- DirectorZale DalenStarsThomas PeacockeFrances HylandBarry MorseIt's the winter of 1940. Father Athol Murray - "Pere" to most that know him - is an opinionated, chain-smoking, hard drinking parish priest at Notre Dame College in Wilcox, Saskatchewan. His strong opinions include his disdain for socialism as epitomized by the CCF party in Saskatchewan and the current war which has claimed too many lives including those of former students, needing to raise money to operate the College by whatever means, and not wanting others to emulate his vices - especially not wanting the students and women to smoke - while he blissfully enjoys those vices himself. Despite these views, he is beloved by most that know him, although he often is the cause for consternation of the area's bishop, Bishop Williams. Pere may face backlash in the form of Ron Fryer, a new student to the College. Despite needing to "triumph over adversity" - his unofficial motto - every day in operating the College on a shoestring, a hockey game between the College's team, the Hounds, against the Moose Jaw Canucks, and the events immediately following may test Pere's resolve in dealing with adversity, and how it affects his students, including Fryer.

Sandy and her pre-teen friends fall madly for Butch's rock 'n' roll swagger, but he's more interested in making time with the local girls and getting in fistfights than in playing chauffeur to Sandy. Both have a lot to learn about life and each other, but united under the strict parental rule of Sandy's dad, they vow to make this summer a truly unforgettable experience. Capturing the restlessness of youth with a fresh and funny perspective, Wilson's genuinely charming period piece is forever reaching for lost innocence as it playfully contrasts Canadian and American attitudes. - DirectorFrançois BouvierStarsJoël Dalpé-DrapeauDenis BouchardPatrick ThomasAn adult Martin Roy reminisces about his life in the 1966/67 school year. At fifteen years old and in his last year of junior high school, he breathed, ate and slept hockey. He collected hockey cards, played street hockey with his friends, tried skating and ice hockey for the first time in his life, but was most fascinated with his local national league team, the Montréal Canadiens, and its star player, Henri Richard. He dreamed of growing up and working for the Canadiens franchise. But a more immediate goal was to get tickets to one of their games, using M. Richard and his banker father, Hervé, as possible conduits to that goal. He also remembers his school life from that year, with the arrival of pot smoking free thinking hippie Ron Richardson as the new English teacher, and dreading home room with strict Mlle. Chouinard, who he eventually learned too had a human side. But he learned that there may be a couple of things more important than hockey: family, and the opposite sex.
