2020 Films from worst to best

by nathanchurchill-96283 • Created 4 years ago • Modified 2 years ago
You thought I wasn't going to make this list, were you?

I gotta say 2020 has been a very disappointing, horrible, pathetic excuse, nightmarish, cringeworthy to live in, bad, yucky, disturbing, atrocious and worst start of the decade ever... I mean films keep getting pushed back from "No Time To Die", to "F9", and "Mulan" until it got released, and I hate it...

This is the first year ever in my life that I had given nothing my highest grade, out of all the films I'd seen none got a perfect 10 out of 10 that sucks balls.

There'll be no Lionsgate, Theatrical Universal films, Paramount, or Marvel Studios films on this list today because 1: Theatres are threatening to ban Universal's films until further notice, 2: nothing was good from Paramount, and 3: Marvel pushed backed the first three of Phase 4 til Mid next year of the MCU.

So now let's end this poo poo year to a fresh start to 2021 as we hope from doing the worst film which is...

  • Corona Zombies (2020)

    1. Corona Zombies

    20201h 1mVideo
    2.5 (973)
Barbie returns home after a quarrel over toilet paper, only to turn on the news to discover that there is an outbreak of "coronavirus". What's more, the virus appears to turn people into zombies. An island and a strip club are attacked.
DirectorCharles BandStarsCody Renee CameronRobin SydneyPavel Bédi
(Stuff About Coronavirus Will Always Be The Worst.)

I'm very surprised that Corona Zombies got this low of a rating because it is an unwatchable too short very choppy lazy and unbelievably fake zombie film ever, they don't have any of the rights to any of them two movies, and what's worse... it's based off what we're in now, The Pandemic.

Hence... if you see this thing you'll get Coronavirus.
  • Alexandra Daddario, KJ Apa, and Sofia Carson in Songbird (2020)

    2. Songbird

    20201h 24mPG-1327Metascore
    4.8 (12K)
In 2024 a pandemic ravages the world and its cities. Centering on a handful of people as they navigate the obstacles currently hindering society: disease, martial law, quarantine, and vigilantes.
    DirectorAdam MasonStarsKJ ApaSofia CarsonCraig Robinson
"The Stupid Quarantine Thing" was made in the worst possible year and on the worst possible time period, why not wait until this coronavirus is over to make, It has a shit story as you can actually tell thanks to their final decision... Everybody hates this, and I'm sure that I do too!
  • Yifei Liu in Mulan (2020)

    3. Mulan

    20201h 55mPG-1366Metascore
    5.8 (164K)
To keep her ailing father from serving in the Imperial Army, a fearless young woman disguises herself as a man and battles northern invaders in China.
    DirectorNiki CaroStarsYifei LiuDonnie YenGong Li
Everybody is getting sick of Disney remakes, nobody wants to watch another Mulan movie.

Sure it is available only on Disney+ which I never subscribed to because I'm older now and I just watch Amazon Prime or Netflix but I really, really wanna forget this one from my head.
  • Ryan Phillippe and Casper Van Dien in The 2nd (2020)

    4. The 2nd

    20201h 33mNot Rated
    3.9 (9.5K)
An Army Delta Force officer is late picking up his son at college. His son and a Supreme Court Justice's daughter are the last there. A gang of terrorists are there to abduct her and force her dad's hand on a Second Amendment vote.
DirectorBrian SkibaStarsRyan PhillippeCasper Van DienJack Griffo
The 2nd Worst Eligible movie of the Covid-19 Year,
I meant films about what we're living in cannot be considered as actual movies in the first place...

in this film it just knocks off other popular action films in the 80's, without actors that are any good, has bad writing, production and falls without a single redeem quality through the whole hour and 33 minutes of the movie at all, If I were you just watch a better action film... like "Bloodshot".
  • Portia Doubleday, Lucy Hale, and Charlotte McKinney in Fantasy Island (2020)

    5. Fantasy Island

    20201h 49mPG-1322Metascore
    4.9 (62K)
When the owner and operator of a luxurious island invites a collection of guests to live out their most elaborate fantasies in relative seclusion, chaos quickly descends.
    DirectorJeff WadlowStarsMichael PeñaMaggie QLucy Hale
The worst Horror film of this stupid year, it really proves a lot on why Jason Blum's version of Fantasy Island is awful with terrible screenplay, hateable characters and horrible/unnecessary horror scenes that got no affective jumps cares through any of it, tho people got their fantasy on time... in case that wasn't good enough then everybody watch "The Invisable Man" or "The Hunt" and not this again, both of these films are better... I like Michael Peña as an actor but that is all.
  • Jason Isaacs, Vince Colosimo, Daniel Gillies, Ken Jeong, Lawrence Makoare, Temuera Morrison, David Roberts, Mark Coles Smith, Dan Ewing, and Dena Kaplan in Occupation: Rainfall (2020)

    6. Occupation: Rainfall

    20202h 8mR
    4.7 (16K)
Two years after aliens land on Earth, survivors from Sydney, Australia, fight in a desperate war as the number of casualties continue to grow.
    DirectorLuke SparkeStarsDan EwingTemuera MorrisonDaniel Gillies
Well, Altho the worst movie for most people has gotta be this year itself because at least with Occupation: Rainfall you only had to wait 2 hours for the film to finish... but it still does not make a good film either, It's a shame how It's an Australian film too.

    Action: Flawed
    Acting: Bland
Script: Complicated (In A Negative Way)
    Creatures: Beautiful

    That's all.
  • Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, Henrique Zaga, and Blu Hunt in The New Mutants (2020)

    7. The New Mutants

    20201h 34mPG-1343Metascore
    5.3 (97K)
Five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a secret facility against their will, fight to escape their past sins and save themselves.
    DirectorJosh BooneStarsMaisie WilliamsAnya Taylor-JoyCharlie Heaton
Not the biggest fan of The New Mutants really, just another lacklustre to the story behind the Xmen Franchise origin story, I liked half the concept and it is a lot better than "Dark Phoenix" but It did have bit of problems overall.
  • Vin Diesel in Bloodshot (2020)

    8. Bloodshot

    20201h 49mPG-1344Metascore
    5.7 (89K)
Ray Garrison, a slain soldier, is re-animated with superpowers.
    DirectorDave WilsonStarsVin DieselEiza GonzálezSam Heughan
I wanted to like Bloodshot from their awesome visuals, but at the same time I didn't enjoy it most of the time because I was falling asleep, or maybe I just tired... the story was kinda bad and I wasn't being too hypocritical through every speck of the delivery in this film but I still like Vin Diesel as an actor even within it.
  • Keanu Reeves, William Sadler, Alex Winter, Kristen Schaal, Sharon Gee, Anthony Carrigan, Samara Weaving, Kid Cudi, and Jack Haven in Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)

    9. Bill & Ted Face the Music

    20201h 31mPG-1365Metascore
    5.9 (55K)
Once told they'd save the universe during a time-traveling adventure, two would-be rockers from San Dimas, California find themselves as middle-aged dads still trying to crank out a hit song and fulfill their destiny.
    DirectorDean ParisotStarsKeanu ReevesAlex WinterKristen Schaal
Rather than me and others watching Bill & Ted Face the Music in theatres it ended playing on Plex at Dad's place due to this whole pandemic shit, I mean I get the picture, and still has the original actors that are perhaps getting older by now but I must say the trailer was actually better than the film itself.
  • Lindsay LaVanchy in Initiation (2020)

    10. Initiation

    20201h 36mR
    5.0 (4.5K)
Whiton University unravels the night a star-athlete is murdered, kicking off a spree of social media slayings that force students to uncover the truth behind the school's hidden secrets and the horrifying meaning of an exclamation point.
    DirectorJohn BerardoStarsIsabella GomezLindsay LaVanchyFroy Gutierrez
So close to completely hating this movie, but as time goes It's not to be hated, altho the acting was bland, I kinda liked parts of the movie... check out the very end of this film you will be delighted in analysis but unsurpassed of film base.
  • Stanislas Merhar, David Belle, Lannick Gautry, and Kaaris in Rogue City (2020)

    11. Rogue City

    20201h 56mTV-MA
    6.1 (10K)
Caught in the cross hairs of police corruption and Marseille's warring gangs, a loyal cop must protect his squad by taking matters into his own hands.
    DirectorOlivier MarchalStarsLannick GautryStanislas MerharKaaris
Just because it is a French film doesn't make it a great one either, It had French actors with dubbed English voices kinda gets me to think on why some Lip Sync in this is pretty awful in my opinion, If Rogue City was an actual city I'd go there but not to watch this again.
  • Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)

    12. Wonder Woman 1984

    20202h 31mPG-1360Metascore
    5.4 (302K)
Wonder Woman finds herself battling two opponents, Maxwell Lord, a shrewd entrepreneur, and Barbara Minerva, a friend-turned-foe. Meanwhile, she also ends up crossing paths with her love interest.
    DirectorPatty JenkinsStarsGal GadotChris PineKristen Wiig
Wonder Woman 1984 was fairly good, with parts I liked and what I didn't... the start of Wonder Woman before becoming a badass hero was absolutely splendid, and I enjoyed the other characters, but minimal logics throughout the story is very hard to explain, there wasn't enough information, still can't outrun the original.
  • Mel Gibson and Walton Goggins in Fatman (2020)

    13. Fatman

    20201h 40mR40Metascore
    5.9 (32K)
A rowdy, unorthodox Santa Claus is fighting to save his declining business. Meanwhile, Billy, a neglected and precocious 12 year old, hires a hit man to kill Santa after receiving a lump of coal in his stocking.
DirectorsEshom NelmsIan NelmsStarsMel GibsonWalton GogginsMarianne Jean-Baptiste
I didn't see Fatman until way after it removed from theatres, it was a little too late to put this on the list but this was my first time watching the film and when the credits were rolling I was like "Huh?", It's good if people are into these captivating thrillers but it isn't as good as other movies on this list, say it's so new to me that I would watch this again over "Wonder Woman 1984" or "Rogue City".
  • Cadaver (2020)

    14. Cadaver

    20201h 26mTV-MA
    5.2 (13K)
In the starving aftermath of a nuclear disaster, a family of three attends a charitable event at a hotel, which takes a dark turn when people start to disappear.
DirectorJarand HerdalStarsGitte WittThomas GullestadTuva Olivia Remman
Parts of the film has creativity and actors you'd wouldn't usually expect in any other Drama, not to mention that Norwegian to Spanish French and other European films get more serious darker much more Grimm that Hollywood's.
  • Mario Casas in The Paramedic (2020)

    15. The Paramedic

    20201h 34mTV-MA
    5.7 (16K)
Angel works in an ambulance service. After a tragic accident, his personal life begins to deteriorate as he becomes more and more suspicious of his partner Vane.
    DirectorCarles TorrasStarsMario CasasDéborah FrançoisGuillermo Pfening
It's Spain's "Split", but rather than being typical M. Night Shyamalan and Hollywood vibes and transformation this one's more about a real life serial killer, He was a bad man.
  • Mark Wahlberg and Winston Duke in Spenser Confidential (2020)

    16. Spenser Confidential

    20201h 51mR49Metascore
    6.2 (103K)
When two Boston police officers are murdered, ex-cop Spenser teams up with his no-nonsense roommate Hawk to take down criminals.
    DirectorPeter BergStarsMark WahlbergWinston DukeAlan Arkin
Well, Spenser Confidential came around on the March period and things were slowly starting to close nationwide, It is fun whether you wanna turn your brain off and enjoy the moment with Peter Berg once again, but as one of his action films... this was really nothing too special.
  • Blake Lively in The Rhythm Section (2020)

    17. The Rhythm Section

    20201h 49mR45Metascore
    5.4 (21K)
A woman seeks revenge against those who orchestrated a plane crash that killed her family.
    DirectorReed MoranoStarsBlake LivelyRichard BrakeElly Curtis
Not too bad at all, The Rhythm Section had rhythm and the concept was neat, tho it first was a quiet storm that kept getting stronger and had loud intentions at the end, also the lead role (Blake Lively) and her British accent's very good for an American actress.
  • Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Dominique Fishback in Project Power (2020)

    18. Project Power

    20201h 53mR51Metascore
    6.0 (101K)
When a pill that gives its users unpredictable superpowers for five minutes hits the streets of New Orleans, a teenage dealer and a local cop must team with an ex-soldier to take down the group responsible for its creation.
DirectorsHenry JoostAriel SchulmanStarsJamie FoxxJoseph Gordon-LevittDominique Fishback
Those Dubstep action films get you messing with your head, not saying that's a bad thing... I'd like Jamie Foxx's character and it had so much whoa moments by any means necessary, It's naturally a form of lesson to show good work on that Project Power!
  • The Beast (2020)

    19. The Beast

    20201h 37mTV-MA
    5.2 (5K)
An unstable veteran tries to rescue his kidnapped daughter and unleashes the beast within himself during his quest. He quickly becomes suspected himself.
DirectorLudovico Di MartinoStarsFabrizio GifuniLino MusellaMonica Piseddu
Italian films like this one in particular get more onto the bright side with their thrillers, I mean this one was a lot more good by my hands up.
  • Michael Keaton, Stanley Tucci, and Amy Ryan in Worth (2020)

    20. Worth

    20201h 58mPG-1367Metascore
    6.8 (20K)
An attorney in Washington D.C. battles against cynicism, bureaucracy and politics to help the victims of 9/11.
    DirectorSara ColangeloStarsMichael KeatonAmy RyanStanley Tucci
There are so many movies like this nowadays, so many inspired by America and true events, like Worth is something about the raising effect of 9/11 with people offering to conclude all the trauma of the year of 2001 and review all the levels of the incident, I like this film... but I don't love it, My favorite film based off Politics still goes to "Lee Daniels The Butler" tho.
  • Joe Manganiello, Zolee Griggs, and Skylan Brooks in Archenemy (2020)

    21. Archenemy

    20201h 30mNot Rated57Metascore
    5.0 (3.8K)
Max Fist claims to be a hero from another dimension who fell through time and space to earth, where he has no powers. No one believes his stories except for a local teen named Hamster.
DirectorAdam Egypt MortimerStarsJessica AllainMac BrandtSkylan Brooks
The first and only independent film I've seen released on the year we like to call HELL, Archenemy felt like a neon city comic book fantasy with cool animation and text we see from "Into The Spiderverse" or any "Fringe" episode we know of and I must say... It was a very interesting movie and for those indie movie fans you can have a blast.
  • Sarah Paulson and Kiera Allen in Run (2020)

    22. Run

    20201h 30mPG-1367Metascore
    6.7 (106K)
Chloe, a teenager who is confined to a wheelchair, is homeschooled by her mother, Diane. Chloe soon becomes suspicious of her mother and begins to suspect that she may be harboring a dark secret.
    DirectorAneesh ChagantyStarsSarah PaulsonKiera AllenSara Sohn
Run was released on HULU in the US late 2020, and to NETFLIX in the UK and Australia early 2021 due to the pandemic.

Altho I find it to be Interesting, Intensifying, but a little confusing... The film has Sarah Paulson (Featured in Glass) as a psychotic mother, and I would totally watch anything related to that stuff.
  • The Hunt (2020)

    23. The Hunt

    20201h 30mR50Metascore
    6.6 (145K)
Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don't know where they are, or how they got there. They don't know they've been chosen - for a very specific purpose - The Hunt.
    DirectorCraig ZobelStarsBetty GilpinHilary SwankIke Barinholtz
Hilary Swank's character is worth the entertainment when people watch The Hunt remains evenly the truth is the topic of the Jack Rabbit plays follows also known as the Killer of this movie, and I liked it.
  • Winston Duke in Nine Days (2020)

    24. Nine Days

    20202h 4mR72Metascore
    6.8 (13K)
A reclusive man conducts a series of interviews with human souls for a chance to be born.
    DirectorEdson OdaStarsWinston DukeZazie BeetzBill Skarsgård
An Anti-captivating but entertaining film spire by a classic Sony product, Nine Days is Edson Oda's first movie ever and It is the first time seeing Benedict Wong act in movies outside huge blockbusters, he did an outstanding performance in it... and even did the most likeable character in the MCU.
  • Eric Bana in The Dry (2020)

    25. The Dry

    20201h 57mR69Metascore
    6.8 (37K)
Aaron Falk returns to his drought-stricken hometown to attend a tragic funeral. But his return opens a decades-old wound - the unsolved death of a teenage girl.
    DirectorRobert ConnollyStarsEric BanaGenevieve O'ReillyKeir O'Donnell
The best bit of The Dry was the film itself, Eric Bana did splendid, then upcoming the fascinating script, but people do attend to die in it so if you don't like that best to see another Australian film without any but if you are a big cinema fan then be free to sit through this while you can.
