The Chattanooga Film Festival Conjures First Wave: "Hot on the haunted heels of their tenth-anniversary announcement, organizers of The Chattanooga Film Festival (Cff) have once assembled a first wave of strange and fantastic cinema for their hybrid edition this year.
First up is the North American premiere of a film primed to knock the socks off Cff’s longtime fans - filmmaker Jonas Trukanas‘ perfectly executed Lithuanian slasher We Might Hurt Each Other. Trukanas' briskly paced hoot of a horror film is one of this year’s true standouts and another title presented by Screambox. We Might Hurt Each Other has all the makings of a deeply satisfying cult classic.
Closing out the festival for those attending in person this year is Trim Season, marking the return of filmmaker Ariel Vida, who first attended Cff in 2019 with a secret screening of Vide Noir. Her latest combines a terrific ensemble cast,...

Exclusive: Bryce and Jackie Zabel’s Stellar Productions is teaming with fledgling La production and management firm Alta Global Media on TV series Captured, based on the landmark 1961 alien abduction case of Betty and Barney Hill.
The project will chart the story of the interracial couple from Portsmouth, New Hampshire, who said they were captured by a UFO on the night of September 19, 1961. The story of the black postal clerk and white social worker who claimed to have met extraterrestrials became a media sensation, and culminated in a 1975 made-for-tv film starring James Earl Jones and Estelle Parsons.
The project was previously set up by Zabel (Atlantis: The Lost Empire) with Gotham Group as a film but now has new life with Steven Adams (A Huey P. Newton Story) and Theo Dumont’s Alta, which launched earlier this year with clients including Pedro Alonso (Money Heist), Gary Dourdan (CSI), Tamara Tunie...

Surgeon General Jerome Adams and Fox News host Chris Wallace sparred today over Adams’s choice of words during a Sunday interview on the pandemic shutdown. The conversation provoked an unusual amount of mudslinging online between the two sides of the political aisle.
During the conversation, Adams defended the fact that nine states have not issued shut down orders, and likened the coronavirus to cigarette smoking. Wallace leaped on that comment, saying one is done by choice, the other acquired.

Adams fell into word salad by talking about a report on tobacco cessation released earlier this year. “And we know that states have different laws there.

Even before we put the spotlight on Robert Pattinson, tMF has been covering the acting career of fellow British actor Tom Sturridge (http://themovie-fanatic.com/hotlist/rising_stars/tom_sturridge/). Following a fantastic performance in Like Minds - together with another favorite, Eddie Redmayne - we were disappointed when the producers of Jumper replaced Tom with the more popular but definitely less talented Hayden Christensen. Now, in a bizarre coincidence of sorts, Tom will be appearing in a new movie with Rachel Bilson (who replaced another actress previously cast in Jumper). Here's the good news for all Tom Sturridge fans - this was just posted by The Hollywood Reporter (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/film/news/e3i324d533915afe51bafbd5fc55f77357e): Tom Sturridge is starring in Waiting for Forever, an indie romantic comedy being directed by James Keach. Joining Bilson are Tom Sturridge, Jaime King, Nikki Blonsky, Scott Mechlowicz, Riley Smith, Blythe Danner and Richard Jenkins. That’s quite a cast Keach has lined up.
Sturridge stars as the lead character, a young man who prefers not to work and decides to reconnect with his childhood love, a TV actress living in Hollywood (Bilson).
Keach is directing a script by Steve Adams. The low-budget film heads into production next week.
Sturridge’s acting credits include “Vanity Fair” and “Being Julia.” King will next be seen in Frank Miller’s “The Spirit.” As for Blonsky, she starred in last ear’s hit musical “Hairspray.”...

The lovely Rachel Bilson will be pined for yet again in the new independently-produced romance, Waiting for Forever. Bilson, late of Jumper, will be seen in next year's New York, I Love You, though her film career hasn't exactly exploded.
The film is about an unemployed guy who figures that's an A-OK way to go through life, so long as he's got a beautiful actress to pay his bills. The script is by Steve Adams, and James Keach will produce. Keach has directed plenty of times before, most recently Blind Dating with Chris Pine, but he's probably better known as a producer for films like Walk the Line.
Variety reports that the production will start up sometime in the next, oh, week, headquartered in Salt Lake City. The role of the lazy boyfriend hasn't been cast just yet.
And if you're thinking I only posted this story to run a gratuitous photo of Rachel Bilson,...

Rachel Bilson has signed on to star in James Keach’s upcoming indie romance “Waiting for Forever,” according to Variety.
The film, written by Steve Adams, follows a young man who prefers not to work and decides to spend the rest of his life with a TV actress living in Hollywood.
Bilson’s big-screen credits include “The Last Kiss,” “Jumper” and the upcoming “New York, I Love You.” She’s also known for playing Summer Roberts on television’s “The O.C.”
I know at these early stages it’s hard to come up with plot details, but right now, “Forever” doesn’t sound all that exciting to me. I mean, there’s gotta be a little bit more to this story of a man who simply decides to live with his love.
Maybe we’ll get a better taste of this romance soon. Then again, with the good-looking Bilson in one of the lead roles,...

Rachel Bilson has been picked up to play the female lead in James Keach's romantic drama, "Waiting For Forever". Produced by Trevor Albert and James, the movie is set to go into production at the end of September in Salt Lake City.
Off a script by Steve Adams, the upcoming big screen mainly speaks of a young man who's happy without a job and decides to spend the rest of his life with his love, a 25-year-old Hollywood actress who is played by Rachel. Unfortunately, there hasn't been any announcement yet concerning the actor that will play the male lead.
Rachel was last seen in "Jumper" landing the part of Millie Harris. After that, she has appeared in one of the segments from upcoming film, "New York, I Love You", which is scheduled to hit the theaters next year, on February 13.
