A villager with no memories travels around the fantastical island of Mata Nui, helping its people fend against the Makuta's darkness and chronicling the achievements of the mighty Toa heroes.

When Makuta, the master of shadows, sends his evil Rahi animals to steal the sacred artifacts of Matoran villagers on the island of Mata Nui, an outcast must travel to each of the six villages and recover the stolen items.

New threats appear on the island of Mata Nui: the roving Bohrok swarms and the elite Bohrok-Kal squadron. These new menaces serve the Bahrag queens who seek to cleanse the island of all things, Matoran, Turaga, and Toa included.

Hahli, a shy Ga-Matoran flax maker travels around the island of Mata Nui to prepare for her big game at the Kolhii Championship.

The game very loosely follows the LEGO Bionicle storylines of 2001, 2002 and 2003. The Toa must defend the island of Mata Nui against the evil Makuta's minions. At the end, a simple villager joins their ranks to battle Makuta himself.

Six ordinary Matoran are chosen to become Toa, guardians of the legendary city of Metru Nui. But as they accustom to their new role, conflicts quickly arise between them, and a sinister plot is set in motion right under their noses.

The Toa Metru return to Metru Nui to rescue the remaining sleeping Matoran, only to find it overrun by the spider-like Visorak horde and its ruthless, sadistic rulers, Sidorak and Roodaka.

Six heroes called Toa Metru return to their abandoned city to rescue its enslaved population. To do this, they must traverse the Maze of Shadows, a dangerous, twisted tunnel system. During their clashes with one of its many beasts, Nokama is fatally poisoned, and only a mysterious plant creature, Karzahni, can heal her. The Toa thus have to embark on an even more dangerous task given to them by Karzahni, or else Nokama and their people will be lost.

Roodaka discusses her past with a Visorak spider and wonders which one of the Toa Hordika will eventually succumb to their bestial side. Meanwhile, Whenua, Nuju, Bomonga and Kualus get into trouble in the ruins of the Archives.

You are an anonymous hero washes up on the island of Voya Nui, you approach a matoran named Balta, he is fearful at first, but later realizes you here there to help, he tells you that the six Piraka have found the Mask of Life and have used it to take control of the normally docile creatures of the island and turned them into evil slaves. Balta then hands you six masks of power that transform you into the Toa Inika and sets you out on your quest to defeat the Piraka and return the island to peace.

The six Toa Mahri descend to the ocean depths to recover the lost Mask of Life.

A retrospective of LEGO's BIONICLE product-line that summarizes the story from its 2001 beginnings up to the start of the 2008 saga.

Above the swamps of Karda Nui, three of the Toa Nuva, Tahu, Gali and Onua search for the mysterious Keystones that can open the Codrex. Three mutated members of the Brotherhood of Makuta are after them, but together they manage to fight them back long enough to gather the stones and open the Codrex's gate. Inside, the Toa discover flying vehicles of enormous power. Suddenly, Makuta Antroz hops into one and steals it, leading two other Toa, Lewa and Pohatu, to man their own aircraft in pursuit. While the aerial battle wages outside, Toa Ignika, the Toa of Life, flies into the Codrex's main chamber and sacrifices himself, turning his body into energy to re-power the Great Spirit Mata Nui. On the surface of Aqua Magna, the Endless Ocean planet, a lone island rests completely barren: the island Mata Nui, former home of the Toa Nuva. An earthquake destroys the last remaining structures of the island, like the Great Temple Kini Nui, and the entire island breaks apart. Underneath the landmass, a giant metal face appears. A planet-sized robot begins to rise, continental plates falling off its bodyparts as it slowly stands up. The Great Spirit, Mata Nui has finally awakened. But the benevolent green eyes suddenly turn an evil red, as the spirit of Makuta takes over the Great Spirit robot. Forcing Mata Nui's spirit into the Mask of Life, Makuta blasts the mask into space. The Toa Nuva have achieved their ultimate goal by awakening the Great Spirit, but at the last moment, evil has triumphed.

The spirit of Mata Nui leaves to a faraway wasteland, when he and his people are conquered. There he helps unite 2 villages. They ask him to help defend the villages against the real enemy, the Skrall and Bone Hunters.

Metus' Revenge is the extended ending of Bionicle: TLR. Metus, having been turned into a snake and banished to the wastelands, tries to get his revenge on the Glatorian. However their pet beetle Click undermines his evil plans.
