Peter has little time left to make a plea deal before the jury comes back with a verdict. Meanwhile, Alicia must decide whether her future is with Peter or with Jason, and she channels the ghost of Will Gardner to help make a decision.

After an unsuccessful lawsuit against Judge Schakowsky, Jason's return to Chicago, and a looming malpractice suit, Alicia reaches her breaking point. Meanwhile Diane takes on a private college defunding and shutting down its newspaper.

Diane defends a grieving father who made a billboard blaming a gun seller for his daughter's death. Alicia and Jason's romance hits a snag. Eli has a plan to exploit his advantage in Peter's grand jury hearing.

Alicia and Lucca work together on a complicated court case involving a designer drug dealer. Also, Eli encourages Alicia and Veronica (Stockard Channing) to participate in a mother/daughter cooking show to help Peter's campaign, with disastrous results.

Alicia and Peter go to war after he learns of her affair. The male partners challenge Diane over the future of the firm. Eli has to protect his daughter from a legal dilemma. Diane and Alicia take a case involving drones and privacy.

Alicia defends a doctor who faces criminal charges for rape fantasies, A group of associates leaves Lockhart Agos Lee high and dry, Ruth plots to get rid of Jason, and Eli's feelings for Paige end in heartbreak and a surprise confession.

Alicia clashes with the bond court judge when she agrees to support a client's plea of innocence in a shoplifting case. Diane is coerced by her client's counsel to argue against her own beliefs in a case about physician assisted suicide.

Alicia hires a new investigator, and a new friend from bond court helps her with a case. Eli uses Alicia to maneuver his way back into Peter's campaign. Cary looks for a way to get Howard out of the firm.

Alicia's night goes from bad to worse when she throws a party to celebrate Howard and Jackie's upcoming wedding. Also, Eli asks Jason to investigate Peter in preparation for his trial.

Alicia has another bout with ChumHum as she and Lucca return to her old firm. However, she also discovers that Cary is trying to split Lucca and her up, and Eli discovers that she is a possible target in a federal investigation.

Alicia and Lucca take on a for-profit university, while Jason tries to recover a missing student loan payment. Meanwhile, Eli creates more havoc for Peter's campaign, and Diane looks for a solution after Howard accuses Cary of ageism.

Peter tries to make a strong showing in the Iowa Caucus, but Alicia is still giving the cold shoulder to Eli. Lucca makes a discovery while setting up Jackie and Howard's prenup. Diane and Cary have to answer to a discrimination accusation.

Alicia and Lucca travel to Toronto to represent NSA Agent Jeff Delinger who was detained by customs officers while attempting to re-enter the United States. Also, Diane grows concerned when her husband, Kurt McVeigh, decides to retire and sell his business to Holly Westfall, a rival business owner, and Peter contemplates an uncertain future when he faces possible arrest.

Eli is desperate to find out what the grand jury hearing involving Peter is specifically about, Alicia's mother Veronica needs help after she is scammed, and Diane comes to Alicia with a business proposition.

Alicia needs help from an old friend to win a case involving the NSA. Eli tries to sabotage Peter's presidential candidate announcement. A minority applicant puts Lockhart Agos Lee in hot water. Alicia begins looking into Jason's past.

Alicia sits on a panel deciding whether to attack and kill an American-born ISIS recruiter. Eli hires Elsbeth Tascioni to help find out who's investigating Peter and why. David Lee hires Jason to investigate Diane's motives with the firm.

Diane defends a client that could hurt her reputation and cost her clients, Grace tries to drum up new business for Alicia and Lucca, and Eli puts political pressure on Courtney Paige to change a business decision that could hurt Peter.

Alicia and Lucca help Louis defend ChumHum against accusations of racial profiling in its mapping systems, and Eli tries to figure out the full nature of Alicia and Jason's relationship.
