Image
The Chrisley family will soon be back, even with its patriarch and matriarch still locked up.

Days of our Lives Spoilers May 21: Sarah Blasts Xander
Image
Days of our Lives spoilers for Wednesday, May 21 prove that Sarah can dish it out, but she can’t take it, as she berates Xander for keeping the truth from her — and she keeps the truth from him.

Next on Days of our Lives

Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) knew that Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) had stolen half of Xander’s (Paul Telfer) inheritance from him, but she kept quiet because she didn’t want Xander to go into a violent rage.

Now, Sarah knows that Xander was only looking to buy University Hospital because he wanted to get his hands on the anti-sepsis drug Jeffrey (Michael Dietz) is developing. So she goes into a (less than violent) rage. Sarah is a bit of a hypocrite. Though she was right about Xander going all fists of fury on Philip. But that was about something else. And Sarah isn’t going to like this,...

Kathryn Newton books her next horror movie role—and this one's a creature feature
Image
Scream queen Kathryn Newton has booked her next scary movie and this one is a survival thriller about college friends terrorized by a bull shark.

Deadline reports that Newton will co-star with Lana Condor in Devil's Mouth, a co-production between Amazon MGM Studios and Lionsgate. While on a trip to Thailand, two friends become "trapped in an underwater cave system with a bull shark. Old tensions and power struggles resurface as they fight to survive."

Honestly, it's not the most original of storylines. It sounds very similar to 47 Meters Down: Uncaged, which followed teen girls swimming into sunken Mayan ruins and getting trapped within the underwater labyrinth of caves while surrounded by sharks. But I'm willing to give Devil's Mouth a chance, if only because Newton usually picks pretty good scripts.

This one is written by Myung Joh Wesner (High Potential) and Aja Gabel (The Staircase). Another positive for...

‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Review: Familiar Fun with Fresh Kills
Image
A scene from ‘Final Destination Bloodlines’

For 25 years and through five movies, the Final Destination franchise has been making people afraid to drive behind logging trucks and relax in tanning beds. It’s made me personally think twice about laser eye surgery, that’s for sure. And the hits keep coming, all the way up to and including the newest installment, Final Destination Bloodlines.

Final Destination Bloodlines is about a young woman named Stefani Reyes (Kaitlyn Santa Juana from The Friendship Game) who is plagued by a recurring nightmare about the collapse of a high-rise restaurant that kills hundreds of people. After a little investigation, Stefani discovers that her dream is actually a premonition that was had by her grandmother, Iris (Stargirl’s Brec Bassinger), that helped Iris save those hundreds of lives.

Final Destination fans see where this is going.

All of the lives saved by Iris wound up “cheating death,...

William Brent Bell
Stay Alive (2006) Movie Ending Explained & Themes Analyzed: Why does the Countess Bay for Blood?
William Brent Bell
It’s always somewhat interesting to dissect a film that was once considered good but developed rust over time. The real challenge, though, is extracting meat from something that’s been bad in thought and form since inception. With the former, there’s at least a pattern to trace—some evolution in us even as the film devolves. But there are more films than one would expect that manage to be timeless in how unserious and awful they are.

William Brent Bell’s “Stay Alive,” a so-called ‘techno-horror’ that’s really just a stockpile of the most dreary and campy supernatural clichés, is a prime specimen. Best remembered as the first release from Hollywood Pictures after a five-year hibernation (a label that quietly died the next year anyway), the film orients itself around the aesthetics and rhythms of the millennial generation. And yet, it captures its prevailing fascinations with such...

The One Dramatic Role That Helped Adam Scott Land Severance
Image
If you're a longtime fan of Adam Scott, you probably know him best for his comedic roles. Think of his douchey "Step Brothers" character Derek, or his hilariously awful Bad Place demon from "The Good Place," or his exasperated struggling actor Henry Pollard on "Party Down" -- or, most famously, his lovable but goofy Ben Wyatt on NBC's beloved sitcom "Parks and Recreation." So how did this funny guy end up starring in one of TV's biggest dramas? Specifically, "Severance," the massively successful and critically adored Apple TV+ drama spearheaded by Dan Erickson and Ben Stiller.

I should get one thing out of the way here, which is that "Severance" is, at times, very funny. Even in its season 2 finale "Cold Harbor," Scott's character Mark S. gets some genuinely hilarious moments, including one where he's confusedly waving a gun at a freaked-out Sandra Bernhard. Still, the show is much...

‘Final Destination Bloodlines’ Review – Death’s New Cycle Favors Fun Over Suspense
Image
Death begins a new cycle in Final Destination Bloodlines, the sixth entry of the film series that’s known for its elaborate Rube Goldberg machine-style deaths. The catch here is that Death may be more ambitious than ever, aiming to snuff out an entire family’s bloodline after its matriarch evaded its grasp decades prior.

That presents clear shifts in the Final Destination formula, including an emphasis on its family theme and a dedication to lighthearted fun over palpable, drawn-out suspense. Death’s daunting ambition is more impressive in scope than in execution, though.

Bloodlines kicks off with the requisite inciting catastrophe that sees one woman, Iris (Brec Bassinger), embarking on an exciting new chapter of her life at the opening of the Skyview Restaurant Tower. What should be the happiest day of her life instead turns into a brutal nightmare when a chain of events, beginning with a small,...

Ethan Hawke and Margaret Qualley in Blue Moon (2025)
Richard Linklater’s Blue Moon Secures October Release Amid Cannes Spotlight
Ethan Hawke and Margaret Qualley in Blue Moon (2025)
Sony Pictures Classics has scheduled Blue Moon, Richard Linklater’s latest film, for release on October 17 in New York and Los Angeles, with a broader rollout planned for October 24. The biographical drama centers on lyricist Lorenz Hart, one half of the iconic Rodgers and Hart songwriting duo, during a pivotal evening in 1943.

Set almost entirely at Sardi’s Restaurant, the film unfolds on the night Oklahoma! premiered on Broadway—Rodgers’ first collaboration with Oscar Hammerstein II after parting ways with Hart. Ethan Hawke plays Hart, who reflects on his legacy and confronts the emotional toll of professional displacement. The cast includes Margaret Qualley, Bobby Cannavale, and Andrew Scott.

The story takes place over a single night, capturing the personal and artistic reckoning of a man witnessing the reshaping of American musical theater without his involvement. Hawke and Linklater, long-time collaborators, team up for the ninth time on this project. Their...

Here’s What AnnaLynne McCord Thinks of a Chad/Cat Pairing on Days of our Lives
Image
Despite coming onto the scene as an impostor trying to fool everyone that she was Abigail come back to life, Cat exudes humility on Days of our Lives. She’s worked very hard to change Chad’s perception of her, since it was the villain Clyde Weston who forced her to impersonate the dead woman, and she feels bad for her actions. As things start to thaw between them and sparks fly, the stories have opened themselves up to a possible pairing, and AnnaLynne McCord had some things to say about it.

A Hopeless Romantic

McCord recently opened up to Soap Opera Digest about the possibility, and was asked if Cat and Chad (Billy Flynn) could one day have a regular relationship. She remarked that Cat is constantly looking for the hope that she and Chad will get together, hilariously remarking that she finds hope in nearly everything. “The wind blows,...

Image
Tucker & Dale vs. Evil director Eli Craig is back in the realm of slashers with Clown in a Cornfield, the adaptation of author Adam Cesare‘s young adult slasher novel. This time, the filmmaker is taking a much more serious approach that showcases suspense with the gory kills.

Clown in a Cornfield slashes into theaters on May 9, and stars Katie Douglas (Ginny & Georgia), Carson MacCormac (Shazam!), Aaron Abrams (Hannibal), Will Sasso (The Three Stooges), and Kevin Durand (Abigail).

In the film, Katie Douglas stars as Quinn, a young teen who’s recently moved to the quaint town of Kettle Springs with her father, only to discover something is seriously amiss with the place when the mascot of the defunct Baypen Corn Syrup Factory returns to kill. Again and again.

Clown In A Cornfield Interview: Kevin Durand On His Antagonist Role In Killer Clown Movie (Exclusive)
Image
Kevin Durand is a chameleon-like actor, disappearing into the roles he takes on. Whether it's The Blob in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Gabriel in Legion, or Proximus Caesar in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, he never fails to deliver a quality performance.

Next up for the Abigail star is Clown in a Cornfield, filmmaker Eli Craig's fun new horror movie based on the 2020 novel of the same name by Adam Cesare.

Durand plays Arthur, a big shot in his small town who has some very specific ideas about the way things should be. That leads him into a conflict with the local teenagers, all while a deranged killer clown is picking them off one by one.

We recently got to speak with Durand about working on Clown in a Cornfield, learning what it is he enjoys about playing the antagonist, why this project spoke to him, and what...

We’ll get to see how well this troubled duo fares against Satan when XYZ Films gives The Ritual a North American theatrical release on June 6th, with Altitude giving audiences in UK and Irish cinemas the chance to see the movie a week earlier, on May 30th. Al Pacino and Dan Stevens Are Priests in Exorcism True Story for ‘The Ritual’ Trailer
Image
Dan Stevens, who has become synonymous with indie horror, is paired with icon Al Pacino for the ultimate exorcism film, “The Ritual.” The duo star as two priests who “face the ultimate test of faith,” as the logline teases. The film is based on the true story that was captured in 1935 book “Begone Satan!” about a Church-sanctioned exorcism. The original account of the events went on to inspire “The Exorcist” book and William Friedkin’s famed 1973 film that later spurred a franchise.

The official synopsis for “The Ritual” reads: “When the Church sanctions the exorcism of Emma Schmidt (Abigail Cowan), two priests — divided by doubt — must confront a force beyond comprehension… and their own faith.” Ashley Greene and Patricia Heaton co-star.

Pacino recently told Entertainment Weekly that after starring in “The Ritual,” he can finally watch Friedkin’s “The Exorcist.” Pacino worked with the late auteur on “Cruising,” which was...

Director Deák teams with cinematographer Sándor Tóth to frame rural Hungary and decaying Soviet‑style apartment blocks as landscapes of peril. Matt Devere stars as Cassius, a battle‑scarred protector, while Luca Papp embodies Abigail, the orphan he rescued amid an airport massacre.

The story ignites with a sudden outbreak at an international terminal: infected travelers surge through sterile halls, forcing Cassius to shoot Abigail’s reanimated mother and brother in a moment that forges their bond. A ten‑year leap follows, revealing the pair eking out existence in forest encampments, haunted by sprinting “ferals” whose snarls recall the monstrous metaphors in Indian parallel films.

Tóth’s lens captures empty streets lit by dawn’s chill, suggesting the uncanny stillness of Mumbai’s abandoned lanes during academic strikes.

Image
When you start digging around to find out who shot one of the town’s villains, you might find himself in the crosshairs yourself on Days of our Lives.

Roving Reporter

Since Leo (Greg Rikaart) hit Salem, he has gotten himself into a ton of tricky situations. Now, he is investigating the shooting of town pariah Ej Dimera (Dan Feuerriegel).

On the May 1 episode, Gabi (Cherie Jimenez) caught Leo going through her purse. While Leo told a lot of lies to get himself out of the being caught, Gabi also accused him of stealing the memory card out of Rafe’s (Galen Gering) camera. After Javi (Al Calderon) and Gabi left, Leo started dictating notes stating that he thinks Gabi is the number one suspect in Ej’s shooting. He also suspects Johnny (Carson Boatman), Ava (Tamara Braun), Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and Rafe.

If I were Leo, I’d watch my back.

Chris Jericho Turned into Jean-Claude Van Damme to Teach Vince’s Son a Lesson

After 30 years in the pro wrestling business, Chris Jericho remains one of the top in-ring performers. In addition to providing entertainment for the audience, he also makes his opponents “look good” in the ring. Jericho has been a veteran of the ring and has worked for companies like WCW, Njpw, WWE, and now Aew. The man is known for adapting and changing when things go a bit stale.

With his patience and reputation, Jericho has remained a precious co-worker to many. However, there was one time when even the ‘Le Champion’ lost his cool. The culprit was none other than Shane McMahon.

What Do Lucille Ball & Goldie Hawn Have to Do With Days of Our Lives?
Image
Comedy is a key element in making entertaining TV shows and films. While some soaps in the past have been traditionally very serious, comedic breaks between the drama help balance the tension and add levity when needed. On Days of Our Lives, the story of Cat pretending to be a not-dead Abigail was very serious. But now that the story’s over, her portrayer AnnaLynne McCord can cut loose a little bit. She recently talked about inserting comedy into the drama.

Icons Inspired Her

McCord opened up to Soap Opera Digest about the various types of people she’s portrayed over the years, stating that she’s “played villains, or villainous characters, my entire career.” In Salem, Cat is still looked at with scorn by many people for her Abby deception. But the general opinions of her have cooled off since it was revealed that the dastardly Clyde (James Read) forced her to do it.

Al Pacino Battles Demons in True Exorcism Horror ‘The Ritual’
Image
The devil is in the details this summer as The Ritual, a harrowing supernatural horror rooted in historical fact, arrives in UK and Irish cinemas on 30 May. Starring screen icon Al Pacino and genre regular Dan Stevens, the film is inspired by the infamous case of Emma Schmidt, whose documented exorcisms in 1928 remain some of the most chilling accounts in American religious history.

Directed by David Midell and co-written with longtime collaborator Enrico Natale, The Ritual promises to deliver a grounded yet terrifying portrait of spiritual warfare. Pacino steps into the role of Father Theophilus Riesinger, a German-American priest whose real-life attempts to banish the demonic from Schmidt’s tormented body became legend within Catholic and paranormal circles alike. Stevens portrays Father Joseph Steiger, a younger priest whose scepticism and fractured past make him a reluctant ally in the fight for Emma’s soul.

The film also stars Ashley Greene...

The Ritual trailer: Al Pacino, Dan Stevens exorcism film is coming soon
Al Pacino
Al Pacino has played the Devil before (in the 1997 film The Devil’s Advocate), and earlier this year we learned that he would be playing an enemy of the Devil in the exorcism horror film The Ritual. Taking on the role of a troubled priest, Pacino stars in the film alongside Dan Stevens of Abigail and Godzilla x Kong, who also plays a troubled priest. We’ll get to see how well this troubled duo fares against Satan when XYZ Films gives The Ritual a North American theatrical release on June 6th, with Altitude giving audiences in UK and Irish cinemas the chance to see the movie a week earlier, on May 30th. With those dates swiftly approaching, a trailer for The Ritual has dropped online, and you can check it out in the embed above.

Based on a true story, The Ritual will center on two priests — one questioning his...
