When you give your movie a name like “Gunpowder Milkshake,” you are making a very specific promise to potential audiences: This thing is going to be violent as hell and somehow hilariously adorable too. I have no idea if the actual movie will deliver but I’m pleased to report that the official trailer definitely does.
Per the official logline, in the film “a secret sisterhood of female assassins, over the course of a single night, fight to stop a cycle of violence while coming to the aid of a mother-daughter assassin duo.” Karen Gillan stars as Sam, the daughter part of that duo and the newest member of that sisterhood, with Lena Headey playing her mom.
And based on this delightful trailer, we’re guessing the plot kicks off when Sam decides not to kill her latest target, a young girl. Jokes and a ton of brutal violence ensues.

The Chainsmokers played a rare, semi-private, hometown L.A. show this week as a partnership with Pepsi, celebrating the brand’s history with pop music. The set nodded at Michael Jackson and Britney Spears, but it got the Party Report thinking bigger…
This was the marquee at the Palladium in Hollywood. Where else do we see this kind of billing?
…At the Super Bowl Halftime show, sponsored for the last several years by Pepsi. Could the guys behind “Closer,” “Paris,” “Somthing Just Like This,” and “Roses” be headed that way?
Before you say “no way, not big enough,” this prominent show (with a Sunset Blvd. mural) was billed as a concert with “Special Guests”. The surprises turned out to be Kehlani and up-and-comer Max. The NFL has done a halftime-by-committee a few times in recent years. If they do it again, these could be the guys to anchor it from the DJ booth.

She's had date nights with hubby Josh Duhamel since they had son Axl Jack in August. But Fergie got a little girl time on Wednesday night, catching up with Rose McGowan and China Chow at a cocktail party and dinner in Los Angeles. Leaving hubby and baby at home, the Black Eyed Peas frontwoman, 38, hit up the Belvedere Vodka-sponsored Kenzo's "Kalifornia" bag launch party at the indoor Berrics Skate Park, which had been transformed into an elegant dinner venue and afterparty. Fergie, Chow and McGowan were seen taking selfies on their phones in front of the skate ramps. Newlywed McGowan,...

Newlyweds Kate Bosworth and Michael Polish had a night on the town in San Francisco on Wednesday. They stepped out for the opening of the Bulgari retrospective at the city's M. The fancy outing marked the first time we've seen the couple on the red carpet since tying the knot in a rustic Montana wedding over Labor Day weekend. Today, Mark Wahlberg is a big box office draw, an Oscar nominee, the producer of half of HBO, and the co-lead in this weekend’s bicep-fest Pain & Gain. But follow me, fellow travelers, to a different time and place. The time? The ’90s. The place? The ’90s. Mark Wahlberg’s role as a sensitive American Dreamer/porn star in Boogie Nights ensured that he had a bright future beyond Calvin Klein and the Funky Bunch.

I think it’s safe to say we’ve all heard Psy’s “Gangnam Style” so many times that the thought of one more rendition would be enough to drive us to the brink of collapse. But this week’s “Thanksgiving”-themed Glee — which found New Directions trying to recapture Sectionals glory, and Kurt and Rachel kikki-ing and carrying on amongst the drag queens and glitterati in Bushwick, Brooklyn — took that idea to shocking extremes.
Yes, folks, we have a real Glee cliffhanger — with wide-eyed Marley Rose, having starved herself into a ridiculous notion of “perfection” for New Directions’ big night,...

Bravo fans, reality television devotees, art lovers and people who just like watching people do weird stuff and call it art are in mourning Tuesday (Aug. 21) with the news that Bravo has canceled "Work of Art," according to Gallerist NY.

After two smart, surprising seasons, Bravo has cancelled its art-world competition show Work of Art, reports Gallerist NY. Producer Dan Cutforth is currently shopping the series to other networks, though he'll have to do it without the input of our art critic Jerry Saltz, who hung up his judging Spanx at the end of last season. At least the show leaves us with plenty of memories: Sucklord! Miles! The unborn fauns! The art challenges that should have been won every week by whatever China Chow was wearing! Good luck, Work of Art, and godspeed.

Alighiero Boetti: Game Plan Museum of Modern Art Through October 1, 2012 The ride downtown to Cana, the new restaurant in Tribeca, was slow -- traffic all the way. Lana called to confirm the reservations she had made earlier in the week. We finally arrived, only to find out that a wedding rehearsal dinner party (an Upper East Side couple who appear frequently on Page Six) had booked the place last-minute, filling up most of the good tables. Fortunately we were escorted to a large banquette in the back, which afforded us some privacy, at least. We were meeting some friends, including writer Alissa Bennett and the Norwegian artist Bjarne Melgaard, who had just come back from the Venice Biennial. There were several people I didn't recognize immediately, but I was quickly introduced to reality television show hosts Jerry Saltz and China Chow (who were there doing a tech scout for their...

Hosting an awards show requires plenty of costume changes, as Anne Hathaway proved at the 2011 Oscars (with plenty of help from Rachel Zoe).
But Kelly Osbourne truly stepped up to the plate as host of the NewNowNext Awards, held by Logo on Thursday night. But she didn't stay in it for long, switching into (among other things) a Dorothy costume, superhero-inspired outfit (cape included!), an awesome orange maxi skirt and a rather flattering black evening gown.

As 2011 swings around to its inevitable conclusion, the Rubbernecker feels the need (okay, you can call it an addiction) to fete this year's TV glories and gories. And there were quite a few of each. As you may know I have a fondness for the ticky-tacky known as Reality Television, I so love the term because it's so not anyone's reality I've ever known. So this recap will examine first the ridiculous... then the sublime.

'Work of Art' host China Chow and Beverly Hills Housewife Adrienne Maloof dropped by the clubhouse to hang out with Andy Cohen on Monday night's 'Watch What Happens Live' (Sun. & Mon., 11Pm Et on Bravo) and found out they had more in common than just their network.
Andy began reading a question from a viewer asking China if she used to date "Adrienne's Bff Marky Mark Wahlberg," and paused to ask China if the rumor was true. She confirmed it was, much to Adrienne's surprise. Adrienne had just posted a photo on her Facebook page of herself and her husband Dr. Paul Nassif out to dinner with Wahlberg.

China Chow was introduced to the Manhattan art world as a child when her father's restaurant, Mr. Chow, became the choice hangout for art legends including Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Robert Rauschenberg. Since then, Chow has made her mark as a model, muse, activist, actress and social network hub. She is now beginning her 2nd season as host and judge of 'Work of Art: The Next Great Artist' on Bravo, in which 14 contestants compete in art challenges for an exhibition at the Brooklyn Museum and $100,000. Bravo announced the cast of the second season of its awesome Work of Art, which will debut in October, and the reality competition series is keeping its host and judges, although one judge will only appear as a guest judge this season. Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn will be just a guest judge, while Jerry Saltz and Bill Powers will judge along with host China Chow; hopefully, they'll do a better job at critiquing this season, correcting...

Christian Schoonis, Benjamin Millepied, and Stefano Pilati. Yves Saint Laurent's cherished designer Stefano Pilati was in town last week to celebrate a night of vanity and fabulousness at Indochine to toast Benjamin Millepied (famed choreographer of Black Swan and father-to-be to Natalie Portman's new baby), who will be the new face of Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme Libre. Appropriately, in French, "Millepied" means "thousand feet"! So be free (libre), and take a leap with Benjamin and L'Homme Libre, as this gorgeous and sexy fragrance for men will stay with you for more than a thousand feet. Arizona Muse and Lindsey Wixson. Coogan's Tasty Restaurant Discount

Funnyman Steve Coogan knows he's lucky to be dating model/actress China Chow - he gets a discount at her father's plush restaurants.
The Night at the Museum star has been involved with Chow since 2007 but has never spoken publicly about the couple's relationship.
Now he has let slip one of the advantages of their romance - he gets money off meals at her dad Michael's swanky Chinese restaurant chain, Mr Chow.
Coogan tells Britain's Observer magazine, "The most expensive meal I've ever had would probably be at Mr Chow's in New York. Very expensive, but very tasty. I'm in a relationship with his daughter China now. I'm not talking about it. But it does mean I get a discount."...

When Bravo announced plans for an art-based reality competition, it seemed they were trying to squeeze more blood from a stone that dried up sometime after the first season of "Shear Genius" and well before "Launch My Line."
But "Work of Art: The Next Great Artist" ended up being one of the most unique offerings the network has put out in years, highlighting an eccentric niche of professionals and pushing them into situations where they could create thoughtful and diverse work -- a lot like the show that spawned it.
"Work of Art" captures the same excitement as the first season of "Project Runway," introducing a community foreign to most viewers and broadening their cultural perspective because of it. Like its predecessor, it even showcases work in a way that didn't leave us feeling as though we weren't experiencing the full effect. (Nothing but love for "Top Chef," but cooking...

Yesterday we all discussed our addictions to school supplies and the necessity of many colors of markers and pens to ensure a successful school year (or, in my case, something to use to color on my sneakers with when I got bored) today the Teen Choice awards are airing so let's be honest; what celebrity crush decorated your locker and/or notebooks? I'm not necessarily going for embarrassing, but that's always fun as is grossly inappropriate. For example, given certain precocious television viewing habits I had crushes on David Duchovny and George Clooney at age 10 because I was watching "The X-Files" and "E.R" pretty regularly. And when I was 12 or 13 I saw 10 Things I Hate About You for the first time and spent several years waiting for my perfectly not at all bad bad-boy with a hot accent to come along and fall for me despite my prickly somewhat antisocial exterior.

The daughter of a high-end restaurateur and a model/designer, China Chow knows all about good taste and great art. Which explains why the actress-model is the picture-perfect host and judge of TV's most creative competition Work of Art (Wednesday, 10/9c, Bravo), in which contemporary artists vie to win a solo show at the Brooklyn Museum of Art...

Last week Magical Elves, the geniuses behind Project Runway and Top Chef, joined up with Sarah Jessica Parker's production company Pretty Matches to give us another brilliant reality competition show—Work of Art: The Next Great Artist.
It's the same formula as the other shows, but this time painters, sculptors, performance artists, and photographers are competing for the grand prize. The model for those who don't know, put twelve artists in a room together, assign ridiculously difficult challenges that test their creativity and stamina, and see who rises to the top. The winner will get $100,000 and a private showing at the prestigious Brooklyn Museum.
They have a Tim Gunn-like mentor in art auctioneer Simon du Pury and a Heidi Klum-esque host in China Chow. Three judges—Bill Powers (a New York Gallery owner), Jerry Saltz (senior art critic for New York Magazine), and...

Welcome to “Work of Art,” Bravo’s latest attempt to recapture the reality show zeitgeist it arguably lost when Lifetime snatched “Project Runway” away. In this series, fourteen artists will compete to be named “the next great artist.” Okay, we see. This is “Project Runway: But With Paint!” The grand prize? A solo show at the “world-famous Brooklyn Museum” and $100,000. “This is the opportunity of a lifetime,” host China Chow says before we go into the credits—just like...

Work of Art, Bravo's new reality show, pits up-and-coming artists against each other — just like in the real world.
Bravo welcomes Sjp's new reality series
In the Sarah Jessica Parker-produced series, 14 designers who work in various mediums, compete for the chance to win a solo show at the Brooklyn Museum and $100,000 cash. Each week, a panel of judges, including New York Magazine art critic Jerry Saltz and British model-actress China Chow (who's also the show's host), critique the work and eliminate one artist.
But this is no stuffy museum piece, says Simon de Pury, an art auctioneer and Work of Art's mentor. "I think everybody ...

“Art is never finished, only abandoned.” - Leonardo Da Vinci I'll admit that my expectations for Bravo's newest reality competition series Work of Art were painfully low. After all, this seems just just the sort of series for which you can easily make a snide remark about it being less exciting than watching paint dry. But I have to say that I was extremely pleasantly surprised by Work of Art, which premieres tonight. Not only was it fast-paced and exciting, but it was slickly produced, thanks in part to the crack team at Magical Elves, which has once again worked its reality magic on this format. Art isn't the most accessible of topics, yet the show--which is hosted by China Chow--is just that: tearing away the sort of potential pretentiousness of its subject by allowing the audience to enter the minds of some gifted artists--each coming from different media--and participate in the artistic process.

More than two years after Sarah Jessica Parker's fierce appearance on a 'Project Runway' episode (eventual winner Christian Siriano was nearly eliminated!), Sjp returns to Bravo with 'Work of Art: The Next Great Artist'.
Through the summer, fourteen visual artists paint and pant through challenges, the winner earning a solo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. 'Sex and the City's' Parker is an executive producer on 'Art'.
Inspiration is everywhere. The setting for 'Work of Art' is New York, of course. Your host is actress China Chow, daughter of the legendary designer and muse Tina Chow. Playing the role of Tim Gunn will be the elegant and multilingual (French, German, Italian and English) auctioneer Simon de Pury.

Move over, Padma and Heidi. Let G.W. introduce you to the new China—the one, the only: China Chow. Come June 9, at 11 p.m., the model, the actress, the international style plate, and the forever “It girl” will enter the fray of Bravo TV as the face and force of a transformative show called Work of Art: The Next Great Artist. G.W. believes it will be Bravo’s most sophisticated presentation yet, as it attempts to bring “fine art dialogue to the forefront of pop culture.” Work of Art is the brainchild of Sarah Jessica Parker and her production company, Pretty Matches. It’s got an on-air team led not only by Chow, as the host, but highbrow art experts such as gorgon auctioneer Simon de Pury, who will mentor the 14 artists competing for a cash prize of $100,000 and a solo show at the prestigious Brooklyn Museum of Art.

Helloooo, model behaviorists! I missed you guys last week, so I thought maybe the Antm gods (demons) would reward me with a doubly-good episode, but, uh, guess not. Instead, we faced their wrath with the oddly dull, lifeless episode that was too busy product-placing itself to death to bother being interesting. I wanted to really learn -- once and for all! -- how to make a damn smokey eye. This and other unmet needs ahead! I spent the first 10 minutes or so trying to figure out who Kara looks like or reminds me of, and it's driving me insane. It's not quite Paulina Porizkova (almost?...

This week on America's Next Top Model, the 10 remaining petite models of Le Cycle 13 have their toughest challenge yet: posing for the world's craziest photographer... Tyra Banks.
Tyra will be draping each model in "vibrant fabrics" for this week's shoot, and famous petite model China Chow will help guest judge.
Who's most likely to channel the power of Smeyes, and who is next to say her goodbyes? (Hey, that rhymed!)
Don't forget to make your America's Next Top Model Fantasy TV picks before Wednesday afternoon! Remember, the winner of our league gets a free digital camera!
Here are my picks for who's safe, who's likely to sail through (at least for this week), and who should be scared she'll no longer be in the running to be America's Next Top Model.

Cult of the Week: Volume 12 It’s tough to be straight-edge. By virtue of being drug- and alcohol-free, the whole world thinks you’re some Christian hardcore kid from Boston who only speaks in Minor Threat lyrics. But on the other hand, you do get to picture the whole world as some sort of decadent, liverish imbecile, lounging about in its own sick while giggling moronically at passing shadows and shiny reflections. In this eternal struggle, we straight-edgers are blessed with mental clarity, rarefied by haughty elitism and unmarred by dignity-sapping Facebook photos of drunken Nickleback sing-alongs. But the bleary-eyed masses have a secret weapon: the drug movie [1]. There are two main types of drug films. The first is the stoned, peace-and-love, cars-that-run-on-organic-hopes-and-smiles hippie bullshit, like Dazed and Confused, Easy Rider, and every documentary that uses the phrase “quantum theory of possibilities.” Thankfully, while annoying, these films are fairly harmless,...
