Thought-provoking; it doesn't so much feel like a TV show as a lesson in the intricacies of teenage life. It'll take you back to your formative years.

- RéalisateurBen TaylorVedettesAsa ButterfieldGillian AndersonNcuti GatwaThe talking cure may be failing Otis and Jean as they sort out their issues. A wary Maeve makes the finals. Sexy Shakespeare never goes out of style.8.6
A bit of a gut punch of a finale. Which is a bit of a gutter as its sophomore season as a whole is fantastic. The back and forth, will-they won't-they has been a brilliant, realistic depiction of teenage life - but this latest road block seems more forced. Here's hoping its handled quickly enough in season three. - RéalisateurBen TaylorVedettesAsa ButterfieldGillian AndersonNcuti GatwaMoordale's friskiest come together again - in more ways than one. Otis sports a 'stache but hides a secret. Jean comes clean. A head teacher arrives.8.8
This series really delves into the hardships teenagers face - it handles it with such finesse without ever brushing over anything. A fantastic season-setting opener. - RéalisateurBen TaylorVedettesAsa ButterfieldGillian AndersonNcuti GatwaMakeovers take over when Ruby gives Otis a magnetic revamp and Hope tones the school down. Way down. Elsewhere, Eric and Adam look to level up.8.7
Quickly revealing Otis' finale heartbreak makes for captivating TV going forward with the season. - RéalisateurBen TaylorVedettesAsa ButterfieldGillian AndersonNcuti GatwaSelf-expression is out as uniforms sweep the student body. Aimee opens up about the assault while Jackson bonds with cool nonbinary student Cal.9.0
My heart broke for her at the end, seeing her loving excitement. Never imagined I'd like them as a couple but Otis brings out something deeper in her character. - RéalisateurRunyararo MapfumoVedettesAsa ButterfieldGillian AndersonNcuti GatwaIn the cold light of day, can sex turn into intimacy, and vice versa? Ruby recoils from Otis. Maeve connects with Isaac. Abstinence roils Moordale.8.8
It's never going to be straight for them is it. Another great episode exploring difficult themes. Maybe a little heavy handed with the schools new sexual stances and ignorance of gender - but they get the point across admirably by doing just that and going over the top. Beautiful scenes with Maeve, showing disability isn't necessarily a restriction on love. - RéalisateurBen TaylorVedettesAsa ButterfieldGillian AndersonNcuti GatwaVivid history collides with real awkwardness in France as the poo hits a windshield and friends slam on the brakes. A spark reignites. Jean explodes.9.3
A season-best episode that takes our characters out of familiar surroundings to explore weird dynamics between characters who don't often share the screen together. The whole setup of Maeve & Otis becoming stranded was the perfect catalyst to reignite their love. Finally we're getting what we all want - just at the point the writers have masterfully made us care for another. Brilliant. - RéalisateurRunyararo MapfumoVedettesAsa ButterfieldGillian AndersonNcuti GatwaThe truth is out there: Maeve gets the news, Aimee reveals her vulva cupcakes and more, and Eric navigates Nigerian life. Hope goes to new extremes.8.7
A public execution. Maybe a little far-fetched but builds a resentment toward Hope. Which is a shame because the beautiful part of this show is that everyone is human - and all are redeemable. - RéalisateurRunyararo MapfumoVedettesAsa ButterfieldGillian AndersonNcuti GatwaHome is where the heat is. Jean contends with a hot mess and a cold shoulder. Maeve deals with a mum on the run. The "sex school" finally goes public.8.9
An episode full of great character work as season arcs come to fruition. Though I thought the open day 'show' was a ridiculously overzealous and not too well thought out by the students, it was great to see Ruby take an important role. She has been a revelation this season. And holy shit, that ending. I think episode 5's route there was more natural and beautifully well written for them as a couple, this by contrast seemed a little forced in, but it still made for a pipe bomb ending. Which would feel unfulfilling after everything they've been through but I've a feeling this isn't the climax of their love story - there's more twists in the tale yet. - RéalisateurRunyararo MapfumoVedettesAsa ButterfieldGillian AndersonNcuti GatwaAs a new day dawns, Moordale's fate hangs in the balance. Aimee spills. Eric confesses. Otis haunts the hospital. Honesty matters now, more than ever.8.6
A confused finale, dishearteningly filled with break-ups and broken promises. The best scene was Otis' chat with Hope - which although oddly placed having failed in the previous episodes to follow through on its 'everyone's human' message, made for a beautiful interpretation of her struggle and evidence of Otis' career future. The aftertaste is very similar to the season 2 finale - a sucker punch tearing them apart again, especially due to its messy route there and lacking justification from Aimee when she has been rambling all season about how Maeve should try again with Otis...I truly hope they bring them together beautifully and definitively in season four.
In retrospect, perhaps the point of their continued back and forth relationship, and importantly their disregard of other potential partners shows you exactly what love does to a young mind. You become blinded by it and can miss other opportunities because you don't yet know who you are. The finale just didn't hit this point home blatantly enough.
