Director: Helke Misselwitz | Stars: Erika Banhardt, Hermann Busse, Margarete Busse, Heide Drechsler
Votes: 165 | Gross: $0.01M
The idea of this documentary (interviewing a wide range of different women in GDR) is quite nice and it does show generational transformation of society in Eastern Germany, but most of interviews are excessively long, boring, uninteresting and unimportant, leading nowhere. The second half of the film is much better, but not enough to save the movie. It gets better when it comes to youngest women (interviews are not good either, but are at least useful to show how old habits were being abandoned, with teenagers not wanting to marry or the increase of divorces). Though, the best moment, by far, is the one showing the celebration of the oldest generation (a very funny testimonial by the matriarch - no spoilers here! - and a hsitorically important testimonial by the patriarch on economical crisis and bad conditions in the late 20's).
