Best Hollywood Movies of 2016

'Captain America: Civil War' isn't just one of the best superhero films, it is an outstanding film outside of the genre. It is emotional, hilarious and most importantly awesome. I cannot recommend the film enough.

‘Hidden Figures’ is an absolutely fantastic film with powerful performances, excellent writing, meticulous direction, and fantastic score that make this feature well worth viewing on many levels.

'10 Cloverfield Lane' is well made thriller with stellar performances. It thrives on its tension and great writing by keeping you guessing throughout the whole run time. Must Watch!!

'The Revenant' is both brilliant & disturbing, even with its somber tone and length, there isn't a single dull moment. If anything, the entire film is an exhaustive experience but positively riveting, terrifying, and haunting topped by some exceptional performances.

'Midnight Special' is a slow-burning ideas-driven sci-fi that is refreshing & entertaining making it easily one of the best films of 2016 that deserves all of your attention.

'Deadpool' is a blast of a movie that packs action, comedy and superhero cliche's into one and even pokes fun of not only itself but breaks the 4th wall in wonderful ways. A revolution in super hero films has begun!

'Zootopia' aka 'Zootropolis' is an awesome film with great, lovable characters, a beautiful set-up, some great laughs and most importantly: a strong positive message for both kids as well as adults. Watch it!

'The Jungle Book' is a delightful watch due to Favreau's direction, the topnotch visual effects and the excellent vocal and live-action performances.

'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' is a solid superhero film with a handful of flaws that people will notice but forgive, or be unforgivable depending on who that person is. It's not the greatest superhero film, but then again, it's not the worst. I'm looking
forward to seeing other films in the DC slate. I would suggest to avoid the critic's reviews and go watch this to make an opinion yourself.

'The Finest Hours' is a good old fashioned compelling disaster drama which never fails to entertain you!

'Green Room' is an intense, frightening, thrilling and suspenseful survival drama film laced with laughs and an interesting sub cultural battle

'Eddie the Eagle' is a predictable yet very a entertaining film due to its committed cast and the respectful treatment of its subject. Give it a shot!

'London Has Fallen' is an enjoyable brainless action flick which also works as Gerard Butler's redemption.

If you walk in, NOT expecting a revolutionary movie that focuses around the machinations of the sect and its leader Paul Schäfer, you will enjoy this film. If you expect to see more about this the cult, you will be severely disappointed! On the whole, 'Colonia' is a refreshing competent thriller led by some formidable performances.

'Ride Along 2' does its job by delivering a handful of goofy laughs & reasonably solid action sequences. But aside from its noticeably higher production values and satisfyingly stylish opening credits, it's also pretty much a carbon copy of its predecessor. For better and for worse, it's neither better nor worse than the original "Ride Along." But if you thought the first one was fun, taking another spin won't disappoint.

'The Boy' is a fresh & entertaining treat for everyone. Horror movies that come out in the dead movie month of January are usually pretty bad but I have to say that The Boy was at least a decent movie. Yes, Its not going to keep you awake at night like great horrors do, but Its not going to disappoint either. I'm really glad to see someone from a prominent television show make a good transition and show promise for a future film career, well done Lauren Cohan.

'Jane Got A Gun' might not be a classic but it serves its purpose of being a decent entertainer. Considering its reportedly troubled production, it’s almost disappointing that it’s not a train wreck or at least an edgier effort. Nevertheless it takes up a spot in the harmless fun category.

'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' is a perfect weekend watch thanks to its generally fantastic tone, great action, brilliant humor and excellent performances.

'Batman: Bad Blood' is one of the more enjoyable DC Animated films in recent years. The necessary twists to the original comic book arcs are working in their favor so far. If you are a Batman fan, give this is a watch!

'Triple 9' is a solidly enjoyable movie. It's not the masterpiece I'd hoped for, but if you're looking for a good corrupt cop or a heist movie filled with all kinds of deranged stuff going on then look no further.

'The Other Side of the Door' works due to its compelling set-up, good atmospheric nuance, appreciation of foreign culture and fine performances. While hardcore horror fans might snicker at the repeated attempt to cause a scare, non horror fans like myself may enjoy this one.

'Kung Fu Panda 3' is an awesome addition to the franchise which just keeping better with every installment!!

'My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2' isn't perfect, but it's nearly as hilarious and has even more heart than its much-beloved predecessor.

'Before I Wake' is an enjoyable psychological horror film which delivers on a genuine story-line along with the right thrills.
