevitable. Nicolas Cage is in talks to star in another generic revenge-seeking thriller. This one is being written by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller, two writers who haven’t done much in their careers.
According to Movie Hole, Hannibal Pictures is looking to get the Oscar winner to headline Tokarev. The film sounds very similar to Taken or Cage’s own Seeking Justice as it tells the story of a reformed crook (Cage) who returns home to discover that his daughter has been kidnapped.
For some reason, Cage seems to keep taking any script that falls into his hands. His last several films have been trashed by critics and audiences and it puzzles me as to why he keeps making poor career choices. Sometimes, it’s hard to remember that Cage has done some great films in the past and as mentioned before, he does have an Oscar under his belt.

Giallo; Unknown; Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son; Country Strong
Following the resolution of a release-delaying financial dispute between producers and leading man Adrien Brody, it would be excellent to report that director Dario Argento's latest has been worth the wait. Sadly, the belated straight-to-dvd premiere of Giallo (2009, Lionsgate, 18) does nothing to enhance the reputation of Italy's former horror maestro. On the contrary, with its sub-Saw leering gore and crassly unimaginative exploitation aesthetic, this looks more like the work of a hacking fan boy than of the father of stylishly extreme modern cinema.
Oscar-winner Brody stars as special agent Enzo Avolfi, an unconvincingly troubled soul with a late-revealed (and, sadly, laughable) back story which affords him a dangerous empathy with his prey. In a pun-tastic play upon generic labels (Argento's touchstone oeuvre is commonly referred to as "giallo", after the yellow covers of pulp crime paperbacks), said prey turns...

Game Of Death
Stars: Wesley Snipes, Zoe Bell, Robert Davi, Gary Daniels | Written by Jim Agnew & Megan Brown | Directed by Giorgio Serafini
What happened to Wesley Snipes? Once one of the biggest action stars in Hollywood and heading up the hugely popular Blade movies, it seems his star was extinguished the day he was arrested for tax fraud and Snipes now has to work his way back into the graces of one of the most infamously cutthroat industries on the planet.
Which is why Game of Death happened. The film sees CIA assassin Marcus (Snipes) sent opn a mission to take out an arms dealer (Robert Davi as the lazily named Smith) only to have his back up (among them Zoe Bell of Death Proof fame) turn on him.
You’d think with such a generic actioner plot that the filmmakers were simply looking for a script they could hang...

It may be an action film, although given genre badass and babe Zoe (Death Proof, Bitch Slap, Angel of Death) Bell’s inclusion, we thought we’d clue you in on her latest feature, director Giorgio Serafini’s upcoming Game of Death. Starring opposite Wesley (Blade) Snipes, Bell chatted with Dread recently regarding her turn in the Detroit-lensed film, which at present is wanting of a release date.

For a lot of us watching the career of Japanese director Ryuhei Kitamura is like breaking up with your favorite girlfriend. There was so much promise to the relationship. At first there were plenty of good times, thrills and laughs. But then things got stale in the relationship; you were doing the same thing over and over again. She would go on and on and on, just didn’t know when to shut up. And then she dumped you for that asshole Hollywood cause he’s got a shinier, newer car than you. She’s a bitch but [sobs] you still love her man!
Well, Kitamura always wanted to go to Hollywood and make Big movies and honestly there are few other Japanese directors who could have made that transition, let alone as easily as he did, and make hollow but kinetic action films that serve more as eye candy than anything else.

Shock Till You Drop has some fun news: Ryuhei Kitamura, who made a name for himself with the fun low-budget Japanese film Versus and recently directed Midnight Meat Train, is directing a film called Teratoma. The writers are Jim Agnew and Sean Keller, who penned Dario Argento's upcoming Giallo. (And that gives me pause, since the early Giallo reviews haven't been wildly positive.) A teratoma is a type of tumor in which other...growths...can be identified: hair, teeth, even eyes and limbs. That could put the film right into the realm of body horror, a sub-genre that doesn't get enough attention these days. Joel Soisson, of co-producers Neo Art & Logic, says "Teratoma is The Fly meets Rosemary's Baby." We've seen teratomas in movies before -- the Romero adaptation of Stephen King's The Dark Half comes to mind -- but hearing that Kitamura is doing a film based...

Ryuhei Kitamura isn’t going to let the awful experience of “Midnight Meat Train” stop him from trying to conquer the American horror scene, it would appear, because he’s just signed on to direct a new horror flick called “Teratoma” for the boys at Jaz Films and Neo Art & Logic. The latter company is run by Joel Soisson, the prolific producer/director of direct-to-dvd horror sequels to borderline successful franchises “Dracula 2000″, “Feast”, and “Pulse”, among many others. Soisson calls the film: “Teratoma is The Fly meets Rosemary’s Baby.” Styd says Kitamura, most famous to Western audiences for his cult zombie-Samurai-splatter action flick “Versus”, will be directing from a script by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller. The duo’s previous credits include Dario Argento’s “Giallo” and a pass on John Carpenter’s upcoming return to horror, “The Ward”. Teratoma is a kind of tumor, and if you google it,...

"Body horror" is a term lovingly bandied about when talking about the works of David Cronenberg, or in some instances, Frank Henenlotter.
