Master surf film maker Jack McCoy ventures into a new realm with his latest breakout feature, A DEEPER SHADE OF BLUE.

This is not a surf movie, it is a film about surfing’s deepest roots: in the subconscious; in ancient lore; in the craft of surfboard building; in man’s perpetual quest for a joyful relationship with the natural world.

Scheming filmmakers bait an active serial killer by offering complete anonymity and a worldwide platform for which the killer’s work can be displayed. They begin receiving tapes of women being murdered and quickly realize they’ve bitten off more than they can chew.

The tension rises among the filmmakers as the question is continually posed, “how far is too far?”

This 70 min HD broadcast musical event and DVD features a once in a lifetime performance by Doyle at the Great Wall of China, along with exclusive interviews with Doyle in the City of Beijing during his visit to China.

The commentary given by Eric Clapton describes Doyle as one of only a handful of guitar players that have the gift. Eric Clapton performs with Doyle on this broadcast and has so much respect for the young singer / guitarist, as to record four of his songs.

Roger Waters went through painstaking efforts to find the one singer/guitarist who could replace David Gilmour, and to his delight and fans of Pink Floyd, found Doyle Bramhall II.

HD Broadcast will also include an HD documentary highlighting Doyle’s experiences throughout the music industry with a handful of Doyle’s performances with Sheryl Crow, Roger Waters and Eric Clapton.

When his grandfather falls ill and needs an urgent surgery, Mateo, a young painter and an expert trainer of carrier pigeons, sells 42 pigeons to a dangerous Tijuana drug trafficker named “El Pinto,” in order to pay for the operation. However, the pigeons fail El Pinto, causing him to lose millions, and the drug dealer comes to Mateo with an ultimatum: recover the money in five days or his family will die. Narrated by Sir Richard Branson, the documentary is stylized and observational with an internal narrative built through intimate portrayals of 10 European volunteers who volunteer to help rebuild a school. Through the children in this abandoned school and their families we see a human side of the Masai and the troubles its people face. The beauty of nature, the joy, the pain, the hope of the volunteers as well as the community they are there to help. This is a documentary about hope and what a small group of people can do in little time and how that can have a lasting effect and can not only help change the lives of others of but also change their own lives forever.

Part observational film and part essay, Trinidad explores the diverse characters and personal histories of a group of people who have come together because of similar life experiences. To create intimacy visually among the audience and characters, we relied primarily on natural lighting and shot digital video to allow for a smaller crew and larger shooting ratio, frequently in cinema verité–style. This method enabled us to be as least invasive as possible while allowing stories and conversations to unfold through the activities of the characters’ daily lives, such as during meals, at work, and in activities in the community and with their families. Viewers will get a real sense of life in Trinidad and its GRS history as well as a look into the past and present of our characters’ lives and their individual passions, concerns, and struggles as told through their own voices.
