Only acting gig. Still lives in Martha's Vineyard where he managed a sandwich shop.- Like many child actors who happen to get an important film role in their lives yet their film careers doesn't necessarily follow such path for too long, Cary Guffey certainly left an eternal mark in the movie business as Barry Guiler in Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977). But he never thought this should be the main factor to define him. Guffey's life took a different turn with a degree in marketing from the University of Florida, MBA from Alabama's Jacksonville State University and working as a financial planner for Merrill Lynch. But early on, he was an actor with positive experiences.
He was born in 1972. His film debut around age 4 was in Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) as Melinda Dillon's son and he can be considered as a natural talent since he never had seen a movie in his life prior to this film experience (he was presented to a few films while making the film); and also the fact that director Steven Spielberg was really impressed by the kid's abilities in delivering great performances in one or two takes to each scene he was part of. The movie went on to become a massive hit and Guffey was even considered to award nominations and later on considered by a deeply impressed Stanley Kubrick for the role of Danny Torrance in The Shining (1980). But that didn't happen and Danny Lloyd was the chosen one.
Apart from Spielberg's classic sci-fi, he's best remembered as the humanoid alien H7-25 who partners Bud Spencer in The Sheriff and the Satellite Kid (1979) and Everything Happens to Me (1980). Other credits include Martin Ritt's Cross Creek (1983), Stroker Ace (1983), Mutant (1984) and The Bear (1984). In 1985, he appeared in one TV movie and one miniseries and then at age 13 he never returned to the entertainment world and turned his career to other businesses, but successful ones and now he's a happily family man.Barry in Close Encounters of the Third Kind(1977)
After starring in "Close Encounters" he went on to star with Bud Spencer in The Sheriff and the Satellite Kid(1979) and the sequel. He appeared in a few tv productions in the 80s amongst them "North and South".
He is rumoured to work as a financial planner for Merrill Lynch.

Since melting filmgoers' hearts at the tender age of six in Steven Spielberg's beloved sci-fi blockbuster, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982), Drew Barrymore has emerged as one of the most iconic and singularly gifted talents of her generation. Born in Culver City, California to John Drew Barrymore and Jaid Barrymore, the clutches of fame were virtually inescapable for young Drew, her father being a member of the esteemed showbiz dynasty fronted by stage star Maurice Barrymore, his thespian wife Georgiana, and their three children: Lionel Barrymore, Ethel Barrymore, and John Barrymore.
In the wake of a challenging era fuelled by addiction and media vitriol, an industrious Barrymore threw herself into her work during the early-mid nineties, first with an assortment of "bad girl" parts in cultish B-pics like Poison Ivy (1992), Guncrazy (1992), Doppelganger (1993), and - befittingly - Bad Girls (1994); then, warmly received supporting roles in mainstream fare such as Boys on the Side (1995), Batman Forever (1995), Woody Allen's Everyone Says I Love You (1996), and Wes Craven's game-changing horror megahit, Scream (1996). Equal portions of goofball - The Wedding Singer (1998), Never Been Kissed (1999), Charlie's Angels (2000) - and gravitas - Riding in Cars with Boys (2001), Donnie Darko (2001), Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002) - came next, with a Golden Globe-grabbing pièce de résistance - her divine incarnation of Edith Bouvier Beale in Grey Gardens (2009) - confirming that her skill set was every bit as broad and robust as imagined.
Having already birthed an array of projects through Flower Films, the production house she co-formed with Nancy Juvonen in '95, Barrymore fastened an additional string to her bow when she spearheaded the sports dramedy Whip It (2009), her richly appraised directorial debut. Following a steady run of star vehicles at the front end of the 2010s, her tour de force turn as walking-dead suburban realtor Sheila Hammond - on Netflix's Santa Clarita Diet (2017) - saw her step with trademark resolve into newer territory still: the flourishing world of small screen entertainment, a metamorphosis she continues to espouse with her role as compère of spirited daytime staple, The Drew Barrymore Show (2020).Gertie in E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial(1982)
Barrymore who came out of a long line of actors and actresses was acting prior to E.T. And she has since been a famous and infamous part of Hollywood. She had a hard time with drugs and alcohol in her young years and she has has some controversial relationships that appeared in the media. But in the last couple of decades she has become a household name doing everything from cameos to films like The Wedding Singer, 50 First dates, Charlie's Angels 1 & 2, Donnie Darko, Confession of a Dangerous Mind, Scream, Never been kissed, Everyone says I love you, Boys on the side, Ever After and recently alot of significant voice jobs like for Family Guy.

Sean Frye was born in Hollywood to an American actor and an Irish native. Entering commercial television at the age of 6, Frye was already studying with Mr. Lee Strasberg at The Actors Studio in Hollywood by age 9. Frye was eventually spotted in a Crest toothpaste commercial by director Ted Kotcheff and landed the role (sight unseen) of son Billy in the 1977 film "Fun with Dick and Jane." Father Virgil Frye (1930-2012) met caterer Sondra Peluce on the set of one of Frye's commercial television film shoots for M&M Candies, and his sister (actress, Soleil Moon Frye) was born soon thereafter. Frye and his father Virgil introduced Soleil to their talent agency Herb Tannen & Associates and sister Soleil went on to much greater success. Sean Frye co-starred in long running stage productions of "The Petrified Man" opposite Marian Mercer, La MaMa Theater's "Skyjack '76, Entebbe" (Drama Critics Circle Award winner), and the madcap comedy "Crazy Marriage." Frye co-starred as Elizabeth Montgomery's son in two consecutive TV productions ("The Awakening Land" and "Act of Violence") and also portrayed Melissa Gilbert's very first love interest on "Little House on the Prairie." Best remembered as co-star Steve in the blockbuster classic "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" (1982), Frye was a world traveler by age 14. Briefly married to Rita Trinidad in 1987, Frye retired from the film industry in 1988, entering into social work following the death of two very close friends. In 1993 Frye met his spouse (retired army veteran Michael Alexander) when Alexander issued Frye a parking ticket in West Hollywood. Christian Charles Philip Bale was born in Pembrokeshire, Wales, UK on January 30, 1974, to English parents Jennifer "Jenny" (James) and David Bale. His mother was a circus performer and his father, who was born in South Africa, was a commercial pilot. The family lived in different countries throughout Bale's childhood, including England, Portugal, and the United States. Bale acknowledges the constant change was one of the influences on his career choice.
His first acting job was a cereal commercial in 1983; amazingly, the next year, he debuted on the West End stage in "The Nerd". A role in the 1986 NBC mini-series Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna (1986) caught Steven Spielberg's eye, leading to Bale's well-documented role in Empire of the Sun (1987). For the range of emotions he displayed as the star of the war epic, he earned a special award by the National Board of Review for Best Performance by a Juvenile Actor.
Adjusting to fame and his difficulties with attention (he thought about quitting acting early on), Bale appeared in Kenneth Branagh's 1989 adaptation of Shakespeare's Henry V (1989) and starred as Jim Hawkins in a TV movie version of Treasure Island (1990). Bale worked consistently through the 1990s, acting and singing in Newsies (1992), Swing Kids (1993), Little Women (1994), The Portrait of a Lady (1996), The Secret Agent (1996), Metroland (1997), Velvet Goldmine (1998), All the Little Animals (1998), and A Midsummer Night's Dream (1999). Toward the end of the decade, with the rise of the Internet, Bale found himself becoming one of the most popular online celebrities around, though he, with a couple notable exceptions, maintained a private, tabloid-free mystique.
Bale roared into the next decade with a lead role in American Psycho (2000), director Mary Harron's adaptation of the controversial Bret Easton Ellis novel. In the film, Bale played a murderous Wall Street executive obsessed with his own physicality - a trait for which Bale would become a specialist. Subsequently, the 10th Anniversary issue for "Entertainment Weekly" crowned Bale one of the "Top 8 Most Powerful Cult Figures" of the past decade, citing his cult status on the Internet. EW also called Bale one of the "Most Creative People in Entertainment", and "Premiere" lauded him as one of the "Hottest Leading Men Under 30".
Bale was truly on the Hollywood radar at this time, and he turned in a range of performances in the remake Shaft (2000), Captain Corelli's Mandolin (2001), the balmy Laurel Canyon (2002), and Reign of Fire (2002), a dragons-and-magic commercial misfire that has its share of defenders.
Two more cult films followed: Equilibrium (2002) and The Machinist (2004), the latter of which gained attention mainly due to Bale's physical transformation - he dropped a reported 60+ pounds for the role of a lathe operator with a secret that causes him to suffer from insomnia for over a year.
Bale's abilities to transform his body and to disappear into a character influenced the decision to cast him in Batman Begins (2005), the first chapter in Christopher Nolan's definitive trilogy that proved a dark-themed narrative could resonate with audiences worldwide. The film also resurrected a character that had been shelved by Warner Bros. after a series of demising returns, capped off by the commercial and critical failure of Batman & Robin (1997). A quiet, personal victory for Bale: he accepted the role after the passing of his father in late 2003, an event that caused him to question whether he would continue performing.
Bale segued into two indie features in the wake of Batman's phenomenal success: The New World (2005) and Harsh Times (2005). He continued working with respected independent directors in 2006's Rescue Dawn (2006), Werner Herzog's feature version of his earlier, Emmy-nominated documentary, Little Dieter Needs to Fly (1997). Leading up to the second Batman film, Bale starred in The Prestige (2006), the remake of 3:10 to Yuma (2007), and a reunion with director Todd Haynes in the experimental Bob Dylan biography, I'm Not There (2007).
Anticipation for The Dark Knight (2008) was spun into unexpected heights with the tragic passing of Heath Ledger, whose performance as The Joker became the highlight of the sequel. Bale's graceful statements to the press reminded us of the days of the refined Hollywood star as the second installment exceeded the box-office performance of its predecessor.
Bale's next role was the eyebrow-raising decision to take over the role of John Connor in the Schwarzenegger-less Terminator Salvation (2009), followed by a turn as federal agent Melvin Purvis in Michael Mann's Public Enemies (2009). Both films were hits but not the blockbusters they were expected to be.
For all his acclaim and box-office triumphs, Bale would earn his first Oscar in 2011 in the wake of The Fighter (2010)'s critical and commercial success. Bale earned the Best Supporting Actor award for his portrayal of Dicky Eklund, brother to and trainer of boxer "Irish" Micky Ward, played by Mark Wahlberg. Bale again showed his ability to reshape his body with another gaunt, skeletal transformation.
Bale then turned to another auteur, Yimou Zhang, for the epic The Flowers of War (2011), in which Bale portrayed a priest trapped in the midst of the Rape of Nanking. Bale earned headlines for his attempt to visit with Chinese civil-rights activist Chen Guangcheng, which was blocked by the Chinese government.
Bale capped his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman in The Dark Knight Rises (2012); in the wake of the Aurora, Colorado tragedy, Bale made a quiet pilgrimage to the state to visit with survivors of the attack that left theatergoers dead and injured. He also starred in the thriller Out of the Furnace (2013) with Crazy Heart (2009) writer/director Scott Cooper, and the drama-comedy American Hustle (2013), reuniting with David O. Russell.
Bale will re-team with The New World (2005) director Terrence Malick for two upcoming projects: Knight of Cups (2015) and an as-yet-untitled drama.
In his personal life, he devotes time to charities including Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Foundation. He lives with his wife, Sibi Blazic, and their two children.Empire of the Sun(1985)
Christian Bale hardly needs any introduction as he is now know as Bruce Wayne/Batman, John Connor, Patrick Bateman, Amled, a wide range of dislikable characters and the oscar winning performance as Dicky Eklund in "The Fighter".
He is probably the most successful of Spielberg's child actors
