Supernatural Season 5
Supernatural Season 5 is easily the show's best season and one of my favorite seasons in all of TV. From the start we're thrown into a season that has genuine stakes and tension throughout.
I love Sam and Dean being the vessels for Lucifer and Michael. I think the reveal is super great and the parallels between the two sets of brothers is one of the best things the show has ever done.
The reveal of the Trickster being Gabriel is fantastic, his character is beautiful leading up to his death in "Hammer of the Gods".
And the final stretch of the season, from episode 18 onward is the best stretch of any episodes in the entire show. The finale? It's the best episode of the show. This season is the only season not to have a single episode fall below an 8/10 for me. Every single episode is a great time and such a wonderful piece of Supernatural.
They manage to tie so much together in this season, I love how the Croatoan virus comes back, I love the horsemen, Dean's conversation with Death is one of the best scenes in the show.
Supernatural Season 5 is the perfect final season of a TV show, and it really sucks it didn't end here.
9.7/10.

- DirectorRobert SingerStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverSam, Dean, and Bobby must deal with the aftermath of the Devil's escape from Hell, and receive startling news from the Prophet Chuck.A really solid opening that sets up every plotline for Season 5 as well as having a super dire tone to it.
8.7/10. - DirectorPhilip SgricciaStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsRufus, an old friend of Bobby's calls, panicked about demons attacking a town in Colorado. Sam and Dean arrive to help, but soon discover things aren't exactly as they seem.A bit of a step down from recent episodes, but still a fun time and the introduction of the horseman War is fun.
8/10. - DirectorJ. Miller TobinStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsSam decides to stop hunting but has a hard time after he receives a surprise visit. Dean and Castiel try to find the Archangel Raphael in their bid to stop the Apocalypse. The episode where Season 5 truly kicks off in my eyes. We learn so much from Raphael and Lucifer and the entire thing starts to move in a great way.
8.7/10. - DirectorSteve BoyumStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsDean refuses Sam's efforts to help him battle the Devil, and then wakes up to find himself five years in the future, in a wasteland where Lucifer has begun his endgame by unleashing a virus that transforms humans into zombies.Much like last season's time travel episode, this one is also pretty fantastic.
9.4/10. - DirectorJames L. ConwayStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesParis HiltonSam and Dean head to a small town where people are murdered by famous dead icons. However the brothers come to a dead end when two teenagers reveal they saw Paris Hilton kidnap their friend.A fun one off that's got some good moments!

9/10. - DirectorCharles BeesonStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsDean and Sam are thrown into an alternate universe by the Trickster where they are characters in different TV series.Easily one of the best episodes of the show. An insanely fun and interesting concept and a terrific reveal. Love this one to death.
10/10. - DirectorJames L. ConwayStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesRob BenedictDean and Sam are at a Supernatural convention where they meet lots of fans of the Supernatural Books. After a while they get the impression that something is not right at the location of the convention.A fun celebratory episode of the show with some really funny moments.
8.4/10. - DirectorPhilip SgricciaStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsDean and Sam get to know the whereabouts of Lucifer and want to hunt him down. But Lucifer is well prepared and is working his own plans.Lucifer is fantastic here, the drama is amazing and the episode is easily one of the most tragic of the whole show.
9/10. - DirectorJames L. ConwayStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJon GriesDean and Sam check themselves into a mental hospital so they can investigate a monster that is attacking patients.Pudding! A great one off episode with a lot of funny moments.
8/10. - DirectorRobert SingerStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesColton JamesWhile investigating a school, Sam is the target of a teenager's body-switching spell.A pretty fun, if not overly silly episode. There's some great stuff at the end, too.
8/10. - DirectorSteve BoyumStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsThe renegade angel Anna escapes from her prison in heaven. She travels back in time to kill Sam and Dean's parents so that Sam is never born, and cannot be the vessel for Lucifer. Castiel sends Sam and Dean back to stop Anna. This episode is yet again another awesome time travel episode and it has some of the best scenes in the series.
9/10. - DirectorMike RohlStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsCastiel helps Dean and Sam hunt down Cupid after people start killing each other for love on Valentine's Day.Another horseman episode is awesome and Famine is a great villain. The brief return of Sam's powers was also pretty sick.
9/10. - DirectorJohn F. ShowalterStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverSam and Dean travel to Bobby's hometown to investigate why the dead are rising from their graves. Dean has a strange encounter with Bobby's dead wife.A bit weaker than other episodes this season, but still a solid episode and the zombie vibe is awesome.
8.4/10. - DirectorJeff WoolnoughStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsDean and Sam are killed by the hunters Walt and Roy. They awake in heaven and Castiel contacts Dean and asks him to seek out the angel Joshua. Meanwhile Zachariah is chasing them in Heaven to force Dean to be Michael's vessel.Such a surreal episode that almost plays out like a psychological horror at times. Combine that with some heartbreaking moments and this is easily in my top 3 episodes of the show.
10/10. - DirectorCharles BeesonStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsSam and Dean meet a woman in a small town who claims to be a prophet.A pretty fun episode with some great storyline stuff hidden in the background. The final scene is tremendous.
- DirectorPhilip SgricciaStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsZachariah has a new plan to overcome Lucifer but the strategy has unforeseen destructive consequences.Fantastic episode. One of the best of the season for sure.
9.6/10. - DirectorRick BotaStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesRichard Speight Jr.The Winchesters are abducted by a group of renegade gods who want to use them as a bargaining tool to stop the apocalypse.I get the issues people have with this episode, and they're all totally valid, but the great stuff in this episode is absolutely fantastic. Lucifer and Gabriel's standoff is one of the best in the series.
9/10. - DirectorRobert SingerStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesJim BeaverCrowley offers to help the brothers hunt down Pestilence and reclaim his ring, while Dean gets a lesson in trust when Sam's history with the Four Horsemen's demon `Stable Boy' is revealed.A really great episode for Sam! My only nitpicks are that the episode kinds feels like filler at times. We really should've wrapped up Pestilence here so it was just Death in the next episode.
8.7/10. - DirectorPhilip SgricciaStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsBobby sells Crowley his soul in exchange for the location of Death, while Pestilence infects the Winchesters with a deadly disease. If this episode was just the Death stuff and the Croatoan stuff, it'd be a 10. With Pestilence? It's a 9. Still fucking FANTASTIC.
9.4/10. - DirectorSteve BoyumStarsJared PadaleckiJensen AcklesMisha CollinsWith the Apocalypse looming, Sam and Dean realize they are out of options and make heart-breaking decisions that will change their lives forever. This the best episode of the entire show. Amazing ending, such a fantastically written episode with some of the saddest and most epic moments in the show.
