Films that deserved to be recognized at the Academy Awards
This is a list with films that (in my opinion) deserved to be recognized at the Academy Awards, be it with a nomination or a win in a specific category. Films marked with a * are films that weren't nominated in a specific category, but that in my opinion should have been nominated or won in their respective years.
This is my personal opinion, so if you wish to post a film that you think deserved to be nominated for an Oscar you are free to do it.
Note that the majority of the list consists on films I have already watched. I haven't seen some of the films that won an Academy Award over some that I put on the list, but considering that these films are held in high regard (like "2001: A Space Odyssey") and their status as classics I considered them to be more deserving that those I haven't seen yet like "Oliver!", which took the awards that year.
