P. Diddy went from Bad Boy to busted—real fast. Once crowned hip-hop royalty and living that Hollywood high life, Sean “Diddy” Combs is now just inmate 37452-054, cooling his heels at the Brooklyn detention center while the beat drops on a federal trial that could end his career for good.
The music mogul’s legal team has been pulling every trick in the playbook, trying to push back the tempo on his looming court date. But on Friday, a federal judge shut that remix down, denying Diddy’s request to delay his s-x trafficking trial by two months.
Now, the opening statements are set to hit the courtroom stage on May 12, and it’s shaping up to be a high-stakes setlist: Diddy faces five serious criminal counts, including s-x trafficking and racketeering. The trial is expected to run for eight to ten weeks, but here’s the twist. A...

The pre-trial sparks continue to fly ahead of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Manhattan trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges. The accused rap mogul’s lawyers submitted a lengthy questionnaire for potential jurors asking about aversion to sex, drugs and violence ruffling the prosecution’s feathers.
In a Friday letter sent to Judge Arun Subramanian, Combs’ attorneys floated a questionnaire for potential jurors that asks in detail questions about adult situations and footage of real-life physical assault. The questionnaire will be distributed to those who responded to their jury summons to narrow the pool ahead of selection on May 5.
The nature of the questionnaire suggests that footage of the sex and drug-fueled multi-day so-called “freak-off” parties prosecutors described in their indictment of Combs will be shown to the jury at trial. Additionally, the leaked footage of a 2018 incident in which Combs is seen beating and dragging his then-girlfriend, R&b singer Cassie Ventura,...

In a brutal blow to Sean Combs‘ defense case in his upcoming trial, one of his attorneys mysteriously filed a motion to withdraw from the case. Combs was indicted in September on multiple charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.
His trial is set for May 5. Until then, he is behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn under a $50 million bail. A judge earlier rejected a defense motion for Combs to be held under house arrest.
Giving no reason for his request, Combs’ lawyer Anthony Ricco firmly stated in his affidavit, “Although I have provided Sean Combs with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs, consistent with the Aba Standards for Criminal Justice.”
In an explanation of why his motion request was so concise, Ricco stated that...

In a surprising development, one of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense attorneys, Anthony Ricco, filed a motion to withdraw from the music mogul’s federal sex trafficking case on Friday (February 21).
The motion cites undisclosed reasons protected by attorney-client privilege. Ricco stated, “Although I have provided Sean Combs with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs.”
Despite Ricco’s departure, the trial remains scheduled to commence on May 5, 2025. Diddy, 54, has been detained without bail since his arrest in September 2024 on charges including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and up to life imprisonment.
The defense team, led by attorney Marc Agnifilo, continues to represent Diddy. Ricco assured that his withdrawal would not delay the proceedings, noting that Combs “will continue to be represented by five other attorneys of record.

It didn't take long for the entertainment industry to cash in on the sex-trafficking and assault allegations leveled against Sean 'Diddy' Combs. Once those allegations surfaced, multiple networks set about scheduling interviews and developing documentaries about the rapper-turned-mogul's alleged criminal enterprise. Peacock's Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy took the allegations even further, with insinuations that connected him to several infamous deaths. However, Peacock may be forced to pay a hefty price for its deep dive, if attorneys representing Combs have their way.
According to Variety, the lawsuit was filed by Combs against the streamer, parent company NBCUniversal, and production company Ample Entertainment. Combs is seeking $100 million in damages resulting from the documentary "falsely, recklessly, and maliciously" assassinating his character by tying him to sex-trafficking and the criminal deaths of Combs' former girlfriend, Kim Porter, and the Notorious B.I.G., among others. Sean “Diddy” Combs is suing NBCUniversal and Peacock.
The 55-year-old music mogul filed a $100 million defamation suit in New York State Court on Wednesday morning (February 12) regarding the Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy documentary, which explored the allegations the rapper is facing.
“For nearly a century, NBC has been a trusted name in news, a leader in broadcasting important stories to citizens who depend on reputable media to stay informed,” the lawsuit reads, via TheWrap.
“Grossly exploiting this trust and shamelessly capitalizing on the public’s insatiable appetite for content about Mr. Combs in the lead up to his criminal trial, Defendants made a conscious decision to line their own pockets at the expense of truth, decency and basic standards of professional journalism.”

Combs, in a lawsuit filed on Wednesday in New York state court, points to accusations that he murdered Kim Porter, who shares four children with the singer, and had sex with minors, among other claims he’s concerned will bias potential jurors in his trial. He seeks at least $100 million.

A mere two months after the November arrest of Sean “Diddy” Combs on federal racketeering and sex trafficking charges, the first of multiple planned major documentaries looking into the hip-hop mogul’s life and some of the allegations against him arrives this week on Peacock, revealing some new details of the accused industry superstar’s sordid past.

This post contains discussions of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Peacock’s new documentary about Sean “Diddy” Combs attempts to cover a whole lot of ground in a relatively short amount of time, which makes the feature feel unglued, unfocused, and unsure of itself. However, thanks to some poignant first-person testimonials — including one from Combs’ oldest friend — it does still offer some chilling revelations about the disgraced rap mogul that make it worth the watch. Here are some of the biggest takeaways from Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy. His childhood may have inspired his notorious party life. The single most compelling and informative part of the documentary is the interview with the man Combs grew up with, Tim Patterson, which is probably why his conversation pieces serve as the spine of the entire thing. In his interviews, Patterson revealed that after Combs’ father died — allegedly, by...

If Peacock’s premature attempt to document the Diddy debacle is any indication of the criminal trial to come, then Sean Combs is in for a hell of a media circus.
The earliest in a series of upcoming true crime projects centering the disgraced rapper, “Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy” started filming shortly after Combs’ arrest on September 16, 2024. It hits streaming on Tuesday amid ongoing pretrial matters and features new interviews with several people close to the case — including Combs’ childhood friends, two accusers, a former bodyguard, opposing legal representatives, hip-hop journalists, and more — in a production otherwise notable for its editorial incoherence.
Right now, Diddy’s defense team is awaiting details on three federal charges outlined in a surprisingly short indictment from last fall. Those include sex trafficking, transportation to engage in prostitution, and racketeering: a sprawling and complex claim related to an alleged criminal enterprise that...

With so many documentaries about the rise and fall of Sean “Diddy” Combs released or in the works, producer Ari Mark initially didn’t think he would tackle the subject. But then he developed a relationship with Ariel Mitchell, the attorney representing several cases against the entertainment mogul and realized “there was a much more victim-forward approach” he could take. He also got in touch with a childhood friend who grew up in the same house as Combs.

With all the controversy currently surrounding Diddy as he awaits his trial in 2025, there’s a new Peacock documentary about to drop, and the trailer features some explosive confessions from insiders. So, what else does the trailer reveal, and what can viewers expect?
Diddy Has Been Behind Bars As He Awaits Trial
For anyone who has not been regularly keeping up with the ongoing Diddy situation, the rapper, producer, and entrepreneur has been in a Brooklyn detention center awaiting trial in 2025. Diddy tried for bail multiple times as well, but, he was denied.
Not surprisingly, because of his connections, money, and influence, he was deemed a risk. He could certainly either flee the country or potentially tamper with witnesses and/or potential jurors. So, in this aspect, it is not a surprise that his bail was denied.
