The upcoming Origins.

The public domain group NTLD 3D,NTLD 3D Re-animation, NTLD Resurrection, and NTLD: Reanimated
It is the the best Horror Franchise of all time. - DirectorPaul W.S. AndersonStarsMilla JovovichMichelle RodriguezRyan McCluskeyA special military unit fights a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident.A rare example of franchise that started good lost its footing then got better than its first film. Include the Japanese animated franchise films and you have a great series.
- DirectorRidley ScottStarsSigourney WeaverTom SkerrittJohn HurtAfter investigating a mysterious transmission of unknown origin, the crew of a commercial spacecraft encounters a deadly lifeform.Another series whose second installment stands up against its first. Third was simply not filmed well. The fourth changed it into a comic book. The AVP series has to be counted so its a solid third as those were fun and then there is Prometheus. Will have to see if Prometheus 2 is any good.
- DirectorJames WanStarsCary ElwesLeigh WhannellDanny GloverTwo men awaken to find themselves on the opposite sides of a dead body, each with specific instructions to kill the other or face consequences. These two are the latest victims of the Jigsaw Killer. The story sort of makes sense across the series. Sure there are holes but overall it makes sense. Rare.
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsBruce CampbellEllen SandweissRichard DeManincorFive friends travel to a cabin in the woods, where they unknowingly release flesh-possessing demons. This series and NTLD both have second installments that are as good as the first of the series. Third took the series in a new direction and the reboot wasn't that bad. The TV series should keep it locked in fourth place.
- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsDonald PleasenceJamie Lee CurtisTony MoranFifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night 1963, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to the small town of Haddonfield, Illinois, to kill again. The first was one of the greatest horror films of all time. It has been a roller coaster ride of franchise. Sequels degraded until the fourth where it leveled off for the fifth. The sixth dropped it off a cliff. Seventh back up to little better than the fourth. Then down again with the one after that. Reboot Halloween was well done but then you have the crazy white horse of an uneven Halloween II reboot. If they decide to make another I can't imagine good things.
- DirectorLen WisemanStarsKate BeckinsaleScott SpeedmanShane BrollySelene, a vampire warrior, is entrenched in a conflict between vampires and werewolves, while falling in love with Michael, a human who is sought by werewolves for unknown reasons.Series would be ranked higher except for the flashback installment in the series. It also has not returned near to the level of the first one was.
- DirectorJames WanStarsPatrick WilsonRose ByrneTy SimpkinsA family looks to prevent evil spirits from trapping their comatose child in a realm called The Further. Its second installment quality stacks up with the first installment. Third one was as good.
- DirectorTobe HooperStarsMarilyn BurnsEdwin NealAllen DanzigerFive friends head out to rural Texas to visit the grave of a grandfather. On the way they stumble across what appears to be a deserted house, only to discover something sinister within. Something armed with a chainsaw.TCSM I, II and the first reboot stand tall over the rest that in the series. That next in quality would be Beginning and 3D. Followed way far behind by Next Generation, and Leatherface.
- DirectorAlfred HitchcockStarsAnthony PerkinsJanet LeighVera MilesA secretary on the run for embezzlement takes refuge at a secluded California motel owned by a repressed man and his overbearing mother.Great first installment, underrated second installment, lame third, and a forgettable fourth. Spawned a high quality television series that lost its way.
- DirectorWes CravenStarsNeve CampbellCourteney CoxDavid ArquetteA year after the murder of her mother, a teenage girl is terrorized by a masked killer who targets her and her friends by using scary movies as part of a deadly game.Weaker second was followed by better third than almost equal to the first fourth installment. TV series is coming so it might move up.
- DirectorWes CravenStarsHeather LangenkampJohnny DeppRobert EnglundTeenager Nancy Thompson must uncover the dark truth concealed by her parents after she and her friends become targets of the spirit of a serial killer with a bladed glove in their dreams, in which if they die, it kills them in real life.Bad second, outstanding third, lame fourth and fifth, better sixth, brilliant seventh. Eighth FvJ forgettable. Reboot terrible. No reason to rank it higher. There was a tv show in there somewhere for three seasons of lame.
- DirectorDario ArgentoStarsJessica HarperStefania CasiniFlavio BucciAn American newcomer to a prestigious German ballet academy comes to realize that the school is a front for something sinister amid a series of grisly murders.Weakest was the last. The first two bridged horror and art film into a single stylistic work of horror art.
- DirectorSean S. CunninghamStarsBetsy PalmerAdrienne KingJeannine TaylorA group of teenage camp counselors attempt to re-open an abandoned summer camp with a tragic past, but they are stalked by a mysterious, relentless killer. This series best film was its sixth and it followed in quality by the fourth; then the second one and perhaps the tenth. The reboot was lame. There was an almost unrelated TV series in there. Quality divided by quantity this series took a chunk of my cash to see in the theater sequel after sequel. Its hard not to hold a grudge.
- DirectorOren PeliStarsKatie FeatherstonMicah SloatMark FredrichsAfter moving into a suburban home, a couple becomes increasingly disturbed by a nightly demonic presence.Last one was horrible, it was good series with nice continuality for the first few films.
- DirectorRob SchmidtStarsEliza DushkuJeremy SistoEmmanuelle ChriquiChris and a group of five friends are left stranded deep in the middle of the woods after their cars collide. As they venture deeper into the woods, they face an uncertain and bloodcurdling fate.Prequel in the series stands out as the next in quality after the first. Most of the sequels seemed to be flogging a dead hillbilly.
- DirectorTom HollandStarsCatherine HicksChris SarandonAlex VincentA dying serial killer transfers his consciousness into a popular kids doll using voodoo. A struggling single mother gifts her six-year-old son the much sought-after doll for his birthday, and the doll slowly begins to show its true colors.Nothing in the series matched the orginial except when he got married.
- DirectorJohn McTiernanStarsArnold SchwarzeneggerCarl WeathersKevin Peter HallA team of commandos on a mission in a Central American jungle find themselves hunted by an extraterrestrial warrior.Second was really bad. Third people woke up parachuting.. If you count the AVPs it got better.
- DirectorsJaume BalagueróPaco PlazaStarsManuela VelascoFerran TerrazaJorge-Yamam SerranoA television reporter and cameraman follow emergency workers into a dark apartment building and are quickly locked inside with something terrifying.Good quality for the orginal and the remakes.
- DirectorStephen NorringtonStarsWesley SnipesStephen DorffKris KristoffersonA half-vampire, half-mortal man becomes a protector of the mortal race, while slaying evil vampires.Second one the best. Last not worth watching.
- DirectorClive BarkerStarsAndrew RobinsonClare HigginsAshley LaurenceA woman discovers the newly resurrected, partially formed, body of her brother-in-law and lover. She starts killing for him to revitalize his body and escape the demonic beings that are pursuing him after he escaped their underworld.Nothing was as good as the second in the series.
- DirectorWilliam FriedkinStarsEllen BurstynMax von SydowLinda BlairWhen a mysterious entity possesses a young girl, her mother seeks the help of two Catholic priests to save her life.First and the Third. One of the few movie series to have one installment filmed by two different directors differently. Interesting but not good installment for either director.
- DirectorWes CravenStarsSusan LanierRobert HoustonJohn SteadmanOn the way to California, a family has the misfortune to have their car break down in an area closed to the public, and inhabited by violent savages ready to attack. The reboot was better than the orginal first one. Sequels to both are bad really really bad
- DirectorAmando de OssorioStarsLone FlemingCésar BurnerMaría Elena ArpónMedieval knights executed for their black magic rituals come back as zombies to torment a group of vacationing college kids.Classic blind spanish dead explotation films at their best.
- DirectorDan O'BannonStarsClu GulagerJames KarenDon CalfaWhen two bumbling employees at a medical supply warehouse accidentally release a deadly gas into the air, the vapors cause the dead to rise again as zombies.Second was a bad remake of the first. Series just went on tangent after that just throwing zombie stories under the name more less. Some good parts to some overall cashing in on the name with thrown together nonsense.
