Blake and Cally require anti-radiation drugs for Avon, Gan, Vila and Jenna who have absorbed radiation on Cephlon. Travis and Servalan have also arrived on Aristo as they intend to claim Orac for themselves.BLAKE: “He also spoke of something called 'Orac' and claimed the Federation was willing to pay one hundred million credits to obtain it.”
BLAKE: “Well, if the Federation is prepared to pay one hundred million credits then Orac must be fairly important.”
BLAKE: “I think it's the importance the Federation is placing on Orac that bothers me.”
VILA: “Orac.”
AVON: “Presumably so that the Federation could get their hands on Orac without paying a hundred million.”
VILA: “So they'll be on their way to pick up Orac as fast as they can go, and that's fairly fast actually.”
ENSOR: “You, Orac, my friend, you.”
SERVALAN: “When we deliver Orac to the Federation they will be very grateful, and very generous, and it will be our success, ours alone.”
BLAKE: “No, we’d end up looking for each other as well as Orac and Ensor.”
BLAKE: “What about Orac?”
ENSOR: “Orac. Of course, yes, I can’t leave Orac here.”
CALLY: “Your son says 'The Federation is willing to pay a hundred million for Orac'.”
CALLY: “This is Orac?”
ENSOR: “Orac has access to the sum total of all the knowledge of all the known worlds.”
ENSOR: “It's a simple on/off device that activates Orac. Use it and Orac will advise you of every detail of the operation you intend to perform.”
SERVALAN: “Travis, forget Blake, find Orac, although they’ve probably taken it with them.”
SERVALAN: “Orac is the prize.”
SERVALAN: “That box - Orac - that’s what we came for.”
BLAKE: “No, I've got a better idea: we'll get a message through to the Federation, tell them that you let us take Orac.”
VILA: “Orac, be a good junk heap - shut up.”
BLAKE: “Orac, what are your limits?”
AVON: “So is Orac.”
VILA: “That’s fixed Orac.” - DirectorVere LorrimerStarsGareth ThomasSally KnyvettePaul DarrowAfter an attack by two unidentifiable spacecraft, the computers aboard Liberator turn on Blake and his crew through the intervention of the ship's original owners, who are controlled by a massive computer called The System.BLAKE: “Redemption.”
- DirectorJonathan Wright-MillerStarsGareth ThomasSally KnyvettePaul DarrowBlake tries to buy the services of the Terra Nostra organized crime syndicate in his struggle against the Federation. When his first effort fails, he decides to go after their biggest source of profit to gain leverage. That source is an illicit narcotic called shadow.LARGO: “Pure shadow.”
LARGO: “We owned you from your first tiny drop of shadow.”
BEK: “Use shadow?”
JENNA: “Shadow.”
BEK: “That’s what shadow does.”
JENNA: “A shadow?”
JENNA: “Shadow.”
AVON: “When the Federation introduced the death penalty for possession, the President described shadow as the greatest single threat to the welfare of mankind.”
ENFORCER: “It seems he’s been adding it to all the shadow that we supplied.”

AVON: “And since shadow is the basis of the Terra Nostra…” - DirectorGeorge Spenton-FosterStarsGareth ThomasSally KnyvettePaul DarrowAfter a researcher named Coser kills his superiors at the Federation's weapons development base, he escapes to a deserted planet with a new secret weapon called IMIPAK. Soon, both the Liberator's crew and Servalan are searching for him.FEN: “The leaders feared its potential as a weapon. But a weapon once created cannot be abandoned.”
SERVALAN: “The weapon is ours, and safe because it guards itself.”
BLAKE: “And logically, IMIPAK must be a weapon, and logically, Coser must have it.”
COSER: “Beta-grade technicians aren't supposed to be clever enough to develop a weapon like IMIPAK, only I did.”
SERVALAN: “To search for a dangerous psychopath with a highly effective secret weapon?”
SERVALAN: “If he’s cornered, he might destroy the weapon.”
TRAVIS: “Very effective weapon.”
TRAVIS: “The weapon guards itself.” - DirectorJonathan Wright-MillerStarsGareth ThomasSally KnyvettePaul DarrowThe Liberator arrives at the planet Horizon when the Liberator follows a Federation freighter. Blake and Jenna teleport to the surface, only to be taken captive by Federation guards. Shortly after Cally, Gan and Vila are also taken captive and forced to work in the mines. Avon decides to leave the crew on Horizon and take control of the Liberator, but instead, teleports to the surface to rescue them.ZEN: “Code named Horizon.”
BLAKE: “Horizon?”
BLAKE: “What are the surface conditions on Horizon?”
BLAKE: “Well, is there any information on Horizon?”
BLAKE: “Well, is the information on Horizon classified?”
CALLY: “You’re not going to follow the freighter all the way to Horizon?”
BLAKE: “That freighter’s gone to Horizon for some good reason.”
BLAKE: “Zen, have you any information on Horizon’s defences?”
ZEN: “Freighter approaching landing site on Horizon.”
BLAKE: “They code named this planet Horizon. It’s a horizon you’ll never cross.”
BLAKE: “But he didn’t call this place Horizon.”
AVON: “Orac, have you obtained any further information on the planet Horizon?”
AVON: “Orac, no further information is required on the planet Horizon.”
BLAKE: “Take me back to the Federation when you leave Horizon.”
ZEN: “A message from the Federation freighter on the planet Horizon.”
ZEN: “Message reads, "Top priority signal to any Federation pursuit unit, from Kommissar, planet Horizon. Request assistance. Ruler of Horizon unreliable, am disposing of him.””
ZEN: “From Federation Pursuit Flotilla Thirteen, to Kommissar, planet Horizon.”
SELMA: “All the scanners in the palace are off, everyone has fled, there is no electronic communication anywhere on Horizon.”

Avon meets up with enemy Del Grant, brother of Avon's former lover Anna, and tries to disarm the bomb, having to put aside his differences with Grant.CAUDER: “What’s the countdown?”
BLAKE: “Just one thing: if that countdown goes below fifty and the device is still primed, you will be teleported out.”
BLAKE: “Cauder, if there’s still no news from Avon when that countdown goes below fifty, I’m pulling out.”
BLAKE: “What’s the countdown?”
GRANT: “What’s the countdown?”
GRANT: “What’s the countdown?” - DirectorDerek MartinusStarsGareth ThomasSally KnyvettePaul DarrowThe Liberator sets a course for the planet Goth, where Blake, Jenna and Vila go in search of a amulet that belongs to the royal family, containing the location of Star One. But Travis too has arrived on Goth and is also after the amulet. To secure the amulet Blake agrees to rescue Rod, brother of the planet's ruler Gola.AVON: “True, but let us assume that the keeper of the secret is somewhere down there on the planet Goth, and that the keeper is a royal personage.”
TRAVIS: “We know the keeper of the secret is on Goth.”
JENNA: “The keeper of the secret may not even know that he, or she, is the keeper.”
TARA: “And you are asking me who the keeper is?”
JENNA: Once I know who the keeper is, I will go, I promise.”
TARA: “Yes, I would help you to go, if I knew who the keeper was.”
BLAKE: “Who is the keeper?”
BLAKE: “Who is the keeper?” - DirectorDavid MaloneyStarsGareth ThomasSally KnyvettePaul DarrowBlake leads the apprehensive crew of the Liberator out into intergalactic space to find and destroy Star One and cripple the Federation. What none of them realize is that Star One is already showing signs of sabotage. But since nobody but Blake's crew know the location of Star One, who could be causing it, and why?DURKIM: “Servalan, by accident or design, Star One is failing.”
SERVALAN: “Star One is the most secure installation in the Federation .”
SERVALAN: “Durkim, no one knows where Star One is.”
BLAKE: “So, if Lurgan's coordinates are correct Star One is somewhere in there.”
JENNA: “And however they built Star One it's not going to be so big that we can't miss it.”
AVON: “We can take Star One, let’s get on with it.”
BLAKE: “We are not going to use Star One to rule the Federation, we are going to destroy it.”
AVON: “When Star One is gone, it is finished, Blake.”
AVON: “When we have dealt with Star One, I will take you back to Earth and then the Liberator is mine, agreed?”
BLAKE: “Well, do we look for Star One?”
CALLY: “Many, many people will die without Star One.”
SERVALAN: “I am still waiting for your theories about where Star One may be located.”
DURKIM: “I can’t even guess where Star One is.”
SERVALAN: “She’s on Star One.”
SERVALAN: “None of the group could attempt to damage the systems, identify the location or contact anyone outside Star One without going obviously insane.”
SERVALAN: “So whatever is happening on Star One is happening against her will.”
CALLY: “Perhaps Star One doesn't come within detector range until we reach the coordinates.”
VILA: “Star One.”
AVON: “If this is Star One…”
AVON: “There are thousands of satellite generators out there, beyond Star One.”
ORAC: “The defence zone is controlled and monitored from the computer complex known as Star One.”
ORAC: “A cursory examination of the relevant Star One systems indicates that this defence zone is one of a number of such zones located at strategic points on the rim of that section of the galaxy colonized by mankind.” - DirectorDesmond McCarthyStarsPaul DarrowJan ChappellMichael KeatingThe Liberator is lured to Obsidian, a volcanic planet of strategic value, which is linked to rumours of Blake's whereabouts. Dayna has a potential ally among the pacifist population: its ruler, an old acquaintance of her father named Hower. Tarrant and Dayna teleport down in an attempt to enlist recruits to their rebellion, and establish a base from which to complete the destruction of the Federation and defeat Servalan. However, Servalan has enlisted a traitor.DAYNA: “The Volcano.”
TARRANT: “It all seems quiet enough if you don’t count the volcano.”
VILA: “That damn great volcano right in the middle of the planet.”
VILA: “The volcano.”
MORI: “So we don’t land in the volcano?”
VILA: “The volcano.”
CALLY: “I still think you’re too near the volcano.”
VILA: “Or maybe he landed in the volcano.”
VILA: “There isn’t a volcano alive that would dare swallow Avon.”
MORI: “That volcano sounds pretty active to me.”
BERSHAR: “We monitor the volcano constantly.”
TARRANT: “Is the volcano spraying it out?”
TARTANT: “That brings us near the volcano.”
TARRANT: “That’s towards the centre of the volcano.” - DirectorDesmond McCarthyStarsPaul DarrowJan ChappellMichael KeatingThe Liberator is drawn off course by an artificial black hole. Orac brings the ship too close in order to study the phenomenon, and, unable to break free, the Liberator is dragged through into an "impossible" starless black void... or is it? Orac's science is pitted against a legendary figure from Cally's childhood stories.CALLY: “The story goes back to the mists of Time, to the Dawn of the Gods.”
- DirectorGerald BlakeStarsPaul DarrowJan ChappellMichael KeatingTarrant convinces the others to launch a raid on a Federation transport loading a cargo of valuable crystals from the planet Kairos, and Servalan recruits a retired officer who once served with Tarrant to stop him.JARVIK: “Right now he’s heading for the harvest of Kairos.”
ZEN: “This is known as the harvest of Kairos.” - DirectorVere LorrimerStarsPaul DarrowJan ChappellMichael KeatingThe Liberator crew makes a deal with a outlaw, known as Bayban the Berserker, in order to obtain crystals needed for the Liberator's weapons system. Bayban, in return, requires Vila's help to find a treasure on the distant planet Keezar; and Vila falls in love with Kerril, one of Bayban's gang members.TARRANT: “Apparently it means The City at the Edge of the World.”
RECORDING: “Once in every thirty-five generations, they will gather near the city at the edge of the world, and one will be found who can enter the vault.” - DirectorVere LorrimerStarsPaul DarrowJan ChappellMichael KeatingThe Liberator detects a mysterious spiky metal globe floating in space. Avon deduces that it is an artificial planet, but can't raise any communication. Then Cally disappears - apparently abducted inside the "planet". As well as affecting minds, this "Ultraworld" turns out to be capable of stealing them - and using the zombified bodies of space travelers to trap others. But the crew must ultimately face the menace that rules from the center of the Ultraworld...ULTRA 1: “Welcome to Ultraworld.”
AVON: “Ultraworld is a computer.”
ULTRA 1: “You were not strictly correct in calling Ultraworld a computer. Ultraworld is much more than that.”
DAYNA: “Well then maybe Ultraworld is a living organism.”
ULTRA 3: “Without the core, Ultraworld cannot exist.”
TARRANT: “It’s here in Ultraworld.”
AVON: “Tell me, Orac, how precisely did Vila confuse and distract Ultraworld?” - DirectorVere LorrimerStarsPaul DarrowJan ChappellMichael KeatingThe Liberator follows Servalan's flagship to Sardos, where a rogue Federation officer has designs on the galaxy.GROSE: “No, it was Astrid who saw the value of this stuff, and Astrid who designed Moloch to look after it.”
SERVALAN: “Moloch?”
LECTOR: “We find a suitable pilot; the scanner gets all the details, then Moloch sifts the skills and experiences and programs them into an automatic control system.”
LECTOR: “And that’s what Moloch came up with.”
MOLOCH: “I am Moloch.” - DirectorGerald BlakeStarsPaul DarrowJan ChappellMichael KeatingTarrant's elder brother Deeta is competing in a gladiatorial ceremony, where combatants fight each other to the death to settle Interplanetary feuds. Servalan is acting as a judge, but she is manipulating events to trigger a real war.DEETA: “The Death-Watch is never easy, Max.”
- DirectorMary RidgeStarsPaul DarrowJan ChappellMichael KeatingAfter Avon receives mysterious instructions, he, for reasons he will not share with the others, is determined to follow them. They bring the Liberator to the artificial planet Terminal, passing through a cloud of fluid particles on the way. Avon goes down to the surface and finds Blake, connected to a life support system, and Servalan, who is holding him captive. While they negotiate the release of Blake in exchange for the Liberator, the fluid particles start eating away at the ship.ZEN: “It was code named Terminal.”
TARRANT: “Terminal?”
AVON: “Zen, is there life on Terminal?”
ZEN: “The signal emanates from Terminal.”
CALLY: “You mean leave you on Terminal?”
AVON: “Go where you want, but stay away from Terminal.”
SERVALAN: “Put him down on Terminal.” - DirectorMary RidgeStarsPaul DarrowMichael KeatingSteven PaceyMarooned on the artificial planet Terminal, Avon, Vila, Dayna and Tarrant finds their only hope of rescue is the space freighter Scorpio commanded by Dorian and his associate, Soolin, a gunfighter from the lawless planet Gauda Prime.AVON: “You were injured trying to rescue Cally.”
- DirectorMary RidgeStarsPaul DarrowMichael KeatingSteven PaceyThe Xenon base security systems have locked down the Scorpio, effectively stranding our heroes. The computerized lock leading to the launch silo can only be opened by Avon, who has his hands full after becoming enmeshed in a war between the male Hommiks and the female Seskas. And if that wasn't bad enough, there's a nuclear weapon counting down inside the launch silo...AVON: “All that underground heat, light, power… and you never considered where it came from?”
NINA: “A rejection is already being drafted, but there is a growing feeling among the Seska remnant that women, even with the power we have could never-“
ORAC: “The power to move objects at a distance using only the mind-“ - DirectorDavid Sullivan ProudfootStarsPaul DarrowMichael KeatingJosette SimonScorpio is damaged in a collision with an asteroid and the crew need a stardrive from Federation scientist Dr. Plaxton so they can out-run Federation pursuit ships. Unfortunately Dr. Plaxton is working for pirates called the Space Rats.ORAC: “At the time of the Federation's collapse, the doctor was developing a new space drive system that used light to exert thrust instead of plasma: the photonic drive or the Stardrive machine, as it's known.”
- DirectorMary RidgeStarsPaul DarrowJacqueline PearceMichael KeatingAvon sets out to recruit Justin, one of Dayna's former tutors and former lover who is conducting genetic engineering experiments. However, Servalan captures Dayna and brainwashes her into hating Justin and forces Justin to share with her his discoveries.DAYNA: “Thank you for saving me, but what are those animals?”
DAYNA: “I had to kill two of the animals.”
JUSTIN: “I’m training the animals to work, of course, but it’s slow.”
DAYNA: “You are making a new race of animals - or humans.”
JUSTIN: “I can’t help you either, the animals smashed my transmitter system when they broke out.”
JUSTIN: “To look after the animals, for one thing, and for another, to try to finish the work we started.”
JUSTIN: “Those animals can go into any of the devastated sectors of the war zone and the radiation won't kill them.”
JUSTIN: “I know it seems callous to work on the animals as I do, but the painful business of the physical transplants is over.”
DAYNA: “You must have started with men as well as animals to get these crossbreeds.”
DAYNA: “If these animals can save human lives without any risk to themselves.”
DAYNA: “Those animals have been out so long.”
SERVALAN: “But first, tell me about the animals.”
SERVALAN: “These animals are radiation proof.”
SERVALAN: How far has he got with his work on the animals?”
SERVALAN: “The animals are no use to me without him.”
SERVALAN: “That I use the animals in the way I see fit.”
JUSTIN: “I knew I was fond of you, but when I couldn't find you and the animals had run, I thought-“
SERVALAN: “Your work and the animals.” - DirectorDavid Sullivan ProudfootStarsPaul DarrowJacqueline PearceMichael KeatingCommissioner Sleer hires a mysterious assassin to pick off the crew of the Scorpio, one by one.DAYNA: “A hired assassin with Servalan as his utiliser - why?”
- DirectorVivienne CozensStarsPaul DarrowJacqueline PearceMichael KeatingThe Federation sends Commissioner Sleer to Mecron II in order to investigate the various irregularities discovered in the mining operation on that planet. Belkov, the head of the mining unit, has hidden a large consignment of crystals aboard his orbiting space station. But Avon and his accomplices are also after the crystals, assisted by one of Belkov's erstwhile colleagues.BELKOV: “Obviously not a natural games player.”
AVON: “I don't mind playing games, but I do object when the opposition makes up the rules and decides to be the referee as well.”
AVON: “That means it plays games.”
ORAC: “It seems that games are added at a whim, and when the adaptor gets bored with them, taken out again.”
GAMBIT: “I’m programmed for all games.”
ORAC: “Sensors indicate that all the other games are laid against the outside hull of the ship, therefore logic suggests that only machine four could give access to any inner chamber.” - DirectorVivienne CozensStarsPaul DarrowJacqueline PearceMichael KeatingMarooned on the arid desert world of Virn, Tarrant and his enemy must confront each other, and the past, whilst trying to solve the mystery of a lost Federation expedition. Meanwhile, time is running out for the struggling Scorpio and Orac.KELLER: “And man, a grain of sand, nameless and lost, blows with the dust.”
KELLER: “Just sand and mist.”
KELLER: “Electromagnetic disturbance or maybe there's just sand in the panels. Sand gets into everything.”
CHASGO: “It’s mostly sand, right?”
TARRANT: “Sand everywhere.”
TARRANT: “This building’s been covered by a sand drift higher than the window.”
TARRANT: “Sand higher than the windows.”
SERVALAN: “The sand?”
TARRANT: “The trace of life on Virn was the sand.”
TARRANT: “And when the sand comes into contact with a human body it sucks out the cellular energy, sometimes fast, sometimes slowly. I imagine that depends on how much sand is in the vicinity.”
TARRANT: “It appears the sand can nourish itself on the dead too so it makes sure the dead stay edible.”
TARRANT: “Suppose the sand can reason in some rudimentary but quite logical way.”
DAYNA: “There’s sand all around him.”
AVON: “Sand.”
TARRANT: “You cry very beautifully, Servalan, and one of your tears did this to the sand on the floor.”
DAYNA: “Well, there doesn't seem to be any more sand.”
SOOLIN: “It wasn't a plague on Virn; it was the sand feeding off human energy.”
AVON: “Presumably the sand up here has compared Vila's wits and stamina with mine and concluded that I am the dominant male.”
AVON: “Not unless we can do something about the sand on Virn.”
AVON: “It’s not perfect but now that we have cleared the sand away from here these instruments make some kind of sense.”
AVON: “While the sand remains active, the planet will not let go of us.”
TARRANT: “If you do your value to the sand is over.”
SERVALAN: “The rain will destroy the sand outside. How soon before the sand in here realises we can escape and kills us?”
SERVALAN: “Was there any sand in the ship?” - DirectorBrian LighthillStarsPaul DarrowJacqueline PearceMichael KeatingKeiller, an "old friend" of Avon, proposes an ingenious heist to make off with a huge Federation gold shipment. All it requires is the Scorpio, the Space Princess pleasure cruiser, an infiltration mission, and for nothing to go wrong.AVON: “Zerok, the gold planet?”
TARRANT: “Gold.”
KEILLER: “Zerok’s a natural source of gold.”
KEILLER: “All the gold going from Zerok to the Federation goes by Space Princess.”
KEILLER: “We carry gold with hardly any guards.”
AVON: “And you want us to help you get rich by stealing the gold from this ship.”
KEILLER: “At the mines on Zerok, they process the gold.”
KEILLER: “Zerok won't release that code until the gold is in the hands of the Federation.”
TARRANT: “So, if we could steal it, what use is black gold to us?”
KEILLER: “The processed gold is even taken to the spaceport by underground conveyor.”
KEILLER: “That way the gold stays okay. When the gold's gone through, we readjust the processor and it's like nothing had happened. The computer says it's black, nobody checks. The gold is delivered here as normal.”
AVON: “Two minutes, Keiller, while the gold goes through.”
KEILLER: “The gold was just about to go through, there was a fight, an explosion, a scramble to get out...”
AVON: “If the gold is on board, so is the security.”
SOOLIN: “Plus gold.”
KEILLER: “Black Gold.”
SOOLIN: “You thought with our help you could get all that gold for yourself.”
AVON: “We will use the teleport to steal your gold.”
ORAC: “The processed gold will have undergone a subneutronic overlap shift.”
KEILLER: “Avon’s waiting in the lift with the gold.”
VILA: “Did you get the gold?”
AVON: “We have the gold.”
AVON: “We have to put Scorpio down on Beta Five, unload the gold, and get Scorpio back into orbit.”
AVON: “Alright, everyone move back from the gold, slowly.”
AVON: “That was very good bait, the black gold.”
SERVALAN: “Load the gold and watch him.”
DAYNA: “So that black gold will be of use to Servalan.” - DirectorBrian LighthillStarsPaul DarrowJacqueline PearceMichael KeatingThe Scorpio crew are summoned by renegade Federation scientist Egrorian who wants to unleash vengeance on the Federation. He offers a powerful weapon in exchange for Orac. Avon soon suspects Egrorian is working for Servalan in another of her schemes.SOOLIN: “Go back to close orbit.”
- DirectorMary RidgeStarsPaul DarrowMichael KeatingSteven PaceyOrac has pinpointed Blake's location and reveals to Avon and the crew of Scorpio that he is on the lawless planet Gauda Prime, where Blake has given up fighting against the Federation and is now a bounty hunter. However, the crew of the Scorpio suspect Blake has betrayed them and has sold out to the Federation.VILA: It’s Blake, isn’t it? You think you’ve found Blake.”
TARRANT: “The last time you went after Blake it was a trap.”
DAYNA: “And Blake wasn’t even there.”
AVON: “Orac, what proof do we have that Blake is on Gauda Prime?”
ORAC: “Blake is on Gauda Prime.”
AVON: “And the answer to your next question is, yes, I would have left Blake where he was and said nothing if things had gone according to plan.”
VILA: “I can’t see Blake doing anything like that.”
BLAKE: “Blake. My name is Roj Blake.”
DEVA: “These stupid games you insist on playing, Blake, will get someone killed eventually.”
BLAKE: “Avon, it’s me, Blake.”
AVON: “Neither do I, Blake.”
DEVA: “Blake!”
