STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION SEASON 3 RATINGS
S.3 is a huge improvement from the first two seasons that produced two of the most outstanding episodes of TV (= "Yesterday's Enterprise" and The Best of Both Worlds part1")
Everything improved. The acting was excellent, even M.Sirtis and G.Mcfadden who were very wooden before, were very good here. P.Stewart and B.Spiner's acting was phenomenal. Finally pretty much all the characters were properly developed, with the writers devoting at least one episode to explore each one, though again as expected the best stories were given to our favourite Android who desperately wants to be more human. The stories themselves became in general a lot more serious, character driven, mature and well made (all these were missing from the previous seasons too often). It's evident that they hired new writers and finally Roddenberry stepped off from most of his duties (as I said before I respect greatly this man for his work on TOS, but he should have never been involved with TNG in the first place). Finally, not often enough a season of TV concludes with such a perfect and epic finale as s.3 of TNG, seriously "The Best of Both Worlds part1" makes totally worth to sit through the worst episodes of the season ("The Price" for example)
For the disadvantages of the season I think it's enough to say that Wesley Crusher is still somehow a regular in the show
Overall rating: 8.6/10
