Gordon wants to take the Duke and Dutchess around Sodor, but their private engine Spencer does, and is determined to show off how good he is. He ignores Gordon's advice to stop for water and Gordon has to help him.

Salty warns the others that a storm is on the way, but Thomas and Percy start teasing Salty by mimicking him. Salty's feelings are hurt and is glad when he has to leave the docks to collect Fergus. But during his journey, the storm arrives and danger follows...

Bulgy is a double-decker bus who was turned into a hen-house after an accident with a bridge. Now, he's been restored to help with the holiday rush, but the hens miss their home.

A new engine named Murdoch arrives on the island to help with the heavy loads. Murdoch gets annoyed when he has to share a shed with Harvey and Salty, who wish to chat with him.

A 'Best Dressed Engine' competition is held on Sodor and the engines get in on the fun, except for Gordon who thinks the competition is for little engines.

When Oliver slides into the children's snowman, he is worried that they will not be happy. However, the children think it's fantastic and Oliver even ends up quite liking the snow.

Arthur and Thomas are disappointed when Thomas is chosen to run the new harbor-line since Thomas hates fish but Arthur loves the harbor. A track set wrong that causes Thomas to separate from the freight-trucks and sink may help them both.

Diesel tells Fergus that the Fat Controller wants him to work at the Smelter's Yard instead of the Cement Works. Believing Devious Diesel's story, Fergus goes to the scary Smelter's Yard and ends up running away.

Sir Topham Hatt is cross with Skarloey for being late and worries that he will not be on time for the grand opening of a new station. But Skarloey's lateness gets Sir Topham Hatt and his wife out of a sticky situation.

Thomas has to take some children to their annual sports day. Afterwards, he agrees to race Bertie, but gets sent to collect some medals for Sir Topham Hatt before he can complete it.

Fergus, the new Traction Engine, is sent to work with Bill and Ben at the quarry. The troublesome twins take a dislike to Fergus and accidentally put him in great danger.

Percy discovers some wobbly rails, but no-one will listen to him. When Thomas is sent along the track, he runs into trouble and Percy comes to his rescue. Sir Topham Hatt promises to listen to Percy more in the future.

Summertime has arrived and the Refreshment Lady plans to open up a new tea-room. But she is having trouble finding a place to put it. Peter Sam has a clever idea that will help her out.

When a windmill is damaged by lightning in a storm, Toby finds a way to save the miller's business.

Harold secretly feels disappointed that he can't do anything for the vicar's fête, until the horse who was going to give rides with his cart gets caught in a ditch.

Rheneas is worried that he won't be able to make a trip to the mountains very fun for a class of schoolchildren.

Duncan is being impatient and tells the other engines to do their jobs faster. He completes his jobs before the others and is told to pickup an elephant statue. His carelessness sends him and the elephant out of control.

Donald and Douglas jump at the chance to visit Lord Callum's castle to set up for a reopening-party since they're homesick, but become nervous that a monster is in the loch they become stranded near after a landslide hits the break-van.

Emily is new to the island and takes Thomas' carriages, Annie and Clarabel, by accident. She later redeems herself by saving Oliver.

Edward is eager to pick up the brass band for a festival as he has always done, but an accident at the docks causes the important job to go to Bertie the Bus instead.

Elizabeth teases Thomas for being unreliable and silly. When Elizabeth takes Christmas puddings to the docks, she slips on the icy road and requires the assistance of an 'unreliable' engine.

Rusty warns that the old bridge is unsafe since it's cracked, but Duncan ignores him, and leaves in a hurry. He chooses to cross the bridge to get more coal for himself, and it begins to give way with him stranded on it.

Henry feels ill, but Thomas and Percy don't believe him and leave a long line of trucks for him to haul. The trucks become too much for poor Henry and he soon breaks down completely and Emily has to come to his rescue.
