Ben Affleck was on Harvey Weinstein’s “red flag list,” according to recently unsealed court documents.
Prior to the publication of bombshell reports, which ignited the #MeToo movement and led to the former movie mogul’s downfall, Weinstein kept a list of names of people he was concerned could be talking to journalists in 2017 about his sexual conduct with women. Affleck’s name appeared on that document, known as the red flag list, which was reviewed by Variety on Tuesday afternoon.
The list was part of roughly 1,000 pages of documents that were unsealed at the New York City criminal courthouse, ahead of Weinstein’s sentencing on Wednesday.
The doc was brought up during Weinstein’s seven-week trial, but only accuser Annabella Sciorra’s name was revealed to be on the list. The lead prosecutor requested that the list (which included both men and women) be provided to the jury so...

Validation, relief, gratitude and pride — those were some of the emotions expressed by a group of women who came forward with allegations of sexual assault at the hands of Harvey Weinstein in response to the disgraced producer’s conviction on Monday for rape and sexual assault.
The group of more than 20 women held a conference call Monday afternoon to share their reaction to the news earlier in the day that the once-powerful movie producer will likely face a minimum of five years in prison after being convicted on two of the five sexual assault charges he was facing.
“Today is a powerful day and a huge step forward in collective healing,” said Rose McGowan, who has accused Weinstein of raping her in 1997.
“The era of impunity for powerful men who rape people is over,” said Mira Sorvino, an Oscar-winning actor who saw her career derailed after allegedly rebuffing Weinstein’s advances.

A group of Harvey Weinstein’s alleged victims has issued a statement condemning remarks made by his attorney Friday night on ABC’s Nightline.
Weinstein appeared in a Manhattan court Friday for a bail hearing. Prosecutors sought to have his bail increased to $5 million from its current $1 million, arguing he violated his terms by allegedly tampering with an ankle monitor. Weinstein has pleaded not guilty to allegations of rape and sexual assault. He’s scheduled for a follow-up hearing on Wednesday.
The ongoing legal battle appears to be taking a toll on Weinstein’s health. He looked haggard upon exiting the court house and had to be supported by two aides to make it into a waiting vehicle. That night, ABC’s Nightline aired a segment featuring Weinstein attorney Donna Rotunno, who maintained that anything her client did was consensual. NBC News on Thursday night denied an accusation by a former producer that top executives tried to block Ronan Farrow’s 2017 exposé of Harvey Weinstein, calling the claim “an outright lie.”
“The assertion that NBC News tried to kill the Weinstein story while Ronan Farrow was at NBC News, or even more ludicrously, after he left NBC News, is an outright lie,” read the NBC statement.
Earlier Thursday, Rich McHugh, a producer formerly of the NBC News investigative unit, told the New York Times that people at “the very highest levels of NBC” worked to quash the story at the network.
McHugh said the network was “resistant” during the eight months or so that he and Farrow investigated Weinstein for the story. But in August 2017, when they were set to begin recording the accounts of Weinstein accusers on video, McHugh said the network abruptly pulled support.

In New York, where native son Harvey Weinstein is already under police investigation for his alleged serial harassment and abuse against women, Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Oct. 23 that he has opened his own investigation into Weinstein’s namesake former company. “No New Yorker should be forced to walk into a workplace ruled by sexual intimidation, harassment, or fear,” Schneiderman said in a statement. “If sexual harassment or discrimination is pervasive at a company, we want to know.” On Oct. 5, The New York Times reported that Weinstein had paid at least eight settlements to women who have accused him of everything from fostering an inappropriate workplace culture to rape. Over the next few days, The Weinstein Company hired lawyer John Kiernan to investigate, and fired its co-founder and co-chairman, who was said to be hampering Kiernan’s efforts. Lena Headey is recalling her encounters with Harvey Weinstein and how uncomfortable the Hollywood producer made her feel when they first met.
The Game of Thrones star recounted in a series of tweets posted on Tuesday that she first met Weinstein at the 2005 Venice Film Festival, where they were screening her film, The Brothers Grimm, claiming the producer asked her to take a stroll.
"I walked down with him and he stopped and made some suggestive comment, a gesture, I just laughed it off," Headey, 44, wrote, also alleging that she was "subjected to endless bullying by director Terry Gilliam." "I was genuinely shocked. I remember thinking, ‘It’s got to be a joke,'" she added.
She then suggested that they go back and grab a drink with the people they came with, noting that since the alleged incident she "was never in any other Miramax film."

Director: Jonathan Glendening. Writers: Pat Higgins and Phillip Barron. Cast: Robert Englund, Steven Berkoff and Lysette Anthony. In a movie that is tentatively tantalizing by its title alone, Strippers vs. Werewolves, to wait ‘30 days’ in the movie’s timeline before the real action begins is tough. Also, that is an awfully long time before the battle can begin. In that duration, one rat pack can easily dispense with another, and make several stops for snacks along the way. When Justice, an exotic dancer defends herself against Mickey, a gangster who goes feral with lust, she does not know what she has started. The silver tipped pen she uses to protect herself with kills him. That results in many problems for Vixens, the strip club, when the mobsters realize one of their own has fallen. Thankfully, the gangster’s death does not get discovered until hours later. The staff has time...

Film composer Simon Boswell has been found not guilty of assault after his actress partner Lysette Anthony accused him of punching her in a heated argument.
The Husbands and Wives star appeared at Highbury Corner magistrates' court in London on Tuesday and claimed Boswell attacked her during an alleged bust-up in their home in April.
She said, "The relationship had broken down two years earlier, but we kept trying to keep things better for our son. That evening I came downstairs from putting my son to bed and Simon was in a very black mood. He was in a really, really dangerous mood... It was getting heated and I was frightened..."
Boswell, who has composed film soundtracks including The Crying Game, denied attacking Anthony and claimed her bruises were the result of her attempt to jump out of their bedroom window.
He was found not guilty of assault, while the former model was denied a restraining order and ordered to pay defence costs.

As part of our Enchanted 80s week, we look back at the action family epic, Krull…
How can you remain objective about a film you enjoyed so much as a youngster? The answer, of course, is that you can't. And it's true that, when viewed in 2011, the influences of 80s fantasy film, Krull, are more apparent than ever. It borrows freely from Greek and Arthurian myths, Tolkien, and most noticeably, a certain sci-fi blockbuster directed by George Lucas.
And yet, at the same time, it's impossible for me to view Krull without a sense of genuine affection. This is made easier by the fact that, while it's showing its age in places, Krull is a well-made film, and an entire galaxy away from other cheap, quickly made knock-offs that showed up in the wake of Star Wars. This is probably thanks in large part to the experience of Peter Yates,...

Independent UK film producers Black & Blue Films has teamed up with actress Lysette Anthony to produce supernatural thriller Whisper, the first picture from Anthony’s new company PerfectFeatures. Jonathan Sothcott, Black & Blue’s MD said today:
We are delighted to be partnering with Lysette and her business partner Rachel Chatterjee for Whisper. They have identified and secured a genuinely excellent project that we are looking forward to bringing to the screen and we’re thrilled that they chose Black and Blue to help them with their feature debut. Lysette has been one of my favourite actresses for a long time and I’m especially thrilled that she’s going to be working with us.
Lysette Anthony added:
To be honest Rachel and I are a little overwhelmed. To have Black & Blue green-light us with the ink barely dry on our latest Whisper draft is, well, the stuff of movies.
