I had the pleasure of seeing space/time by Michael O"Halloran on the Gold Coast last night, and I have to say, it completely exceeded my expectations. From the opening scene to the final moments, the film had me hooked. It's action-packed, thought-provoking, and emotionally resonant all at once. The story is not only brilliantly written but also deeply original. It blends science fiction with human drama in a way that feels both grounded and ambitious. The concept of time manipulation or alternate realities (without giving too much away) is handled with intelligence and creativity, keeping the audience intrigued but never confused.
The pacing is spot-on, with just the right balance of action, dialogue, and quieter moments that allow the characters to shine. Speaking of which, the performances are absolutely stellar. Each actor brought depth and nuance to their role, making the story feel that much more impactful. You could tell the cast was fully committed to the material, and it really elevated the entire experience.
It's rare to find a film that ticks so many boxes, strong writing, excellent direction, powerful acting, and a story that stays with you long after the credits roll. Space/time manages to do all that and more. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates smart, well-crafted cinema. Whether you're a fan of science fiction or just great storytelling, this movie is well worth your time.

Caught a showing of this in Melbourne and just had to say-what a ride! You all absolutely nailed it. The concept was such a fresh and original take on time travel, which is hard to pull off these days. The pacing was spot-on-tight, no unnecessary drag, and kept me fully locked in from start to finish.
Every performance hit the mark-seriously solid acting across the board. Visually, it looked incredible. The cinematography and effects really elevated the whole experience. And that score? Perfectly matched the tone and added a lot of emotional weight. Great work from local Australian movie industry.
Shout out to Jai.

I've been tracking the progress of this film since 2016 when I first saw it announced on Facebook, so one can imagine I had high expectations.
It is a brilliant and clever interpretation of the time-travel genre. At only 90 minutes, there's very few redundant scenes, although I wish they'd spent a bit more time on the events leading up to the accident and the accident itself.
But once it gets going, it's a combined roller-coaster and maze as multiple timelines converge and different versions of the main characters battle it out to literally save time.
It has a similar vibe to Primer (in terms of storytelling - the production quality far exceeds it) and likewise, it does not spoon-feed the audience with exposition, so it'll need at least a couple of viewings to fully comprehend.
Michael and his team have managed to produce a sci-fi epic with special effects that belie its small budget, and I assume is the main reason why it took nine years to complete.
What I found similarly incredible was that at the Q&A, none of the cast seem to have aged much, perhaps they're using a real time machine and are keeping it from us???
From what I've heard, it's going straight to streaming and BluRay. There are a few cinema screenings happening across Australia during May, however.
