To qualify for this list the movie has to include - to some degree - the "cosmic horror of the unknown (or unknowable)" more than gore or other elements of shock.
The "fear and awe we feel when confronted by phenomena beyond our comprehension, whose scope extends beyond the narrow field of human affairs and boasts of cosmic significance".
Movies like Alien and The Thing does not qualify as Cosmic Horror, but rather Sci-Fi Horror. Interstellar does not qualify as it deals with real science and (for the most part) known parts of how our universe works.
