Exclusive: Netflix’s hit series The Lincoln Lawyer has added Kyle Richards (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills), Jason Butler Harner (Ozark), and Scott Lawrence (Paradise) to its Season 4 guest cast.

The storyline was teed up at the end of the Season 3 finale of the hit legal drama when Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) was pulled over and arrested when the body of a client was found in the trunk of his Lincoln. Next season will see Mickey defending himself as he goes on trial for murder. He will face off with the prosecutor on the case, Dana Berg (Constance Zimmer), who has ties to his first ex-wife, Maggie (Neve Campbell).

Richards will play Celeste, described as Beverly Hills fabulous, who comes to Haller & Associates looking to hire Lorna as a divorce attorney after being referred by a previous satisfied client.

There are a lot of Stephen King adaptations yet to come this year alone. The Life of Chuck is my most-anticipated, even if it isn’t a horror adaptation, though I had plenty of gory fun with The Monkey earlier this year. That damned monkey might even appear on my year-end list, who knows? Still, Edgar Wright’s The Running Man is bowing later this year, and Francis Lawrence’s adaptation of The Long Walk is poised to release this fall.

That’s a lot of Stephen King, especially considering just how packed the past several years have been with adaptations, prequels, and Apple TV miniseries. The sheer volume makes it easy to miss some adaptations, no matter how good they are. One such example was David E. Kelley’s miniseries adaptation of Mr. Mercedes. The series is now streaming on Peacock, though it was a long, winding road to get there.

Sasha Alexander has joined the fourth season of Netflix’s “The Lincoln Lawyer” in the recurring role of FBI Agent Dawn Ruth.

Hulu has finally announced a premiere date for the second season of Nine Perfect Strangers starring Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman. The first season debuted way back in August 2021, and Hulu’s set a May 21, 2025 premiere date for season two.

Character actor Denis Arndt, who appeared in Basic Instinct, a slate of David E. Kelley shows and earned a Tony nomination for his role in Broadway’s two-hander Heisenberg, has died at the age of 86, his family announced in an obituary published Wednesday.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our dad, Denis Leroy Arndt,” the statement read. “He died peacefully in his bed in his beloved cabin home of almost 50 years in Ashland, Oregon; he wouldn’t have had it any other way.”

Born Feb. 23, 1939 in Issaquah, Wash., Arndt served as a helicopter pilot during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Purple Heart twice. Afterward, the soon-to-be prolific actor moved to Seattle, where a friend convinced him to audition for a local theater, paving the way to more onstage roles later in his career.

“Of course, Dad got the main role. And he was brilliant.

Denis Arndt, the familiar character actor who appeared on L.A. Law, Picket Fences and other shows for David E. Kelley and earned a Tony nomination for his turn opposite Mary-Louise Parker in the Broadway two-hander Heisenberg, has died. He was 86.

Arndt died Tuesday at his longtime cabin home in Ashland, Oregon, his family announced.

Arndt also portrayed the newlywed husband of Mary Tyler Moore’s character on the 1988 CBS sitcom Annie McGuire — Adrien Brody played his son — and he was one of the cops ogling Sharon Stone’s Catherine Tramell in the iconic interrogation scene in Paul Verhoeven’s Basic Instinct (1992).

Arndt started out with Kelley on NBC’s L.A. Law as lawyer Jack Sollers, who arrives in season five (1990-91) to represent the naughty Rosalind Shays (Diana Muldaur) in her sexual discrimination case against McKenzie Brackman.

He is a bestselling author whose novels have been adapted for the small screen several times. Coben's books tend to make for highly viewed Netflix series, including Fool Me Once and Missing You. Among his extensive writing credits are the Myron Bolitar series, which began in 1995 with the novel Deal Breaker. It has since had 11 novels total, which Netflix is working on adapting.

Exclusive: Emmy winner David E. Kelley, who created Netflix’s The Lincoln Lawyer based on Michael Connelly’s novels, is helping bring another popular book character by a bestselling author to the streamer. The prolific writer-producer has teamed with Harlan Coben to adapt his Myron Bolitar novels as a TV series, sources tell Deadline.

In addition to writing the script, Kelley and Coben are executive producing the potential series with David E. Kelley Prods. President Matthew Tinker. Netflix declined comment.

The project has been a priority for Netflix when it re-upped its overall deal with Coben in 2022. The original pact gave the streamer access to 14 Coben books to develop into English-language and foreign-language series as well as films. The 2022 pact added 12 more titles: Coben’s signature 11-book Myron Bolitar series as well as the standalone 2021 novella Win, for an adaptation as an ongoing, U.S.-based series.

Deadline reports that Jeff Daniels has joined the cast of the third season of Shrinking, Apple TV+’s acclaimed comedy series starring Jason Segel and Harrison Ford.

Co-created by Segel, Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein, Shrinking follows grieving therapist Jimmy (Segel), who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives, including his own. Harrison Ford stars alongside Jason Segel as Dr. Paul Rhoades, one of Jimmy’s colleagues at the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Center, who has Parkinson’s disease.

Daniels will play Jimmy’s father in a guest-arc for the new season. In addition to Segel and Ford, the main cast of Shrinking includes Christa Miller, Jessica Williams, Luke Tennie, Michael Urie, Lukita Maxwell, and Ted McGinley.

Exclusive: Veteran TV director-producer Lesli Linka Glatter has been tapped to direct the pilot and executive produce Apple TV+’s new limited series Imperfect Women, starring and executive produced by Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington.

Adapted for television by Physical creator Annie Weisman from Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name, Imperfect Women is an unconventional, psychological thriller examining a crime that shatters the lives of a decades-long friendship of three women. Kate Mara stars alongside Moss and Washington.

Weisman is executive producer/showrunner. Moss and Lindsey McManus executive produce via their production company Love & Squalor Pictures, who initially optioned the book. Bruce French, a veteran of the stage and prolific character actor who worked with David E. Kelley and appeared in NBC’s aughts soap Passions across the entirety of its nine-season run, died Feb. 7 at the age of 79.
