- DirectorsKevin AltieriBoyd KirklandFrank PaurStarsKevin ConroyDana DelanyHart BochnerBatman is wrongly implicated in a series of murders of mob bosses actually committed by a new vigilante assassin.Okay, this one has a huge spot in my heart, since I grew up with The Animated Series. It's truly the best big screen adaptation of a superhero I have ever seen. The story is incredible, the score is amazing, the voice cast is perfect, the animation is astonishing.. Without a doubt this is my favorite superhero film of all time (at the moment)! 10/10
- DirectorJames MangoldStarsHugh JackmanPatrick StewartDafne KeenIn a future where mutants are nearly extinct, an elderly and weary Logan leads a quiet life. But when Laura, a mutant child pursued by scientists, comes to him for help, he must get her to safety.HOLY *beep*! This film has raised the bar for future superhero films. It was an amzing character driven piece with great performances, kickass gore action, an interesting story that hasn't been done before in the xmen franchise and it's also an emotional goodbye to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. It took 2 piece of crap Wolverine movies to get to this piece of art, but it was worth it. I really liked X-23 she was really kickass. The villains where not the best but worked really well with in the story, Donald Pierce was really fun and entertaining though. I loved almost every scene with claws and blood involved. Seeing Patrick Stewart with digenerative mental diseases was heart breaking but gave a whole new angle to the character. Marvel and DC should up their game and try to make a movie as good as this because this had more balls than Dark Knight or Winter Soldier. Might easily end up being my favorite film of 2017. 10/10
- DirectorMatthew VaughnStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceIn the 1960s, superpowered humans Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr work together to find others like them, but Erik's vengeful pursuit of an ambitious mutant who ruined his life causes a schism to divide them. After seeing The Last Stand I didn't really know what would happen to the franchise. But then they announced First Class at first I was skeptical but when I saw the film it blew my mind. The developtment of each character, a very well writen plot, an outstanding youngcast. It was way better than the original trilogy. The best marvel superhero movie since Spider-Man 2. Tied with Mask of the Phantasm for best superhero film of all time 10/10
- DirectorTim BurtonStarsMichael KeatonJack NicholsonKim BasingerThe Dark Knight of Gotham City begins his war on crime with his first major enemy being Jack Napier, a criminal who becomes the clownishly homicidal Joker. Not a very popular opinion, I liked Batman better than the Dark Knight . I love Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker and I confess it's one of the best performances I've seen in a film. The main reason Tim Burton's Batman was better then Nolan's was Michael Keaton. Every time Michael Keaton showed up on the movie as Batman there was a "Batman the animated series" kind of moment. I really enjoyed that as a kid. Also as a longtime fan of Nicholson him as the Joker was a spot on cast. 9.5/10
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsTobey MaguireKirsten DunstAlfred MolinaPeter Parker is beset with troubles in his failing personal life as he battles a former brilliant scientist named Otto Octavius.I love Sam Raimi's Spiderman, this is Raimi's spidey at its prime. That scene in the hospital with Doc Ock is priceless. Best spiderman movie by far, love Peter's arc. Alfred Molina does an amazing job as Doc Ock. An James Franco's Harry Osborn finally faces his inner demons when he discover Spidey is his friend. 9.5/10
- DirectorChristopher NolanStarsChristian BaleHeath LedgerAaron EckhartWhen a menace known as the Joker wreaks havoc and chaos on the people of Gotham, Batman, James Gordon and Harvey Dent must work together to put an end to the madness. Not a big fan of Bale's Batman but Ledger literally stole the scene. Also have to say Aaron Eckhart did a really good job too. Stand's perfectly on it's own as a movie. This is the Nolan batman trilogy coming to it's own, classic Batman vs Joker story. I always felt it got kind of overrated. But I clearly understand why it get's such high regards. This and Winter Soldier stand way better on their own as action thrillers than superhero movies. 9/10
- DirectorsAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansRobert Downey Jr.Scarlett JohanssonPolitical involvement in the Avengers' affairs causes a rift between Captain America and Iron Man.I have a lot to say about this movie, first thing is it was truly amazing. Tom Holland is the perfect Spiderman. The airport fight is just as good as the have been hyping it. The conflict was perfectly handled, the Russo's are the definitely the perfect guys for the job. I loved Giantman, can't wait for Black Panther's solo movie. I'm sorry DC, I liked Batman v Superman fine but I LOVED CIVIL WAR. Marvel just kicked your ass.. This ties with Mask of the Phantasm and First Class as the best superhero movies of all time. 9,5/10
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansScarlett JohanssonEarth's mightiest heroes must come together and learn to fight as a team if they are going to stop the mischievous Loki and his alien army from enslaving humanity.Such a fun movie, seeing this heroes work together on screen is so epic and refreshing. Loki turns out to be an amazing villain 9/10
- DirectorsAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansSamuel L. JacksonScarlett JohanssonAs Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world, he teams up with a fellow Avenger and S.H.I.E.L.D agent, Black Widow, to battle a new threat from history: an assassin known as the Winter Soldier.A brilliantly made movie by the Russo Brother's the best standalone MCU movie, The dynamic between Bucky and Cap really works. Th reveal of SHIELD turning out to be HYDRA. Not just a good comicbook movie but a good spy thriller in general. 9/10
- DirectorTaika WaititiStarsChris HemsworthTom HiddlestonCate BlanchettImprisoned on the planet Sakaar, Thor must race against time to return to Asgard and stop Ragnarök, the destruction of his world, at the hands of the powerful and ruthless villain Hela. This is the best solo Marvel movie other than the Russo bros directed Captain America movies. So funny, so colorful. Chris Hemsworth proved he was really talented for comedy in the Ghostbusters reboot and this movie takes full advantage of those comedic strengths. Hela is amazing and Cate Blanchett gives a wonderfully evil performance. Jeff Goldblum is pretty much just himself which I love (he even has a piano OMG). Mark Ruffalo is actually not that much in the movie since he is Hulk most of they time and they really develop him as a separate character from Banner. They give you everything you want and more I can't imagine a better Thor movie myself. 9/10
- DirectorPatty JenkinsStarsGal GadotChris PineRobin WrightWhen a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, Diana, an Amazonian warrior in training, leaves home to fight a war, discovering her full powers and true destiny. The best film the DCEU has offered us yet. It captures perfectly the essence of DC's heroes being gods amongs us, presenting a really good fish out of water story. Gal Gadot is perfect as Diana. I loved her a lot in BVS and continued to lover her here. Steve Trevor is a new DCEU favorite of mine. I think I've never enjoyed a Chris Pine performance as much. I loved how well the amazon/themyscira stuff combined well with the wwi stuff. The action was really cool but sometimes I rolled my eyes because of the snyder DCEU tendencies of overusing slow-motion. Some of the humor I was kind of surprised was really well put in the film other joker I kind of felt fell flat. The opening with Diana's childhood was a bit slow as a downside. And Ares I feel like could of been done better, I kind of like Danny Huston more was a bit bummed with the reveal. Please Justice League be great like Wonder Woman! 9/10
- DirectorRichard DonnerStarsChristopher ReeveMargot KidderGene HackmanAn alien orphan is sent from his dying planet to Earth, where he grows up to become his adoptive home's first and greatest superhero. The one that started it all, it doen't get old. It's just a really well told story. The perfect superman movie. Christopher Reeve will forever be Superman 9/10
- DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartIan McKellenHugh JackmanThe X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.Though slightly worse than X-men: First Class I still love this movie, the movies makes some risky decisions (combining the old cast and the cast with a story of time travel, killing off beloved characters, altering the old rimeline) the movie knocks it out of the park. Evan Peters absolutely steals the scene 9/10
- DirectorTim MillerStarsRyan ReynoldsMorena BaccarinT.J. MillerA wisecracking mercenary gets experimented on and becomes immortal yet hideously scarred, and sets out to track down the man who ruined his looks.Despite being really short and having a weak villain. The jokes and gags made the movie hilarious all the way through. I really liked the minor characters like Colossus and Negasonic, Weasel was good as well. Well done Fox, your first good solo movie. 8,5/10
- DirectorJames GunnStarsChris PrattVin DieselBradley CooperA group of intergalactic criminals must pull together to stop a fanatical warrior with plans to purge the universe.Unexpectedly fun, these unknown characters turn out to be compelling and fun to see interact on the first big screen apearance. Starlord turns out to be the perfect lead and shares the incredibly catchy Awesome Mix Vol 1 8/10
- DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartHugh JackmanHalle BerryWhen anti-mutant Colonel William Stryker kidnaps Professor X and attacks his school, the X-Men must ally with their archenemy Magneto to stop him.8/10
- DirectorJon FavreauStarsRobert Downey Jr.Gwyneth PaltrowTerrence HowardAfter being held captive in an Afghan cave, billionaire engineer Tony Stark creates a unique weaponized suit of armor to fight evil. This movie still rules, no idea how Marvel pulled this off I remember being blown away in theatres. The effects are amazing, Robert Downey Jr embodies Tony Stark and he owns the character. No unnecesary subplots or forced character introductions. The movie follows a simple narrative in explaining the change in Stark's heart that turned him in to this hero we know and love. Obadiah Stane might not be the greatrest villain of all time, but he fits this movie and succeeds in being an oposing force to Iron Man. None of the sequels are near as good. This film is brilliant! 8/10
- DirectorTim BurtonStarsMichael KeatonDanny DeVitoMichelle PfeifferWhile Batman deals with a deformed man calling himself the Penguin wreaking havoc across Gotham with the help of a cruel businessman, a female employee of the latter becomes the Catwoman with her own vendetta.8/10
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsTobey MaguireKirsten DunstWillem DafoeAfter being bitten by a genetically-modified spider, a shy teenager gains spider-like abilities that he uses to fight injustice as a masked superhero and face a vengeful enemy.7,5/10
- DirectorBryan SingerStarsPatrick StewartHugh JackmanIan McKellenIn a world where mutants (evolved super-powered humans) exist and are discriminated against, two groups form for an inevitable clash: the supremacist Brotherhood, and the pacifist X-Men.7,5/10
- DirectorStephen NorringtonStarsWesley SnipesStephen DorffKris KristoffersonA half-vampire, half-mortal man becomes a protector of the mortal race, while slaying evil vampires.7,5/10
- DirectorJames McTeigueStarsHugo WeavingNatalie PortmanRupert GravesIn a future British dystopian society, a shadowy freedom fighter, known only by the alias of "V", plots to overthrow the tyrannical government - with the help of a young woman.7,5/10
- DirectorZack SnyderStarsJackie Earle HaleyPatrick WilsonCarla GuginoIn a version of 1985 where superheroes exist, the murder of a colleague sends active vigilante Rorschach on the trail of a conspiracy that will change the course of history. This movie would be better if you didn't have the original graphic novel by Alan Moore to compare it. The best things about these movie are the casting choices for Rorschach and the Comedian (spot on performances) and the opening sequence with the Bob Dylan song explaining the fate of the minute men. That said the movie is really heavy on the visuals and that plays both in favor and against it (the slowmo get's distracting at points and Snyder should drop the dumb sepia tone lowered saturation, the comic was realy coloful). Dr Manhattan I guess was a hard character to bring to life but I do not think the cgi looks the best it could or they couldn't have gotten a better actor to do the voice. Nite Owl's costume and gadgets look incredible the actor doesn't shine much. Ozymandias I didn't like in the graphic novel much, and in the movie I disliked him as well (nice batnipple reference tho). The actress who plays Silk Spectre is awful and she definitely has some of the worst delivires of all the movie. Also I don't like that for some scenes they went really accurate to the comic quote by quote/ panel by panel. And other scenes it's all original screenplay and new dialogue that doesn't blend with Alan Moore's writing. The change of the ending (you know the tentacle montser from the comcis) I was of the few people who didn't mind that much, it made more sense to do what the movie did with Dr. Manhattan. By the end I do not think this movie is the masterpiece some mistake for, but it shouldn't be taken for granted either. The work of Alan Moore is not easy to adapt into the film format and they made it pretty damn good as far as I'm concerned.7,5/10
- DirectorChris McKayStarsWill ArnettMichael CeraRosario DawsonA cooler-than-ever Bruce Wayne must deal with the usual suspects as they plan to rule Gotham City, while discovering that he has accidentally adopted a teenage orphan who wishes to become his sidekick.I saw this movie late so I was told it was more childish and kid oriented than the lego movie (which was a really smart animated comedy). I thought this movie was smart too despite it's sillyness at times (which it embraces 100%). I loved all of the voice cast (except why wasn't Fiennes voicing Voldemort as well??) specially Arnett and Cera great to see the Arrested Development duo work off of each other. I didn't like the relationships with Barbara Gordon and Alfred as much it kind of cheapened the fact we finally got a Robin on the big screen (after the mess of the Schumacher films). The Joker's story arc was cute but clearly aimed torwards the kid audience, and the relationship jokes worked for me. Didn't love that the Joker teamed up with random villains from other movies and Batman teamed up with his usual rogues gallery (minus the joker). Loved every single joke and references (think I got most of them and laughed maybe a few flew over my head). Better film than BVS? HAHAHA Sadly... But also great to have a big budget DC Animated film kids can enjoy as much as adults in theatres I love the concept and love the effort. This is definitely not just a stupid cashgrab but a Batman movie with a lot of heart and creativeness! 7,5/10
- DirectorJames GunnStarsChris PrattZoe SaldañaDave BautistaThe Guardians struggle to keep together as a team while dealing with their personal family issues, notably Star-Lord's encounter with his father, the ambitious celestial being Ego.I thought Vol. 2 was a bit disappointing compared to the first gotg, the plot was really badly put together poorly structured. Don't get me wrong the movie is good and a fun time at the theatres but it has problems. The character motivations are ultimately lazy and unclear (specially the gold people who are supposed to be secondary villains). I more or less liked the characters the same, got annoyed with baby Groot really early on though and I loved him in the first movie. Yondu and Drax had better moments in this movie than in the previous one. I did enjoy the music a lot, the main story with Starlord's part had some interesting ideas didn't love the execution. Ego was an okay addition maybe a better villain than Ronan. Mantis and Nebula i couldn't care less about. And some jokes were really lame but others were hilarious (mary poppins). Worse than the first Guardians but better than Avengers 2 so pretty good amongst the MCU. What mostly saved this movie was the feels at the end they actually got me dispite no loving the film that much.. They just went for a smaller sequel, I would have prefered it the other way around. Most disappointing thing is I probably enjoyed Lego Batman more than this (good on you DC) 7,5/10
