Films Based on Literature: 1994
Films based on literature tend to have a much better narrative and story than the majority of other films. So here are all the movies based on literature for the year 1994. Enjoy!
-All films based on novels released in the UK and the US in 1994. If a film is inspired by a story or novel but is not accredited as such it will not be included.
For example, the title of one of the most popular films that was released in 1994, 'Pulp Fiction', refers to the pulp magazines and hardboiled crime novels popular during the mid-20th century that were known for their violence and punchy dialogue. However, it will not be included in this list as the story was written by Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary specifically for this film.
Similarly, it is for this reason that some other films that were released in 1994 that are also loosely based on classic literature, like 'Greedy' on Dickens' 'Martin Chuzzlewit and even 'The Lion King' on 'Hamlet', are not included in this list as not only are they not accredited as being based on these works (the writers only acknowledge their "influence") but there are also too many differences from the source material.
