In an exclusive interview with MovieWeb, we asked Roma Downey if there was any interest in bringing back the beloved 90s drama series Touched by an Angel. Downey, who starred in the original series as the kind-hearted angel, Monica, revealed that she is asked about a revival “a lot.” However, she added that, due to two of the most prominent stars of the show, Della Reese and John Dye, having sadly passed away, bringing back Touched by an Angel would be no easy task.

Amanda Peterson, a TV and film actress best remembered for playing the love interest of Grey’s Anatomy‘s Patrick Dempsey in 1987’s Can’t Buy Me Love, has died at age 43.

Though a cause of death has not been confirmed, Peterson’s family tells TMZ that she recently suffered from several medical issues, including pneumonia, sleep apnea and sinusitis. Her body was discovered on July 5.

Peterson’s most notable television work was as on NBC’s A Year in the Life, which started as a 1986 miniseries before being turned into a drama series the following year; it lasted one season.

The 1994 CBS series Touched by an Angel boasted many classic episodes, such as the one about the regretful father, and also the one about the dying lady. But for my money, the all-time greatest was the ninth mid-season finale in which all the angels unsheathed giant blades and slaughtered each other in the streets. Personally, I will never forget the image of Della Reese stumbling into a Sunday-school class and spraying a children's choir with her gaping neck wound. Or Roma Downey waving a katana above her head and then falling beside the lifeless corpse of John Dye. Many questioned where the rest of the season could possibly go after that, and to be fair, it ended up being pretty boring. But that episode was truly riveting. Beloved U.S. TV star John Dye has died at the age of 47. The actor, best known for playing angel Andrew in the drama "Touched by an Angel", passed away at his San Francisco, California home on Monday, January 10 after suffering heart failure.

Dye racked up a number of TV credits during his career with appearances on shows including "Murder, She Wrote", "Promised Land" and "The Young and the Restless". His "Touched by an Angel" co-star Valerie Bertinelli has since taken to her Twitter.com page to pay tribute to Dye, writing, "Dear, sweet John Dye, rest in peace."

The cause of death has not been determined, medical examiner's investigator Charles Cecil said, but relatives said Dye suffered apparent heart failure. A spokeswoman for E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory said funeral arrangements were incomplete.

John Dye, who played angel Andrew on 'Touched By An Angel' for nine seasons, has died.

The actor passed away from heart failure in California on Monday. He was 47.

The Mississippi-born actor co-starred with Roma Downey and Della Reese on the hit CBS show from 1994 to 2003, and was a regular on shows including 'Tour of Duty,' 'Jack's Place' and 'Hotel Malibu.'

He also appeared on 'Murder, She Wrote,' 'Promised Land,' and ''The Young & The Restless,' as well as the TV movies 'The Billionaire Boys Club,' 'Once Upon A Christmas,' and its sequel, 'Twice Upon A Christmas.'

Q: I´ve been reading the Kathy Griffin book and while it was much less fun than I was hoping for, there was something that really annoyed me -- besides the fact that in her world "the gays" is a synonym for hair dresser or shopping buddy.
