To ensure that a few films from the smaller film industries add this list overview, initially a very low LIMIT OF 5 CRORE is set again for the entry of films on this list. This value was originally chosen so low due to the strong influence of the corona virus pandemic with its associated restrictions and shutdowns on the box office, but it is also doing quite well in terms of film industry diversity.

All currency conversions are based on the exchange rate from January 1, 2023 in order to ensure equality when viewing. Numbers of votes from the IMDb given here are rounded up, as constant tracking is not possible with daily changes.

In addition, the list at the beginning of the year is also filled with some upcoming potential box office hits of the future, so that visitors can get a first impression of which highlights they can still expect this film year.

This is partly done through possibly paid fake accounts hired by the publicity departments of the respective studios and production labels in order to gain an alleged advantage in viewer favor over the competing films that were released in cinemas on the same day or weekend, but also through fanatic crowds of fans organized via social media platforms in order to do this for a variety of reasons which often include political or religious causes, and finally because of allegations of nepotism towards one of the main actors without counting their qualifying acting abilities, if they even have them.
