10 Best Horror Films of 1969

by nauru-1 • Created 11 years ago • Modified 9 years ago
For whatever reason, sandwiched between the tail end of one of horror's best decade and on the cusp of another, this is a rather limp year. There are a few rewarding films here, but this year doesn't hold up to what surrounds it. Disappointing, but with such an incredible run of horror in this period, something had to be leaner. It's amazing how things can go from one extreme like 1968 was to another like this one.

Notable Films sometimes labelled as horror:
The Honeymoon Killers, One on Top of the Other, The Valley of Gwangi, Naked Violence, The Illustrated Man

Notable Films that didn't make the cut:
The Strangers Gundown, Eye of the Cat, Fear No Evil, Daughter of the Mind, The Lottery, Dead of Night: A Darkness at Blaisedon, Daddy's Gone A-Hunting, Bambi Meets Godzilla, Two Undercover Angels, Psychout for Murder, Inferno of Torture, The Mad Room, Marquis de Sade: Justine, The Witchmaker, Night of the Bloody Apes, The Haunted House of Horror
