An inventive, daring dive into the great beyond of the post-Endgame MCU. 'WandaVision' is a creative triumph of television which will excite you for the next phase. It's bonkers; it's emotional; it's the perfect proof that Kevin Feige and co. have more surprises up their sleeve yet.
Season 1: ★★★★★

A fresh, brave, inspired direction for the MCU, and most definitely the oddest way you've experienced the superhero subgenre. Do not expect spectacle. For some a superhero show with no superhero spectacle is disappointing - not me. Give it time to unravel and 'WandaVision' could become one of the most achieved aspects of the MCU (so far). It is, for now, a sitcom, but don't expect the illusion to last. Cracks are already beginning to form. - RegistaMatt ShakmanStellePaul BettanyElizabeth OlsenKathryn HahnIn an effort to fit in, Wanda and Vision perform a magic act in their community talent show.8.8
In two short episodes, I am already excited for the MCU all over again. The subtle cues are resounding. The call-backs and references, phenomenal. Their commitment to the classic sitcom, inspired. Bring it on. What's happening, is for you to decide - is Wanda in a forced simulation? Or has she chosen to be there to live out life with Vision, having found a way to reignite his consciousness? Either way, I'm engaged. - RegistaMatt ShakmanStelleElizabeth OlsenPaul BettanyKathryn HahnWanda's pregnancy fritzes her powers as she and Vision prepare for an accelerated delivery.8.7
Unravelling the madness of Wanda's simulated reality, control is swaying, and I'm beginning to question whether this is Wanda's past or a purely Sword initiative. . I just wish the episodes were longer. - RegistaMatt ShakmanStellePaul BettanyElizabeth OlsenKathryn HahnMonica Rambeau, tasked with a special assignment regarding sentient weapons, goes missing.9.5
If you're not hooked, you are now. A fantastic piece of television which comes full circle, starting with the horrific realities and devastating aftermath of returning from being dusted. From here, it this episode delves to geek level comprehension of the crazy complexity of its premise, basically storyboarding from perspective of a fan or avid YouTube breakdown star. And not only that - it brings back characters we haven't seen in years; it introduces true horror elements; and with all that - it may have just setup not one but two villainous turns crucial for the forward momentum of the MCU, with the most easily backstory you can imagine. It really has everything - it will shock and surprise you just when you thought it had sprung its last great surprise. - RegistaMatt ShakmanStelleElizabeth OlsenPaul BettanyKathryn HahnWanda addresses Vision's worries when he grows suspicious of the neighbors' strange behaviour.9.2
A fantastic follow up which unravels the world of Wanda faster than Lagos cleans up a spill. The break from reality was sublime. The ending was shocking and, in a single scene, world-altering. The post-Endgame MCU masterplan is coming together, and I couldn't be more ecstatic. It's a daring new direction - that's already proving a stroke of genius no one had previously thought of (I mean why are we even surprised at its brilliance at this stage?). - RegistaMatt ShakmanStellePaul BettanyElizabeth OlsenKathryn HahnDisturbances on Halloween separate Wanda from Vision, who looks into anomalous activity in Westview.9.0
'WandaVision' continues to prove its doubters wrong with another strong episode which presents more questions than answers. It's Halloween theme is inspired as the dreary disfunction that accompanies Wanda's escalating inability to control her reality ultimately engulfs a whole new level of reality. You'll be jaw-dropped. - RegistaMatt ShakmanStelleElizabeth OlsenPaul BettanyKathryn HahnMonica plots her return, Wanda navigates unsettling complications, and Vision forms a new alliance.8.9
A well crafted, though unsurprising revelation (surprising in itself given the reputation the show has been building) leads a slightly weaker episode than the last few. It's relentless nonetheless, particularly in introducing Photon; I'm intrigued to see how the plot will develop from here with the introduction of so many more questions. - RegistaMatt ShakmanStellePaul BettanyElizabeth OlsenKathryn HahnWanda embarks on a troubling journey revisiting her past for insight into her present and future.9.3
Wow. They continue to raise the bar with what seems to be Marvel's introduction to mutants by recontextualising Wanda's experience with the space stone as an activation of her mutation as opposed to causing it outright. A grounded trip through the history of Wanda - a testament to the (super) power of grief. A devastating justification of her sitcom reality. An absolutely heart wrenching backstory finally fleshed out. 'WandaVision' is hitting new heights for Marvel when I was convinced before hand that they would struggle to replicate what took the MCU to Endgame. They've reinvented it. Cannot wait for the finale (especially after that post-credits scene...) - RegistaMatt ShakmanStelleElizabeth OlsenPaul BettanyKathryn HahnThe events of WandaVision come to a head, and the destinies of all who took part are determined.9.2
A fantastic finale that won't satisfy all viewers with its Avengers-esque battles and general diversification from its initial sitcom reality (which these same viewers ironically complained about to start). From Wanda transitioning to become the Scarlett Witch (costume and all), to the Invincibles-esque battles, to that emotionally devastating climax - I'm not crying, you are.
This finale was everything that MCU television can achieve - it can further the narrative and heighten anticipation for new big screen adventures, and importantly, with the extra screentime TV shows are afforded in comparison to their cinematic counterparts - build the next villains so that we empathise with their perspectives. Feige & co. took 10 years to bring Thanos to the MCU with breadcrumb trail through more 20 movies - they've now taken the inspiring step to utilise the extra hours afforded in TV shows to explore the depth of new characters and villains. That's why we care so much now about Vision + Wanda - they've made us care by spending some truly quality time with them. With their goodbye (but not their last hello *cries*), we've witnessed one of the most emotional devastating moments in the MCU and completed our transition to care about characters we hardly batted an eyelid at before. Well done, Marvel. - 2021– 58mTV-14Episodio TV8,2 (1051)RegistaBrad BaruhStelleElizabeth OlsenPaul BettanyJac SchaefferJoin Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany and more, to go behind the scenes of the groundbreaking series 'WandaVision'.An excellent post to a mindboggling season.
