- DirectorJames L. BrooksStarsShirley MacLaineDebra WingerJack NicholsonFollows hard-to-please Aurora looking for love and her daughter's family problems.Great characters and relationships any person can relate to in one way or another.
- DirectorNorman RenéStarsStephen CaffreyPatrick CassidyBrian CousinsThe emergence and devastation of the AIDS epidemic is chronicled in the lives of several gay men living during the 1980s.This is a heart wrenching movie about Aids at it's beginning in America. Not for everyone, though I think it's the most honest film about HIV/Aids ever made to date.
- DirectorPeter HowittStarsGwyneth PaltrowJohn HannahJohn LynchAfter personal and professional setbacks, a woman experiences an alternate reality.Say what you want about Gwyneth, but I've watched this movie time and time again! It speaks to me about choices we make and don't make, but destiny brings us full circle.
- DirectorMichael LehmannStarsWinona RyderChristian SlaterShannen DohertyAt Westerburg High where cliques rule, jocks dominate and all the popular girls are named Heather, it's going to take a Veronica and mysterious new kid to give teen angst a body count.Lots of language and probably the most quotable lines from a movie ever...if you swear a lot! A classic not to be missed if you ever dealt with mean people in High School!
- DirectorMorton DaCostaStarsRosalind RussellForrest TuckerCoral BrowneAn orphan goes to live with his free-spirited aunt. Conflict ensues when the executor of his father's estate objects to the aunt's lifestyle.A classic movie which is fast paced and funny! Rosalind Russell is top drawer...you'll understand if you watch this movie!
- DirectorChris ColumbusStarsRobin WilliamsSally FieldPierce BrosnanAfter a bitter divorce, an actor disguises himself as a female housekeeper to spend time with his children held in custody by his former wife.Who wouldn't like this movie?! It's cute, funny and heart warming. It's one of the only two movies in which I've ever been able to tolerate Sally Field.
- DirectorHerbert RossStarsShirley MacLaineOlympia DukakisSally FieldA young beautician, newly arrived in a small Louisiana town, finds work at the local salon, where a small group of women share a close bond of friendship, and welcome her into the fold. And the second movie with Sally Field as a character I like, the movie - not her acting! A great ensemble cast and sure it's melodramatic and there is a bit, okay a lot, of over acting in the movie - but I still like the movie.
- DirectorKen OlinStarsJames SikkingBibi BeschWilliam McNamaraA young college student, his family's "golden child," brings his fiancee home to meet them. This is a HIGH drama movie with Jim Carrey in a dramatic role. He's not the main character, but he really can act...REALLY! The movie revolves around a family (who wants to look perfect to the world) and the 'favorite' son about to get married...anything else I say would ruin it for you. Just know the 'perfect' family isn't so perfect.
- DirectorWill GluckStarsEmma StoneAmanda BynesPenn BadgleyWhen Olive lies to her best friend about losing her virginity to one of the college boys, a girl overhears their conversation. Soon, her story spreads across the entire school like wildfire.I LOVE this movie...seriously LOVE this movie. Again, it's a movie about High School and how vicious it can be...do you think I have some unresolved anger issues about HS? Probably! LOL To have so many talented actors in one movie, it's not difficult to understand why I enjoy this movie so much. Emma Stone, Stanley Tucci, Patricia Clarkson, Thomas Haden Church, Lisa Kudrow, Amanda Bynes - okay, give Amanda a break...I love her, always have and always will...so deal people. It's so funny and truly makes me guffaw...yes, I said guffaw...look it up!
- DirectorDavid FrankelStarsAnne HathawayMeryl StreepAdrian GrenierA smart but sensible new graduate lands a job as an assistant to Miranda Priestly, the demanding editor-in-chief of a high fashion magazine.Funny movie...another amazing cast! The stellar Meryl Streep...is she not simply talented beyond belief?! She can play any character she's asked to play. And talk about grace and dignity - she's the Katherine Hepburn of our generation...but I digress. Anne Hathaway gives a great performance and I loved her since The Princess Diaries. And let's not forget Stanley Tucci...I must have a thing for him?! LOL He is fabulous!
- DirectorGary WinickStarsJennifer GarnerMark RuffaloJudy GreerUnpopular schoolgirl Jenna Rink makes an unusual wish on her birthday. Miraculously, her wish comes true and the 13-year-old Jenna wakes up the next day as a 30-year-old woman. This is such a cute movie...it's fun and light, oh and there is Jennifer Garner! How could you not enjoy this movie, it hits all the highs and lows of growing up.
- DirectorWoody AllenStarsCate BlanchettAlec BaldwinPeter SarsgaardA New York socialite, deeply troubled and in denial, arrives in San Francisco to impose upon her sister. She looks like a million dollars but isn't bringing money, peace or love.Cate Blanchett...OMG! I doubt I have ever seen any actor in my life deserve the Oscar more! Don't see the movie if you're not in a good place emotionally, but wow. Great tragic movie.
- DirectorJohn HughesStarsMolly RingwaldAnthony Michael HallJustin HenryA girl's "sweet" sixteenth birthday is anything but special: her family forgets about it, and she suffers from every embarrassment possible. This one should have been at the top of the list. My family would watch this movie every Christmas Eve...we all have different traditions, but we all laughed. We laughed because it's pretty much my family...full of nut jobs!

- DirectorDavid FincherStarsBen AffleckRosamund PikeNeil Patrick HarrisWith his wife's disappearance having become the focus of an intense media circus, a man sees the spotlight turned on him when it's suspected that he may not be innocent.Great movie with great twists and turns - probably the only time I thought Ben did a decent job of acting.
- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsDanny GloverWhoopi GoldbergOprah WinfreyA tale spanning forty years in the life of Celie, an African-American woman living in the South who survives incredible abuse and bigotry.Probably one of the BEST movies I have ever seen/acting 10/story 10/cinematography 10/should have swept EVERY category at the Academy Awards!
