Top 12 Danny Boyle Movies

I absolutely love this movie :)
Definitely one of the tensest movies I've ever seen.
It's also quite emotional at times. A fantastic score which supplies a range of emotions
Brilliant, iconic cinematography, very interesting characters, and just a bloody fantastic screenplay all in all.

An inspirational movie following the real-life struggles of Aron Ralston. James Franco gives an amazing performance as the canyoneer, in which he must keep the audience interested almost entirely on his own. A movie which is never boring. At times funny to lighten up the mood, but at other times, also veryupsetting.
All the struggles are worth it for that amazing finale
Although I'd find the Trainspotting films a lot more re watchable, I think still this would be superior to them

Commonly regarded as Danny Boyle's best work. And quite rightly so. All the characters in the movie are extremely memorable, as well as many lines. Boyle had worked with comedy in a dark subject matter before in Shallow Grave, and once again delivers well here. The movie is about someone who is trying to get rid of a drug addiction, and yet, is filled with many hilarious scenes. But all these scenes are at times which feel natural.
Oh yeah, and the soundtrack is just as good as people say it is. "Born Slippy" is one of my all time favourite songs

In time, I could place this as better than the first Trainspotting, for
1. Being a much funnier film, but also
2. On a dramatic level, what the characters go through is just amazing. All the characters have their own moments to shine, but even seeing how they react to one another, having not seen each other for so long, is fantastic.

Also generally on a visual level, is interesting how Boyle's style has developed over the years and just how well it fits with this film.

I love this screenplay. Such a brilliant premise, and overall storyline. Great characters, beautiful, as well as cool soundtrack, (definitely my favourite Danny Boyle soundtrack next to the Beach) and like many of Danny Boyle's movies, has all the perfect emotional beats.

Ah Shallow Grave. Boyle's first feature. And a fantastic one at that. Such a simple, but great premise. Featuring brilliant characters and lots of great moments of dark humour, which i incredibly hard to do right

Sunshine. It seems to be forgotten in Boyle's filmography sometimes, but it's a very interestingly played out sci-fi, which features some of the dangers of space.
I like the movie mostly due to its awesome look and score. It's also quite tense at times too.
I haven't seen it in a while, and should give it another watch :)

The story to Steve Jobs, I have to say, personally, I didn't find particularly interesting, but that being said, there are some nice character moments here and there, particularly involving Steve's daughter.
The acting all round is also fantastic, quite possibly the best I've seen Michael Fassbender, and the friendship between Wozniak and Jobs was particularly convincing, thanks to a great performance from Seth Rogen.
I'm not incredibly fond of the way flashbacks are used in the movie too. It can be sometimes hard to focus on the story, when it might jump back and forth.
Overall, certainly not one of his best, and I feel maybe this wasn't the right project for Boyle, but definitely not a bad movie.

Quite a fun premise, Leonardo DiCaprio does a good narration. Absolutely awesome score and soundtrack in general. Beautiful imagery, and the movie's got a couple of interesting messages to it.
Problem though is the main character. Richard's just not exactly a likeable character unfortunately. Some of the writing choices weren't very good for the movie, especially in the third act.
All in all, I would prefer this over the previous movies on this list, but by no means perfect.

I don't really have anything against Millions really. I don't. It's just, when I think of my favourites of his, this wouldn't really be up there.
It's got a nice screenplay by Frank Cottrell Boyce, with a couple of actually quite funny moments too.
The score's brilliant too.

I liked Ewan Mcgregor. He's always fun :) The movie has some funny moments.
But all in all, quite forgettable.

Didn't see it when it came out, and I only got round to seeing it until last year, but wow. This was my least favourite Danny Boyle exerience BY FAR. Interesting premise, yes, and the music can be pretty cool as well as some good shots here and there.
But DAMN is it convoluted as hell. To the point that it just gets annoying.
