As impossible as it is to truly capture Terry Pratchett's world on film, Hogfather did a rather good job. Death impersonates the discworld's equivalent of Santa and his granddaughter (an excellent Michelle Dockery) invades the toothfairy's castle. There are also assassins, wizards and a god of hangovers. Yes, it is awesome.

Votes: 887,312 | Gross: $59.10M
Wes Anderson's magical and whimsical world pulls you in and doesn't let go. Grand Budapest Hotel is meticulously executed and staggering in its love to detail. The cast is - as always with Anderson - stellar and the tale is, of course, beautiful.
