My Top 20 Actors of all time....PLUS Ten Honorable Mentions!
Here is a list, bound to be controversial, of my personal favorite big screen actors. But pay attention to my rules here to save you from angrily posting me....
These are not in any particular order!! They are not my favorite at #1 and so on. They are randomly my top twenty favorites.
Second of all....I estimate their time in the industry according to their first significant piece of work (nothing uncredited or unsubstantiated) and because I am listing my top ACTORS I am also not making too many comments on their other jobs in the industry ie: Directing, Producing etc.
I also estimate their Successful/Hit Films----I am thinking movies that were #1 at the box office, made significant money, or become cult/media classics. A movie that everyone has seen type of thing. And it's an estimate and I'm not including if they strictly directed the film either. Only their acting appearances.
And finally I chose to list Oscars because many film fanatics believe the Oscars are the ultimate in Acting honors. I don't necessarily agree but it does in some cases prove their clout in Hollywood but not always either. I think sometimes The Golden Globes are a better indication of that. Clint Eastwood wurde am 31 Mai 1930 in San Francisco, California, USA geboren. Er ist Schauspieler und Produzent, bekannt für Million Dollar Baby (2004), Gran Torino (2008) und Space Cowboys (2000). Er war mit Dina Eastwood und Margaret Neville Johnson verheiratet.Why? Well Mr. Eastwood is probably one of my top three actors of all time. He has done action, drama, westerns (of course) but he is hands down the macho-ist man alive. He lives and breaths macho with his growly voice, and his persona. Every decade he has coined a fantastic film or a series of films from his Westerns in the 60's and 70's, to his Action and comedies of the 80's, his thrillers in the 90's and his diverse work in the 2000's. His directing is outstanding (Except for the disgustingly awful Hereafter of last year) but he is one of the only directors that I go to see his movies he directs because of him even when he isn't in them. He's just so smooth and bad ass and angry and sarcastic and just ignites the screen. In his seventies he is still considered a Hollywood heavyweight although more behind the camera now. I sit here twiddling my thumbs dying to see his J. Edgar bio-pic.

He's quirky and so down to earth and he managed to scored some of the hottest legendary films early in his career. I haven't even seen some of his biggest films but what I have seen him in is always fantastic. He just commands attention and yet has this subtle, guy next door look to him. He's not ruggedly handsome (Sorry Dustin) but is the exact persona of Hollywood star.

I've seen him give some of the most emotional powerful performances, and he can do comedy, action, drama and everything in between. He's very versatile. He's also directed of course, and has been a legendary staple in Hollywood. He just oozes this masculine, emotional persona. He will always be tops on my list.

He's had some of the biggest films of all time and he's still going strong in his seventies. He just oozes talent because he has this amazing chemistry on screen. He is the all time hero, you just root for him every time. He's delved a little into drama to show off his chops and he can do it but Harrison Ford just really is Harrison Ford and you love every minute of him on screen. He definitely picks amazing films and is some of the most iconic modern day characters on screen. I wish he had decades ahead of him but the man is a legend and when he is on screen, I am riveted!!

Sie haben zwei Kinder. Er war mit Diahnne Abbott verheiratet.Why? Well first of all he's Robert Deniro. The name alone just equals legend!! He has this rough around the edges macho quality that no one can deny. Now in his seventies when he is on screen he just commands attention and he's just so...Deniro...generally considered to be one of the greatest actors in history I agree!! It isn't his classic films like Taxi Driver or Raging Bull (a film which I HATED) that makes me love him but just his entire body of work and his entire on screen personality. He is a legend!!

But he will always be completely tops in my books as one of my favorite all time actors. First of all his machismo factor is off the scales!! He just lives and breaths being a bad ass. His action films are legendary, his comedic timing is awesome, his sarcasm, charm and wit have made him an unstoppable force. I LOVE seeing his films and I rush to see everything he does although it hasn't all been good of course. I think he still has some wicked action flicks left in him. Die Hard 5 please come NOW!! He is one of the best action stars EVER.

Say what you will...I think he is a multi-talented power house and his quirky persona, off putting voice and face has made him a star. He is powerful on screen and has had his ups and downs and had some very iffy projects but he directs, writes, and stars in films and has proven he does have real acting chops before as much as he gets made fun of. I just like him on screen and his action films are legendary and he is just fun to watch. He isn't exactly macho but he just has this underdog persona that wins him fans again and again. I am drooling for more Expendables. Even at 60+ he is still pulling off the Action Flicks.

Er war mit Maria Shriver verheiratet.Why? I miss the guy. He was an eighties and nineties staple in Action films. He has had some legendary screen personas and much like Stallone his quirky looks and accented voice made him a star. He picked good strong action flicks and he doesn't have the macho factor but yet he has that same underdog quality as Stallone but also just this huge larger than life image. His comedy is off beat and I think he coined the fish out of water comedy that Hollywood tries so hard at now. He is lucky enough to have some of the best action films under his belt. I'm not sure he can ever have a comeback at his age, and with his recent issues with personal life but for the 80's/90's he was a legend and I love his sci-fi action flicks. When it comes to that genre, he is KING!

He has given some of the most brilliant performances I have ever seen and starred in what I believe is one of the greatest films of all time at least top 5 (Forrest Gump) He just always seems so likable, down to earth and he produces a great deal too. He's talented and passionate and while I think he's in a bit of a slump right now I think he has some big roles ahead of him yet!

Yes he's slipped from the spotlight but I still think Costner was the embodiment of Hollywood movie star. He starred in my favorite film of all time (JFK) and did everything from action to drama to Historical Epics and did some award winning directing as well. The ironic thing is some of my favorite films of his are the ones that didn't do well. He was mind blowing in Mr Brooks (a completely under appreciated film, and I have always been a fan of The Postman one of his biggest financial disappointments. There is just something honest and real about him and I like his subtle down home chemistry on screen.

Sie haben zwei Kinder. Er war mit Carey Lowell und Cindy Crawford verheiratet.Why? Another actor who has sadly slipped out of the Hollywood limelight as of late. The young Richard Gere just looks incredibly smooth, and romantic, and suave. He was like an American James Bond in every role he was in. I never saw anything where he really got down and dirty into a role, he always looked perfectly composed, and calm. Like Costner he has slipped in recent years but I've also been a huge fan of some of his recent straight to video work. He was incredible in The Hunting Party, The Flock, and The Hoax, all which came out very close together and got no notable mention anywhere but are really great movies and top notch performances for him. I love him for his style, and his soft persona and he just looks like a movie star always. A lot of people consider his acting very 'wooden' but I think he puts a real guy next door, relatable intensity to his characters. He also gave one of the best performances I've ever seen (opposite another of the greatest performances I've ever seen Edward Norton) in Primal Fear...one of his must sees!!

Er war mit Katie Holmes, Nicole Kidman und Mimi Rogers verheiratet.Why? Cause he's Tom freakin Cruise. The man is Hollywood. When you think of young hot Hollywood you think of Tom Cruise..I don't care about ANY of his personal crap or his religion or anything like that. The only thing I care about is when he is on screen, looking perfect, acting perfect, and just giving us a truly great performance. His really big dramatic turns might be behind him as of late but he is versatile, he has the ability, and one of his biggest critically acclaimed performances and films I didn't even like (Jerry McGuire) I like Tom Cruise cause he's smooth and cool and just looks hot doing everything and has given us some of the best action films of recent years with his Mission Impossible series. Mission Impossible 3 was one of the best action films I've ever seen. He also gave some unnoticed but I think great performances in the flop Lions for Lambs (I loved it!!), and Valkyrie I thought was excellent. Now he's going to be Stacee Jaxx in my favorite Stage Play of all time...I hope he does it justice or he'll be yanked from this list.

Sie haben zwei Kinder. Er war mit Sheree Zampino verheiratet.Why? He's sort of been quiet lately on the acting front but for awhile there he was literally Hollywood's hottest commodity. He held the record for most #1 films consecutively I believe...and still holds it I think? He goes from comedy to action completely flawlessly. He's done producing as well and he grabs a good script and he is so intense and passionate on screen and he just brings every character he portrays to life. What action film can you get the intensity that Will Smith gave us in I Am Legend when he has to kill his own dog, or has a break down over his mannequin friend. I think Smith is a little under appreciated in fact, especially lately, but he'll be back with a vengeance I know it!! He's the only actor I've ever seen on IMDB who has over 20 credits in his rumoured to be In Development spot. He's terrific, and his charisma on screen is untouchable!!

Er war mit Susan Schneider, Marsha Garces Williams und Valerie Velardi verheiratet. Er starb am 11 August 2014 in Tiburon, California, USA.Why? Because I find him absolutely hilarious. He is over the top and he does often take it way too far and he hasn't had a good movie in...well years, maybe decades, but still I think he is very versatile and so emotional. He can do drama and put so much emotion behind it that it is literally stunning. Patch Adams, Good Will Hunting, What Dreams May Come...these shows Robin Williams at his very best just amazingly open and passionate. This is the same guy who is uncontrollable hyper and over the top in other films. I just think he's real and honest and he loves what he does. He will always be one of my favourite comedians and also one of my favourite actors. P.S. CONGRATS ROBIN ON YOUR NUPTIALS THIS PAST WEEKEND!!

I tried very hard to like his last project (TV's The Beast) but I wasn't a huge fan. But he has had some incredible roles and just oozed masculinity and embodied the Hollywood star look and he just always seemed like he was a darn nice guy. He was in some of my favorite films of all time like Dirty Dancing, Roadhouse, and an absolutely stunning hilariously performance in To Wong Foo Thanks For Everything, Ghost of course, he was just so versatile and fun to watch and has so much incredible chemistry on screen.

There hasn't been many, if any, young macho kick-ass action stars that really impress...except Mr. Jason Statham!! He's still young into his career but I love his action flicks. I am a huge fan of action films and I feel like the 21st century just doesn't live up the action films of the eighties and nineties but Jason Statham is the exception to that rule. He is bad ass, macho, and a talented Martial Artist. I love his hard on the outside, soft on the inside characters, and he is a solid actor!! I hope he keeps making the action films and dabble in some other genres as well. Let's hear it for The Expendables II which brings together some of the greatest guys in my list!!

Al Pacino wurde am 25 April 1940 in Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA geboren. Er ist Schauspieler und Regisseur, bekannt für Serpico (1973), Hundstage (1975) und Der Pate (1972).Why? Hoooahhhh Pacino is a legend. He isn't your typical Hollywood star and yet the man has acted his way through decades of amazing roles and is still on the forefront of Hollywood. He has multiple legendary roles (some of which I haven't even seen yet---can you fathom I have yet to see Scarface?!) but the thing that gets me with him is when he is on screen you are just riveted...your mouth is hanging open and his performances are hypnotizing. He will certainly go in the books as one of Hollywood's greatest actors but I love him because of his chemistry on screen and how I can't take my eyes off of him when he's doing a great role.

Er war mit Angelina Jolie und Jennifer Aniston verheiratet.Why? I think if you asked someone...quick name a Hollywood star...99.9% of people would say...Brad Pitt. He IS modern Hollywood and of course has one of the most recognizable personal lives out there. But Brad Pitt is not just a pretty face...he is a brilliant actor. I have seen him in some of the greatest roles, emotional, twisted, disturbing, heroic, he literally becomes his character and just bursts onto the screen. Some of his amazingly stunning roles have been in Se7en, Twelve Monkeys, Interview with a Vampire, The Assassination of Jesse James, Benjamin Button are just a few of my all time favourites from Mr. Pitt but there are so many other great films he has done. I have always loved one of his biggest theatre flops Meet Joe Black. I think Mr. Pitt has some outstanding roles in his future both mainstream and critically. He is epitome of modern day Hollywood and what a star is all about...and best of all he is talented.

Morgan Freeman wurde am 1 Juni 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee, USA geboren. Er ist Schauspieler und Produzent, bekannt für Sieben (1995), Miss Daisy und ihr Chauffeur (1989) und Million Dollar Baby (2004). Er war mit Myrna Colley-Lee und Jeanette Adair Bradshaw verheiratet.Why? Truth be told, one of the things I love most about the amazing Morgan Freeman is that he didn't hit it big until he was nearly 50. He's like an inspiration for those of us who didn't have a striking start in our younger years. But even still Freeman exudes confidence and charisma and every role he is in whether big or small he treats it like a leading role and knocks it out of the park. He has an amazing and diverse career and has done comedy, drama, and even action in his senior years. He always looks so presidential and important and yet always has this calm, and meek demeanor. He does everything in sight and even when the film is sub par he is always great in it!! I even think we might see him do another truly outstanding role that might get some Academy attention.

Ryan Reynolds wurde am 23 Oktober 1976 in Kanada geboren. Er ist Schauspieler und Produzent, bekannt für Deadpool 2 (2018), Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) und Deadpool (2016). Er ist seit dem 9 September 2012 mit Blake Lively verheiratet. Sie haben vier Kinder. Er war mit Scarlett Johansson verheiratet.Why? One of the youngest guys on my list but has always been one of my favorites since he came on scene. Obviously he is best known for comedy and he does that well but imagine my surprise when he turned in an absolutely wicked, terrifying, dramatic turn in The Amityville Horror remake. He has done drama, comedy and action and has proven his versatility although he'll like always be known for that sarcastic brand of comedy that I love!! Still I'd like to see him do some more action, some more meaty suspense or dramatic roles. He was brilliant in the underappreciated Buried and he will fast become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood and not just for whom he dates/marries. Reynolds has crazy chemistry, sometimes almost bordering on cocky, and he often saves a film just by being in it (Green Lantern anyone?) Reynolds will be Hollywood elite for a very long time. Whether he'll ever catch critical acclaim I don't know.
