Family Drama
Family drama is a form of Drama film that primarily focuses on the personal relationships and dynamics between family members. Family dramas contrast with other forms of drama like Legal Drama and Political Drama in that their conflicts are often a result of personal, family events, like marriages, the death of loved ones or dysfunctional family members, rather than a more grand, general background as in the aforementioned forms of drama. The genre nevertheless crosses over with these genres, as in the case where a family drama features a strong political motive. The genre commonly incorporates elements of Melodrama, a result of the heightened emotion and tragic scenes that may arise in family dramas. Though narratives are usually centered small families and their everyday, or normal, small-scale struggles, family dramas featuring extensive Crime-related plots and big, "tribal" families have been made as well.
