Best To Worst (Harry Potter)

Although the most popular choice for "My favorite harry potter movie" is the Prisoner Of Azkaban, i absolutely loved the finale of the popular movie series. I could do without the first entry in the Deathly Hallows two parter, but the second part was emotional, epic and just all around wonderful. Finally we got to see these villains who had been built up for 7 movies, clash with our beloved heroes, in an amazing battle. The Deathly Hallows - Part 2 combined all the right things for a climactic finale, and it made even me cry.

But we cant forget how god of an entry The Prisoner Of Azkaban was. For the first time we got to see a really dark Harry Potter movie and it did not disappoint. There was no "He who should not be named" as the main villain, but rather three questionable characters. The Prisoner Of Azkaban had a great script, an intriguing mystery, wonderful magic and a time travel twist that was great in itself, but dug a pretty big plot hole for the rest of the movies.

I actually remember leaving the cinema kind of disappointed after this one, but thats not because its bad in any way. Its because i had to go to the toilet and missed the battle between Voldemort and Dumbledore. Harry Potter and The Phoenix order stepped up the game from the last movies. It wasn't only about the school anymore, it was now about the faith of the world. Although i felt they rushed the actual "Order Of The Phoenix", the last thirty minutes of the movie is so great and dramatic, i have to place it third on the list.

The one that started the movie craze, after the books had been a worldwide phenomenon for a few years. What made this first entry in the series work so well? It had the adventure and the excitement of the books, and a casting that i am still amazed by today. Seriously who ever cast all these actors deserve a medallion. I still remember watching this movie in the cinema as a nine year old. It was amazing. I was blown away, and though i don't exactly act that way when i watch the movie in my current age, i still get happy and smile a lot whenever i pop the dvd into the tray.

I liked the half blood prince a lot. It may not have been as action packed as the others, but i think its good on its own. The problem that this movie has, which i in no way attempt to forget while writing this list, is that the movie is just build up to the death of a beloved character. I can completely understand that criticism, but for my personal taste, the mystery and the sort of journey into Voldemorts mind was absolutely wonderful.

Now if you are still reading my list, and haven't left IMDB, to write a new tweet, you might notice that i haven't bashed any of these movies yet. Well if you are awaiting some angry comments about any of them, you will be disappointed. I consider all of these movies good to great. I have to say however, that the chamber of secrets, is perhaps the one i am the least entertained by. I dont know what it is, but the finale with the giant snake (Or whatever it is), the mystery itself, is not particularly interesting. However...the parts that are not about the chamber of secrets is in itself wonderful. The new defense against the arts teacher, is particularly amusing. It works well enough as a sequel, but has never been the Harry Potter movie i refer to when talking about the greatness of the series.

This move is depressing. Yes it is. Its a silent adventure, showing what the dark magic does to a beautiful world. I have friends who actually snored in the cinema, i didn't. But i can understand why they would. Splitting a book into two parts for a movie, might be a good idea when it comes to the box office, but in the long run it might not have been such a good idea. Because of this decision, we got one movie consisting of only character and plot development, and another one consisting of the action scenes. The Deathly Hallows Part 1 was no bad movie, and the thriller like infiltration of the ministry of magic, was excellent pulled of. But its not exactly the biggest harry potter adventure in the series.

And my least favorite movie in this magical journey is "The Goblet Of Fire". Why? Maybe you love this movie? Well think about this for a second. This movie is three challenges in a tournament. Thats it. Oh an d of course a prom. Yes that is the entire movie. Yes i am aware of the return of a certain dark lord at the end, but i still feel like this entire movie is just a Sidestep in the epic universe. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks so. Well I'm going to slowly walk away now. Have some great last weeks of the summer folks.
