Actors who wore wigs in their movies

In real life John wasn't bothered about his baldness. But in his movies he donned the toupee at the studio's request.

I can best estimate Stewart began wearing a toupee maybe as far back as 1946 when he made It's A Wonderful Life. A wig maybe, but it was a good one. All his 'pieces' were.

Let's face it, he looked better with hair and younger too. It's common knowledge he was wearing toupees from the early 1950s and most certainly in Dail 'M' For Murder.

It's doubtful whether Fred actually had hair of his own when he first started sppearing in movies. And whilst his toupees were good, the bad recession at the sides gave the secret away he was really bald.

This is rumoured but I don't have any clear evidence of him wearing fake hair. You decide.

By the late 1960s, Peter's natural hair had thinned and receded. Like John Wayne, baldness never bothered him, but his horror films often required him to wear a toupee. And in movies such as Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (1974), he sported a flamboyant 'Marcel Marceau' piece.
