Grade: A- - DirectorMartin ScorseseStarsRobert De NiroJerry LewisDiahnne AbbottRupert is an aspiring stand-up comedian, who is willing to go the extra mile in his attempt to appear in the late night show hosted by his idol. One of Scorsese's most underrated films. Misunderstood when it came out this movie is way ahead of it's time and looks at our obsession with celebrity culture, while also shining a light on mental health issues. Joker was clearly inspired by this. Similar to Taxi driver in it's themes of an anti-hero. De Niro is amazing here. This movie is so hard to watch in a good way. The really sad thing Is Robert had a chance to send an audio tape in, a small chance but a chance. And he even got positive feedback from the assistant that his timing was great and that he should work at some clubs. You see that as a viewer and think good he can build on that. He can be successful if he listens to them. But, no he shoots himself in the foot and just keeps obsessing over Jerry. At the same time you see those scenes where he got some admiration and think well he's an unreliable narrator did it even happen that way. Great character study and uncomfortable to watch. There's also a great moment where Randle has to read one of Rupert joke's and he is shocked that it plays well with the audience.

- DirectorJohn McNaughtonStarsRobert De NiroUma ThurmanBill MurrayWhen shy, soft-spoken Chicago detective Wayne "Mad Dog" Dobie inadvertently saves the life of local gangster Frank Milo, he's the reluctant recipient of an unusual one week "thank you" gift - a beautiful bartender named Glory. An extremely underrated movie. A great role reversal and mashing of genres. De Niro is great as the meager Wayne and Bill Murry shines as the gangster. Uma Thurman is also very sweet here. However, David Caruso steals the show he is excellent. The script is great and Mike Starr is also great. Anyone, should watch a hidden gem.
