HeeWilfred JacksonStarsDickie JonesChristian RubMel BlancA living puppet, with the help of a cricket as his conscience, must prove himself worthy to become a real boy.8/10, It's quite an achievement to see such fantastic animation from 75 years ago when some film look worse today. Disney really knows its business when it comes to its visuals and Pinocchio comes with an engaging story and fun characters. Really the only real issue I have with this movie was all the boys turned into donkeys not being rescued in any way. I suppose this harsh fate for them is part of the message of the film but still, not exactly the upbeat feeling is left with you as with later Disney works, no matter that Pinocchio is turned into a real boy at the end.

- DirectorsClyde GeronimiWilfred JacksonHamilton LuskeStarsBarbara LuddyLarry RobertsPeggy LeeThe romantic tale of a sheltered uptown Cocker Spaniel dog and a streetwise downtown Mutt.8/10, Rewatched after some years and while not quite ranking as one of my favs as I recall it did, Lady and the Tramp is still one of the better Disney films in its catalogue.
- DirectorsGary TrousdaleKirk WiseStarsDemi MooreJason AlexanderMary Kay BergmanA deformed bell-ringer must assert his independence from a vicious government minister in order to help his friend, a gypsy dancer.8/10, Quoting a review on RT: "The result is a grand cartoon cathedral, teeming with gargoyles and treachery, hopeless love and tortured lust."
I like it, sums up my thoughts well so I'll use it here. :) - DirectorsClyde GeronimiHamilton LuskeWolfgang ReithermanStarsRod TaylorBetty Lou GersonJ. - DirectorsRon ClementsJohn MuskerDon HallStarsAuli'i CravalhoDwayne JohnsonRachel HouseIn ancient Polynesia, when a terrible curse incurred by the demigod Maui reaches Moana's island, she answers the Ocean's call to seek out Maui to set things right.7/10, Has decent music, wants to sell the soundtrack more than the movie seems to me, be another Frozen. Wish they had put as much effort into the story and characters as they did with the songs and I admit the animation which was fantastic. Looking and sounding pretty only got Moana so far with me though as it was all color and no substance.
Generic Disney princess and comic relief large male dummy. Checks off all the required plot points in a movie like this which would be fine if the characters were more interesting... unfortunately they are not. Don't want to trash the movie too much however, there was enough humor to keep me entertained and I think it is safe to say that kids will love this. Doesn't meet the standards of 90s Disney though imo. - DirectorsMike GabrielEric GoldbergStarsMel GibsonLinda HuntChristian BaleAn English soldier and the daughter of an Algonquin chief share a romance when English colonists invade seventeenth century Virginia.7/10, After watching this I think there needs to be a spinoff involving just the dog and raccoon as they gave me the most amusement in Pocahontas. Beyond that though I was engaged with the story more than I have in most of the Disney fare that came before the "Renaissance" began. Sure it might not be up to the standards of the juggernauts of Aladdin or Lion King but this was a fine watch that other than the standard cheesy romantic dialogue and relationship with the fast forward button mashed I really have no problems with.
- DirectorsRon ClementsJohn MuskerStarsAnika Noni RoseKeith DavidOprah WinfreyA waitress desperate to fulfill her dreams as a restaurant owner is set on a journey to turn a frog prince back into a human, but she has to face the same problem after she kisses him.7/10, Pure sugar of a disney film, nothing really of substance but manages to be fun enough, standard love story really, start out hating each other then falling in love in two days or so. Different location and music but same basic story, works though.
- DirectorsJohn LounsberyWolfgang ReithermanArt StevensStarsBob NewhartEva GaborGeraldine PageTwo mice of the Rescue Aid Society search for a little girl kidnapped by unscrupulous treasure hunters.7/10, Mid tier Disney, not that bad, the slapstick was amusing enough if much else was mediocre. Medusa seemed to be a Cruella DeVil clone for instance but whatevs.
- DirectorsSamuel ArmstrongNorman FergusonWilfred JacksonStarsSterling HollowayEdward BrophyJames BaskettRidiculed because of his enormous ears, a young circus elephant is assisted by a mouse to achieve his full potential.7/10, Like Bambi it doesn't really have strong characters or plot and meanders for a chunk of its short run time. Unlike Bambi though the music is better and what plot it does have flows better so when the story peaks it feels natural. Dumbo also has a rather trippy scene that would no doubt get gasps of "think of the children!" in these modern times, rather amusing. Even the mildly racist crows were fun.
- DirectorsRon ClementsJohn MuskerStarsTate DonovanSusan EganJames WoodsThe son of Zeus and Hera is stripped of his immortality as an infant and must become a true hero in order to reclaim it.7/10, Sure its more interested in making modern references then in telling the tale of Hercules but it was still a rather fun watch. Especially liked James Woods as Hades. Fun villain to see after so many "serious" baddies.
- DirectorMark DindalStarsDavid SpadeJohn GoodmanEartha KittEmperor Kuzco is turned into a llama by his ex-administrator Yzma, and must now regain his throne and his human form with the help of Pacha, a gentle llama herder.7/10
- DirectorsRon ClementsBurny MattinsonDave MichenerStarsVincent PriceBarrie InghamVal BettinBasil, the rodent Sherlock Holmes, investigates the kidnapping of a toy maker and uncovers its link to his archenemy, Professor Ratigan.7/10, I found this Sherlock Holmes mouse version to be entertaining enough, not spectacular but watching Basil solve his case was a little fascinating for an above average Disney animation.
- DirectorsRon ClementsJohn MuskerStarsJoseph Gordon-LevittEmma ThompsonMartin ShortJim Hawkins is a teenager who finds the map of a great treasure hidden by a space pirate. Together with some friends, he sets off in a large spaceship, shaped like a caravel, on his quest.7/10, Doesn't have the tightest story or the best characters but was a fun enough time to be watchable.
- DirectorsByron HowardChris WilliamsStarsJohn TravoltaMiley CyrusSusie EssmanThe canine star of a fictional sci-fi/action show that believes his powers are real embarks on a cross country trek to save his co-star from a threat he believes is just as real.7/10, Perfect example for me of a perfectly acceptable film to have on in the background for mild entertainment while doing something else. Nothing really sticks out for me but then again there is nothing that I really disliked either.
