LUKE CAGE SEASON 1 RATINGS
S.1 of "Luke Cage" managed to be even more disappointing and messed up than Jessica Jones' s.1!!!!!!!!
Luke is basically a more tragic and "real", black version of Christopher Reeve's Superman, and so he was very likable and sympathetic. Of all the other characters only Cottonmouth and Mariah were interesting and captivating, the rest of them were either unnoticeable or terrible (like Shades). Pretty much the same goes for the acting, Mike Colter, Alfre Woodard, Rosario Dawson and Mahershala Ali gave nuanced and excellent performances. The rest of the cast unfortunately raised from good to terrible, especially Theo Rossi. While Simonne Missick's acting and Misty as a character were good in the beginning, they got unforgivably worse and worse with each episode. Another problem that I have is with Diamondback he is one of the lamest and most terrible main villains in TV History and Harvey was too over the top in the role. The show constantly tries to be dramatic and dark and when succeeds in it, it is wonderful (like in "Manifest"), but when not, it becomes boring and ridiculous. The fights are insanely poor and some of the worst in the superhero genre. The pace was unnecessary slow, but the music and the atmosphere were great. Finally, the season finale was very underwhelming and the season in general lacked enough excitement and satisfaction....
Overall rating: 7.5/10
